I originally got this to do wireless CarPlay. You actually get much more with then wireless CarPlay. Playing live TV and apps like Hulu, and Netflix works really well!

Exceeded my expectations with its features. While adjusting to all the functions took some time, the added convenience is worth it.
I got mine recently and I'm loving it! It's easy to use. Only issue is sometimes it disconnects, messing up music and navigation.

Will the Magic Box connect to Wifi and Bluetooth simultaneously?
I’ve heard the first Gen MB won’t do both, so you have to toggle between the two. I’d like to use my T-Mobile drive sync wifi hotspot for the internet connection for the MB, and use the Bluetooth from my iPhone to connect to the MB for Carplay, because I want to keep using my iPhone on its own unlimited 5G internet.

No, actually mirror product higher quality video that using the built in apps which is why I suggest using mirror when possible, easier control overall

Does the sound link up with the picture? I have a wireless CarPlay device and I never use it because I constantly play CZcams on my phone for my kids and the sound lags behind the video unless it’s a wired connection.
Yes it does. A few folks have stated that was an issue with other devices. Mine is synced up. Posted a few videos on my Instagram showing this.
I have a ‘15 F-150 with SYNC 3…I know it’s completely different from the uConnect, but is there a way to go back to the stock menu while having this connected? Like if I want to change my ambient lighting color, access my massaging seats, etc?

So mine was sitting on my doorstep when I got home from work today, so I was pretty stoked to try it out. I plugged the USB-C/A cord into the box and my 2020 Ram Rebel but no change to the display and only a intermittant blinking light on the box itself. 🤦🏻♂️ I literally bought it after watching this video and they sent me a straight up dud for $329! Of course I started looking more closely at the box wondering what I'm missing and found that words are misspelled on it! I think you should rethink your relationship with his company bro. I sent them an email but I don't expect much. Pissed me off
Bummer man, mine is still working great in both out cars. I'd reach out to Magic brand. I know when I had questions, I sent them an email and heard back a short while after. Hope you get it figured out.
What Android version does it run on?
Think its overpriced for sure but i definitely will get it 😅 i was streaming youtube on my screens 20 years ago required hours and hours of pain staking troubleshooting and electrical soldering to make aftermarket centerconsole screens able to mirror my phones 😅 nice how things have become easier.
It works and it doesn’t buffer I got Verizon so make sure you got a good service provider
When you are using the magic box for wireless google maps, are you able to enter a new address while it's running? When I'm wired in using android auto, it always makes me disconnect from android auto first if I want to use my phone to search or I have to search using my screen.
I use apple maps and I am able to change the aggress. I believe the same applies for all my other GPS apps.

Yup it does that now when I start my truck
How do you default it to the page with the application icons? My magic box opens straight to Netflix or youtube when I turn on my car.
Unfortunately I sold the Rebel so I can't advise on this. I'd ping the folks at Magic Brand and see if they can give you some guidance.

I had a similar box and quit using it due to if I was hooked up hotspot and got a call I couldn't answer handsfree. Can you do that with the Magic box? I know if its blue tooth probably thru the car play but I'm talking about the hotspot wifi on
To be honest, I can't think of a time yet where I got a call while I was streaming something so I can't really advise there...sorry!
I have a 2020 Ram Built to Serve with UConnect 4 as well. When using normal bluetooth, the delay is pretty bad. Does this have the same delay when trying to watch videos when mirroring to Ram screen? Thank you for the video, nice truck.
I've never noticed a delay with my current system through I did in my GMC back in the day when I would have a bunch of apps opened on my phone. Try cleaning out your cache on your phone, resetting the phone every often should help too.

I'm currently using the carsifi box. It don't allow for planning of videos witch isn't what i was after. I was just looking for wireless android auto. But its been really hit and miss with connection issues. I have to unplug it as it will try to connect to my phone when im in the house. How has the magic box been? Oh im driving a 2020 ram 1500 sports ( Canada)
Haven't had any connection issues. Just make sure you check periodically for updates.
So I got this thing, but having a couple of issues, the Andrio Auto map screen the resolution is too big for the screen. If I have the radio on, and go into reverse no problem, when I come out of reverse I loss the radio and have to hit the mode button to get it back. 2023 Tundra, 14" screen. Working with Majicbox but wanted to see if anyone else has seen this.

Yes the steering wheel controls work. Magic box kept popping up on my social media feeds so I figured why not.

Does it automatically connect back bluetooth and hotspot when you turn the car off/on?
Auto connect to Bluetooth so you can run wireless carplay all the time. I have to manually connect to my hotspot when I chose to use an app that needs internet.

They updated it with Uconnect5 on the 2022 and newer models. I have a 2021, super annoying.

Could you update it using your computer vs your phone hotspot? Can you use your phone data instead of hotspot? When you mirror your phone screen are you using data or hotspot?
Sorry I no longer have this vehicle but in all instances where I needed internet I only ever used my phone's hotspot.
I can’t get back in my 2.0 because I put a security code on it. How can I reset device or get in. I don’t have a touchscreen. Please assist
You’ll have to reach out to magic brand, as part of the start up instructions they say do not set a code. They should have a fix, I doubt you’re the only one who’s ever done that
Question: Do you need to really have your phone turned on before the magic box really connects? I just want to get in my car and turn it on, leave my phone in pocket and let it open automatically...
I’m fairly certain you need to unlock your phone at least once to connect

Every car play option I've tried wireless or not has had the option to use carplay while phone is locked...for the price they charge for this thing Id be very surprised if they didnt have this feature.

I see it offers 1 car options 2 car options...but what if you have two phones in the same car which one does it connect to by default and can you easier switch between them?
Id connect one phone to the device so you don’t have to worry about conflicting connections. Not sure I see a scenario where you’d need two phones connecting to a car.
@@WaterFowler41 The scenario would be when i use the car vs my wife using the car so we can both have wireless car play, but the main issue comes into play when we are traveling together in the car at the same time it would be nice to choose which phone to connect to. Cheaper options in the past just connected to whatever device it wants to which sometimes is annoying...i contacted magic brand and their device works the same way not a deal breaker just annoying.
So just got mine setup and yea its doing what the rest do...my phone is in the house and I am in the car with my wifes phone and the system still connects to my phone...very annoying.

Wired sound quality on apple music is way better than bluetooth. How is sound quality using hot spot, also can you watch it in full screen?
You cannot watch it full screen. UC4 will not allow that. I have a sound processor and amp with upgrades speakers so sound quality is pretty dang good.

Question/clarity that I haven't been able to get answered from the manufacturer: Do you know if this "casting" will work on rear-seat infotainment systems? I have a 2020 Suburban with the factory-installed fold-down monitors over the rear seats. This would be great for my kids on long road trips, so I don't have to constantly swap out DVDs for the fold-down screens over the rear seats. But if the only place streaming video would show with this device is the dashboard monitor then this is pointless for me. I've emailed and live-chatted support but never get a clear answer.

Mine was working great for 2 weeks. Then it wouldn't connect anymore. So I did all the steps on the magic brand website and even factory reset my screen. Still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried updating it? Mine was having some issues shortly after i set it up and I found out there was an update pushed out that resolved the issues

TODAY! Does anyone know how to get past confirming the code?!! The box doesn’t have a code on it. It just keeps spinning and Magic Brand is not answering the phone. Looks like I have an expensive piece of crap I can’t use.

Works fast in both our ram and our altima. If you have slow internet then it’ll be slow.

I leave it connected and my phone automatically connects to wireless CarPlay when i start it up. It’s only distracting if you let it be distracting.
