I may be he only person who thinks this is actually a better RTW bike than the T700. Simple, fixable, solid as a donkey.

would you say this is better than the 650gs? i were torn between this and a dakar gs
@@vincemarshall8550 In all honesty I cant comment because I have no experience of the 650 GS. All I can say is that when things go wrong, the simpler a bike is, the better!

I went for non abs version . I didn't hear great reports on the abs model which was introduced in 2014 . More weight , less suspension travel etc.
Great vid 👍 Would you see yourself trading up for the T7? Smaller tank....similar weight etc....have they moved the game on enough?
Gary O' Neill i feel the same way....and the torque is more or less the same. Besides that nothing beats that big thumper sound :)
Great review bud I have an aul 600 diversion and looking for something different especially a tall comfy bike I'm 6"1 and a bit cramped on the divvy 👍

Thank you . Yes i replaced the front springs with 2 hyperpro springs . It made a substantial difference less dive under braking and shortened braking distance . The bike felt more sure-footed in the corners too.
A very reliable Yamaha, good engine. Better this one" Good used one" rather Royal enfield Himalayan...., miles better this one.

Way too heavy for a big single, but it's little brother the XT660R is 30Kg's lighter & 4K cheaper, the upshot is the power to weight ratio is much much better. It's the only equation that matters with motorbikes.

Hi there , I didn't travel Europe on a Tenere 660. I did long distance 2 up touring in Europe on a Honda Valkyrie, Honda Varadero and a Honda Pan European st1100 . I think the Tenere in my opinion would be a great one up bike for long distance . Reliable economical easy to work on and fun to ride. It is capable of hauling camping gear too. If you have the extra cash the Tenere 700 would be even better. That MT 700 engine is top notch.

@@maalmiksa7409 Not yet but i will be reviewing more bikes in 2021. My next bike will be suitable for 2 up touring but not so much off road unless you are a million dollar bogan.

hi, just subscribed to your channel, im going to ukraine next year, most of the riding through austria etc will be nice roads and good tarmac and was thinking of going for tiger 800xc but like the look of the xtz,just wondering would you recommend it for my trip, would it sit comfy enough doing 75mph on the good roads,also have you a comfort seat...thanks
Thanks Setter . Sounds like a great trip to look forward to. Austria is an amazing place to ride. I think id like the punchy parallel twin Tenere 700 over the triumph especially in the mountains. It would be my choice but others may not agree. Ive owned 2 Tiger 800 xr's and an XSR 700 and the later has the same punchy engine that is in the Tenere . I preferred that engine to the triple. However I haven't rode the Tenere 700 yet. I have ridden the XTZ1200 which is heavier but still has a bigger tank range and will carry more weight than both. I recommend a few episodes of bald and bankrupt to check out Ukraine :) Get test rides on all options if you can. Let us know what you decide on too and why!

How is the wind screen?
Hi, the stock screen wasnt to bad but I did change it to a taller after market one . It was about 100mm taller than stock.

Hello, what was your opinion on RT 1150 bmw please?
The RT1150 I had was a 2003 twin spark model . It was a very good bike I kept it for 30k miles . It is heavy and the abs modulator is prone to give trouble (mine didn't) . Imo BM bikes that are not ridden much seem to be more prone (pre 2009 ) . Its rumoured after that they sorted the abs) . It was always in the back of my mind too as they were at at the time €2500 to replace . Thus I sold it on . Having said that the brakes were servo assisted and very strong and linked . The Rt has really good hard cases and mine had a comfort seat which was great . 50mpg was not uncommon. And without the cases the bike could fairly hussle and handled well for such a big machine . It also burned about a litre of oil every 1500miles which is normal . Being oil/air cooled you don't leave them idling for any more than a couple of minutes . Final drives usually are refurbished at 45k . It's important to get a service history with the bike when buying as they need to be maintained on schedule . Expect corrosion on torque nuts/screws on front discs . Make sure no oil is leaking from final drive rubber . I hope this helps 👍

Thanks Gary . I forgot to say that protection from the elements on the RT is 10/10 even down to your feet . It has an electric screen heated grips . The SE version has a radio but not worth paying extra for at this stage as the 1150 was replaced by the 1200 in 2004 . 👍

Yes going to look at ex AA fast track 1150rt as well but bright yellow with 70k on it but full complete service history, 1100 is black 😜
