Hi! I just wanted to add that it is also well known that cats need greens to help them digest hair balls. For years most people thought they could only eat grass but within the last 10 years it has been discovered that cats can eat several vegetables that will also help them digest hair. I add spinach and broccoli to my cats' diet every day and, voila`!, no hair balls.
Also, I had a recent episode with my cat, who is now 10 years old. Last summer he developed a urinary tract infection (you can tell something is wrong when they start peeing every half-hour). I took him to the vet and we were able to clear it up with antibiotics.
But during our visit, the vet told me that older cats often begin having trouble digesting kibble (dry cat food) and they should not be fed this, as it can cause many problems-- including those mentioned in this video. I stopped the kibble for 6 months. Then, because he always seemed hungry and was becoming very aggressive about eating, I allowed him to have a smaller amount again. And, for a few weeks, he was fine.
Then he started throwing up every time he ate, even when it wasn't kibble. I stopped the kibble again and he stopped vomiting and hasn't since. But, because he's always hungry (you try living without any starch and see how hard it is; I have to), I tried to think of something else to add to his food. Finally, I realized plain white rice is very easy to digest and I started putting a teaspoon in his food once a day. I started doing that about 2 weeks ago and so far, so good. He seems more content and has not had any bad reactions.
    Older cats need more consideration.

This is a problem that most cats have. For us lovers of the feline world, it is necessary to take care of them.
