Try updating the firmware, factory reset, and check the fuse or relay equivalent for the head unit. It sounds like not enough power is getting to the radio sometimes if it shows a black screen. That’s just my general experience with dealing with cars and their audio systems. Good luck 👍🏻

@@KeithD305 I actually traded out of that car shortly after that and went to a Levante. It has not experienced the same issue as the Ghibli.
On the Meserati Ghibli go to your settings then to restore setting and press ok to reset it to default and it should start back working

I had the same problem on my 2017 Levante. A factory reset from the system menu resolved it.

Same unconnect I have in my Chrysler 300…. It’s the sound coming out of the front speaker that tells you navigation directions and phone calls. The only thing I’ve done to fix it is, turning the car off, opening the door, locking the car and waiting 5 minutes. Then getting back in and it’s fixed lol.
Just have to press the reset button on steering wheel
Tell him not to feel bad. My audio knob on my 2005 GTO sometimes does the opposite of what it should. It actually will turn it down, when I’m turning up. I have to keep trying it sometimes.
I have a 2014 ghibli I just began having the same issue. I just recently replaced the battery so I didn’t even think about that however I have replaced fuses to see if that’s t worked also disconnected negative battery pole for a little while n still no bueno. I’m going to try charging the battery n see what happens.🤷🏽♀️I will let y’all kno
My 2017 does the same thing. It’s sporadic and I can’t make it start working again without shutting off the car for an extended period of time.

I have 2014 ghibli. My radio screen has been flickering for while now it doesn't turn on anymore.i tried used radio but still not working.

I'm having a a similar issue with my '17 Ghibli. I just had the Hardon Kardon amp replaced under warranty but it didnt fix the issue. It doesn't happen that often but it seems it happens if I have my phone connected to the USB before I start the car, but not if I connect it after the car is started. Next time it happens I'm going to try the factory reset.
Did you end up finding the solution? I’m tired of doing the factory reset every so often to fix the issue.
@@thewiseguy7100 No. I'm just use to not having the phone connected before I start the car, and it doesn't happen. It does happen at times if I start the car with the phone connected to the USB and it's really annoying. I just don't use car play that drive and listen to the engine note lol. It's a glitch I can't figure out.
The problem lies with google i believe.... send yourself a text message and the volume resets to where its supposed to be
That’s why I’m not a fan of Maserati anymore. I’ve had countless problems with mine and they almost always never get it fixed for me and then come up with a bs answer to give me. Luckily mines a lease.

Unplug the negative pole on the rear battery for a couple of minutes
I would clean or replace radio fuse or and Accessories fuse for infotainment system. Or find a setting on radio to factory reset. Hope this works.

I have the same problem with my 2018 GT only after 4 months. In my case in addition to no audio, I don't even get the volume animation control. The whole progress bar is gone!!! I have no idea how to produce it, but every time it happens is when I just start the car. If I let the car sit for a while when the radio resets then it works again.
I'm having crazy problems with my radio with the front speakers not working. As I turn up the volume front speakers make a loud ring type noise. Took it in to Maserati and they're telling me it's a problem with the radio. Back ordered and Maserati is telling me there's no radio in the states or Italy. Help please... 4/26/19
Can't help here but dealership couldn't help me with my problem either. Again this morning the car wouldn't start. It reacts like there is battery failure but some time later and playing with the button of closing opening door it starts up later.
Thats so weird. They really need to get that fix. I wonder if its a battery problem...
Mines a 2014 and the stereo turned completely off. Imma go check the fuses first

Guys same thing happened to me, plug ur phone into usb and start apple carplay and then text yourself and call youself, you should hear the text sound and voicemail pop up.
Then right after all my sound worked again

Then call yourself using your phone and you should hear the voicemail audio on your car speakers. And tht should reset the audio, your radio etc should work. Mine did
I was told if you have a low battery the car goes into "safe mode" and that radio amplifier will not work.
I didnt even think to check the battery level. Good call.

I second xMiggy, either software update or Flash. Sounds like a software glitch to me. Dial is working mechanically as you can see the bar graph move from 0 to 38, and he can switch stations using the dial as well.
Thats probably the best thing to try right now, wouldnt hurt to give it a shot.

antonio locerto don’t even need navigation if said radio has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Just a native display.

Yeah thats why I dont care much for tech and why Im okay Maserati doesnt have a lot of it but most consumers want it unfortunately.
