a fucking masterpiece
I liked this lackluster sequel better thanks to this awesome song. In the 90's, no internet, no Napster, you could only listen to it again by rewatching the credits...
At the time, when I liked a music or song, I used to record it with an audio tape recorder, putting the microphone just in front of the TV speakers 😆 That was the only way to do it.
@@GillesNuytens Same here ! I still have this old K7, with terrible terrible audio quality. It's fun because I loved old themes of obscure horror movies and you restore them : who the hell remembers "Zombie 5 Killing Birds" ?! Well, you, and you put good audio versions online : good job, mate ! That movie scared the hell out of my 8 year old self. The music was so stressful, with those crazy synths and synthetic feel. Cant wait your take on the end credits.
@@GillesNuytens hahahah same !!!!
Those were the days
Times were so much simpler then

Show some RESPECT, and try to survive, on the darkest side!!!
The piano is lowkey, super sick
Also, great song for chest and back day.
Chilling Smooth. Relaxing listening.
I love how this is almost 11 minutes of goodness! Love this song and this movie. Huge Jason fan here. This takes me wayyyy back. That guitar 🎸 sound is EVERYTHING!
i know the feeling
@@kaffeice7 yes 🔥🤘🏼
Real cool story about this song. I bought the Metropolis CD back in 2000 because I loved this song and other AOR tracks from it. Since my friends and I knew it was from Friday the 13th, Part VIII - we went to a Rock and Bowl where we knew the DJ and he played this song.
After the solo, people were bobbing their heads, no lie.
I love this soundtrack from the movie, if I was living in New York especially the Manhattan nightlife I would play this song while I’m driving around late night the perfect late night vibe.
This takes me back to the first time I rented the VHS from the local video store and popped it in to the VCR to see Jason's new round of kills.
CLASSIC......soundtrack of my life.....SURVIVE OR DIE....SAD BUT TRUE......OUT HERE IN HATERVILLE ALONE TRYING TO KEEP MY HEAD ABOVE THE WATER.........THE DARKEST SIDE.........
This Song was the right choice for this Movie
It all came full circle. Jason drowned as a boy in Crystal Lake, then once more in the sewers of Manhattan in the final film in the original Paramount eight films.
Jason Takes Manhattan truly was the end of the series. It wrapped things up.
Absolute banger! Hope you can do the other iconic Friday songs like Lion-Love is a lie. Keep up the good work!
“THE DARKEST SIDE OF THE NIGHT!”
80's baby music. Who's here in 2023 rockin?
I’m here and I’m loving it! 🤟🏻
Facts!💯
Metropolis had some good music👍
You did an amazing work extending this song.
I ripped that Movie from Videostore-VHS to my VHS when i was about 14 Years old, that was the only way to get it in Germany.
Those Memories omg....i see that Rat from the Intro all Time when i listen to this great Song.
I watched the Credits so many Times just bcs of it😍
Thank you for the Extended Version, its awesome, i love it👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

What a great song seriously
I don’t understand why this song is not on spotify or itune?
Me pregunto lo mismo merecen estar en esas apps
Perfect, though you could remix a 20 minute version and I wouldn’t complain
The last two minutes alone are gold
Been liking this song for all these years, but just now hearing the extended version for the first time in 2022. WOW.
Living in a small town the movie theater also had movies you could checkout for 3 days. My mom would take me there on Fridays and I would always get Jason Takes Manhattan and A Nightmare on Elm Street for the weekend. Listening to this song takes me back to a simpler time.
Damn, great mix! Thanks! 👍 Respect alot of the 80s stuff way more now than I ever did back then!
First heard this song 2 years ago and have listened to it well over 100 times since. Such great vibes for late night cruising. Now I won't have to hit the "replay" button as much lol. Thanks.
this is a classic I most of the time listen to on Fridays loud in my car on the way home it just feels damn good I tell ya ..smile :)
You are AWESOME!! 🤟🏻
This song takes me back to my street kid days. Foster parents who didn’t care, hanging downtown with a bad crowd, they used to call me Jr Pipes due to my large muscular arms as a 16 year old. I cut my teeth in some wars…
cool story
"large muscular arms as a 16 year old" i bet
@@MyFriendOfMisery13 real men only 💯
@@kaffeice7 that’s nothing. Stick around and I’ll tell you about the Columbo Family/ O’Malley family turf wars. Both sides wanted me bad, but I was planning on my starting my own gang then. Ended up becoming enforcers for the highest bidders, all we would do is pump iron and listen to this jam 24/7. Ever get the call for a big job deep in the pump of a good workout. All I can say is, if I’m getting that call, while deep in the pump, look out for my, darkest side…
And Jason probably kicked your boomboxes out of the way in the process.
Thanks for this long version. Not the best Friday but this song brings back a lot of memories. When life was all about video store, cinema theater with Friends and easy times. Thanks 🙏
My fav Friday the 13th part alongside with part 6. An besides: Gilles, you're a gourmet.
I agree 100%. Part VIII and VI are the best movies of the whole franchise.
Part 2 is definitely up there.
“It’s like this…we live in claustrophobia.”
It's more likely in "Hypocondria" now.
“It’s like this: we live in hypochondria. A land of social media and inflation. There is no escape, even though we want it.”
Nova York, anos 80, Jason no auge foi a melhor Década sem dúvidas
I'll be listening to this on my way to see Scream 6 this weekend! All too fitting!
"Ghostface Takes Manhattan" 🗽🔪😂
Jason Takes Manhattan is instantly what I thought of when I saw the new Scream trailer. Us old timers remember!
I wish they’d used this in Scream 6.
That movie is taking advantage of the New York setting than Friday did. I wish Jason Takes Manhattan had more of the Big Apple in it. It would have been so cool.
so when are Michael and Freddy taking Manhattan? Or will they take Chicago instead?
Michael takes Chicago would be heat @@MrRobjs83
Awesome! This takes me back to such a great time. What I wouldn’t give to relive it all over again……..#80sBabiesAreTheGreatest
(I love this song! This song rocks! Imagine if J.J. heard this at 6:13 !)
I remember this year because it made me so sad that it was the last year of the lamborghini countach. They made an announcement of the final production 1989 .
The most beautiful car lamborghini ever produced.
This is awesome
Bom dia meu amigo
Nossa e muito romântico
I know this movie was a box office bomb, but at least this music is still catchy.
I'm the only one but it's my favorite Friday the 13th movie. I know it's bad but the nostalgia gets me. I was 8 and mom didn't monitor my movies and I rented part 8. Watched it at night and it terrified me. When this song plays it takes me back to when I seen it for the first time and I can even smell the popcorn from the movie rental store lol
@@josephcasner626 what’s your favorite kill out of the franchise?
@@josephcasner626 Dude this is one of my favorites too because it's the 2nd Friday The 13th movie I got to see in the theater (Friday the 13th part 7 The New Blood was the first). I also love the strong supernatural elements in this part that reminded me more of an A nightmare on Elm street film (my favorite horror franchise). I loved Rennie's flashbacks and hallucinations. I saw it three times the summer it was at the theater with my favorite viewing was when me and three other friends movie hopped and snuck in to see this one because we were too young to get in with a ticket. Great times and great movie. I don't care what others say.
@@hshawn00 I am jealous you got to see it in theaters. Two movies I would love to see in theaters is Friday the 13th Part 8 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4. The Nightmare franchise is my favorite horror franchise too. I was the only kid that dressed up as Freddy for Halloween for six straight years at my school lol.
@@josephcasner626 Wow! I would have loved to dress up as Freddy for Halloween! I did get to dress up like Jason for a haunted house during Halloween. It was fun channeling all of the things I'd taken in over the years from watching all of the Friday The 13th films. It was a cool experience getting to see Friday the 13th parts 7, and 8 and Nightmare on Elm Street 4 on the big screen. I also got to see A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 in the theaters. You sound like someone I would get along great with!
This movie could've been way better,if the director got his budget he wanted

Thank you! I've been saying that for ages! The critics are too smug to understand that! I love the movie for what it is because the effort wasn't lost.
The only opening song that can compete with this was part 3

There's four reasons I like this movie jason Voorhees the music two arrogant jerks die and the twin towers are still up.
Jason brought me here ;)
Aquí comenzo mi romance con la saga, nunca la había visto y me enamoré del Jason, volví atrás para ver todas sus pelis y no hay pierde, amo todas sus cintas. Y esta música es de primera.

@@generationwhyentertainment2455, Children of the Night from Maniac Cop 2 is a very good song I really love. If anybody can provide me a REAL lossless version of that song, I'll make it extended. I have the song but it's 128kbps upscaled into 320kbps (which is useless).

I’d get you if you were talking about today but get that disrespect outta ya mouth when speaking about the OGs of Hip Hop from back in the day.
Nope - that was garbage, too.
Come on if rap was crap we would've been heard this classic redone a few times by now.
Present day rap for sure. But 80s and 90s rap was my favorite.
