Hi. It was a comfort to hear that you don't plan on paper either. I thought it was just me. 😊

Thanks for this, you have given me some inspiration today. I am about to plant up a raised flower bed and I too want it to be more cottage garden than anything too structured. I always start with good intentions and ideas and usually fall woefully short but I have a nice selection of plants recently bought and I also plan to split some exsisting plants too. I have some very old Ox-Eye daisies in a large pot and they never really come to much, I am hoping to split them and give them a go at the back of my border, my motto is give it a try and see what happens! wish me luck! Thanks again.

A very helpful video.. for a novice gardner like me. I always wondered how to get
the number of new plants needed for a border correct without making it look too bare?

Thanks for this - we actually discussed the question in our podcast episode (out this Sunday 11th) but in short - it's a question of giving it some time - if a plant details say it'll grow to 2m x 2m then give it that space but it might take time to reach that size - can always fill in with bedding plants in the interim - hope that helps in short term but for a longer answer have a listen to the podcast - will try to remember to link to it here once it's live! -Sean
