Saw these guys open for Type O Negative in Boston circa 97'. The version of Plowed I saw that night is the greatest live performance I have seen ever. Hands down.
Omg awesome love type O also..never saw them rip Peter..my nephews band opened for Sponge in NYC small venue I’m blank on mane right now..his band is called Aways Away..it was amazing
I absolutely believe this. Sponge was a very tight band during the Wax Ecstatic days. This was probably an incredible show, as October Rust is in my Top 100 albums of all time.
I'm from West Michigan, and I got to see Sponge a number of times over the years in Grand Rapids. They always rocked it. I was very lucky to have been a teenager in the mid 90's, as we had a thriving rock scene here in GR, and I got to see a lot of great 90's alternative rock bands for free (or close to it). Sponge, The Verve Pipe, Papa Vegas....just in Michigan we had a lot of great bands. Those were the days!
One of the best grunge songs of all time. I met Vinnie right before Halloween last year and he was one of coolest musicians ive ever met. Same goes for joey mazzola there old guitarist who was surprised i even knew what sponge was
Plowed Sponge Will I wake up Is it a dream I made up No I guess it's reality What will change us Or will we mess up Our only chance to connect With a dream Say a prayer for me I'm buried by the sound In a world of human Wreckage I'm lost and I'm found And I can't touch the Ground I'm plowed into the sound To see wide open With a head that's broken Hang a life on a tragedy Plow me under the ground That covers the message That is the seed
@@daniell1125 Thanks for that, you're right much better. This performance guy was so out of breath, he had to "round off" words, or skipped them entirely.
@@daniell1125 "seems to be pretty cool with the fans though" Reminds me of seeing Iggy & the Stooges at Riot Fest; Dozen or so, Women run up on stage & Iggy never missed a note; just kept singing & accepting kisses on the cheeks; They all got a kiss on the cheek in on Iggy Pop and simply went back down to the crowd, happy as could be. Security & just the Women being nice about it was so cool, had people laughing, and just having a good time..
Classic song ,, Listening in 2024
Forever and always. Until we die
The drummer is a machine
Charlie Grover! He’s a monster on the kit. He was my drum teacher in MI. for a while. Awesome dude. And married one of the coolest girls ever.
I always considered this song one big giant chorus. The energy!
This song is still so powerful. Tears running down my cheeks.

Sounds Iike a great show! What venue in Boston was that at? Avalon?

One of my favorite 90s songs
FoxNewsChannelSux mine too
95 year I graduated H.S, always loved this song...
90s are the best
What a great commanding voice. If Collective Soul had this singer, that would be interesting back in 1994.
the dueling Strats and epic toneful note holds and excellent melodic counterpoint really make this song - excellent tones from Joey and Mike
You're goddamned spot on. These are really, really good musicians.

RIP Mike Cross. Thanks for the ripping riffs.
Didn’t know he passed. Sad.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows. I was sad.
A song that reflects the power and angry of the 90s
Damn. these guys sound good!! Always love them. RIP Mike Cross.
My man Vinnie is the love child of Scott Weiland and Johnny Rotten
Saw them twice at New Years shows, got all their autographs on a Vinyl too Awesome!
Such a great band
jb fuckin' tv! that used to be the shit. I loved late night cable access.

Thanks for posting. Two thumbs up.
If at any time in the world someone asks you what the 90s were like, just show this video and that's enough.
Una de los grandes éxitos de los 90.. Excelente..
Sponge are awesome band from the 90's
Awesome
He looks like a young Johnny Rotten
I think he looks like John Waite.
Definitely showing the punk rock-influenced sounds in Sponge's sound & songwriting.
Gran banda. La mejor del alternativo.
Plowed
Sponge
Will I wake up
Is it a dream I made up
No I guess it's reality
What will change us
Or will we mess up
Our only chance to connect
With a dream
Say a prayer for me
I'm buried by the sound
In a world of human
Wreckage
I'm lost and I'm found
And I can't touch the
Ground
I'm plowed into the sound
To see wide open
With a head that's broken
Hang a life on a tragedy
Plow me under the ground
That covers the message
That is the seed
smilsmff we know.
Berry nice 🇲🇽
the 2010s suck!!
Yeah they definitely sucked.
The 2020s would like a word.
@@Riffmaster227 lol yeah.... "Hold my beer"

I didn't know Martin Short was a singer
90s was the best decade for rock.

2020

His nose is very Polish
That's a very weird thing to say about someone, it's funny, but weird.
He is polish my friend
Jennifer Price the last name Dombroski sounds polish to, pretty sure he is. This is coming from a polish guy lol
Wow this is so completely different sounding than the album version
check out our full band cover of this song! czcams.com/video/BsOxNz9L5UM/video.html
Cool song, but the worst singer ever;
Half the time he isn't even coherently singing.
I wouldn't go that far, but he probably could've enunciated the lyrics better in this. Here's a better one: czcams.com/video/qe9TDjLyvTY/video.html
