I realized that too, after I had already uploaded this one. Will do so, but for now these are the two simple steps. 1. Press and hold the "lock" button for three seconds. Buttons are located on the right side panel of the fridge. Then, 2. Press and hold the filter reset button. That's it. Thank you for watching:)
When he inserted new filter, there is a pressure/suction type sound and there may be a little water like you saw come out because of the reconnection. Hold the filter change button 3 seconds and it didn't ding/chime for me, but did stop flashing. So far, so good. Be sure to use your water dispenser with a glass as there will be a shot of forced air coming out when you test it. ❤
got new fridge on Friday and the installation guys could not get the water to work. They were going to bring me a new fridge. I uninstalled the filter and reinstalled it and now the water works. Must have had some kind of air lock on it. thanks!
It’s kinda tricky. Press and hold the bottom “lock” button for three seconds. Then press and hold the ice maker (water filter)button for three seconds to reset. :)
You mention that you didn't cut off the water. The instructions tell you to cut off the water. I removed it as you suggested without cutting off the water and it leaked badly.
I would think that it would matter so if I were you, I would do a little more research to make sure. It might not but it’s better to be safe. Thank you for watching.
It would also be VERY helpful to show how to reset the blinking light on the control panel. That's what I tuned in to see. Thanks!

Thank you, I couldn't figure out how to install the filter and your video helped me.

Thank you for the video. Helped me.
Wow! Love this. Thanks so much!
Very Helpful, thank you Blessings
Glad it was helpful!
How do I reset the filter light??????? I think I have same model??
It’s kinda tricky. Press and hold the bottom “lock” button for three seconds. Then press and hold the ice maker (water filter)button for three seconds to reset. :)

It didn’t leak but a few drops but i will most likely turn the water off next time:)
Yeah this just happened to me!
I wonder what the difference is for the internals of each.
Not sure.
I have the letters "SG" at the end of my model number. does this play an impact in what filter to use?
I would think that it would matter so if I were you, I would do a little more research to make sure. It might not but it’s better to be safe. Thank you for watching.
@@edandg I'm good
May be a dumb question, but I don't use the water dispenser on the fridge but do use the ice maker. Do I still need to replace them as often?
I would if I were you. But it’s probably not going to stop working if you don’t
what temp your fridge and freezer set too cant seem to get the ice maker to work?
@@241troystreet sounds like temp may not be the problem You should call cyst service
did you turn off the water?
No. :)
Changed mine now my fridge hums when I dispense water. Used a Samsung OEM filter too no idea why it’s humming now when water is dispensed
If it’s not leaking I wouldn’t worry. But it’s interesting
I don’t ish you would’ve shown you putting it in
Wheres the water filter replacement light indicator? I can't find it in the manual. Thanks
On the panel inside right side sill where temp is displayed. It will display when filter needs changed
Did you have to turn off the water supply to the refrigerator before you installed the filter?
I didn’t. But some others are saying their fridge leaked. So you might want to turn it off
Yep, they're cheaper, but they void the warranty.
What is the best temperature for freezer?
Ours came pre set to zero. Has worked so far for us.
Any feedback on how these water filters worked out for you?
They work well. Have had no issues. Thank you for watching!:)
Cannot get filter light to turn off
Do you know where the freezer filter is located??? I can't seem to find mine I have the same fridge
I am not aware if it even has one.
Lmk if you find it
do you have to turn off the water line first?
I didn’t and it was fine without leaking. Others have said it leaked
@@edandg so i’d have to pull the fridge out of the wall and get behind it to turn off the water line?
@@funkyfreshtx yes. But again, other than a drop or two of water it didn’t leak for me.
Is there a taste difference?
Not that I’ve noticed:)
Hi, do you know what model your filter is?
If you have an Amazon link would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

The model number for the one that came with the fridge is HAF-QIN/EXP Samsung
DA97-17376B HAF-QIN/EXP Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter
Ours shoots water EVERYWHERE when old filter is removed. First filter change btw. Not a fan of samsung at this point!
Don’t blame you
I would feel same way.
3 minutes too long
Still had time to comment though :). Thank you:)
