Abdominal CT will almost never detect adrenal Adenoma or Hyperplasia. You need to do a PET Scan of the Adrenals. Serious. You will misdiagnose if you don’t do a PET

First vignette: doesn't renovascular hypertension cause high renin > high aldosterone > hypertension and low potassium as well (secondary hyperaldosteronism)? Second vignette: plasma aldosterone/renin ratio will show that she has secondary hyperaldosteronism, but it won't reveal its 'cause', which is what's asked in the question, right? Hello, I have a question if you don't mind. I just took the blood test and Aldosterone was in the normal range, my Renin Activity, Plasm were LOW and my Aldos/Renin Ration was HIGH. The numbers ranged from 1-30 and mine was a 35. What does that mean?
