    1:20 My favorite butterfly effect moment ever in a movie.
    Charlie decided to get one more candy bar. Because he was thinking about his grandpa. He was acting selfless. And it rewarded him the Wonka bar with the golden ticket. It was not only a good butterfly effect, it also really fit in the story showing just how kind hearted Charlie is and how that kindness eventually rewarded him the factory.

      Thanks you. I hear so many people saying the opposite for hearing he charged. He was friendly and helped Charlie win. It's not like there's a deleted scene where the other kids say I have no money and he still gives it. Too many people say rumors of all the adult characters are bad. It's all rubbish. Except Wonka is a serial killer. That I believe.

    • @SuperODST1
      @SuperODST1 Před 2 lety +9

      @@andywinslow9638 IIRC, the justification for the rich kids is that their parents would pay for it; the shop owner charges Charlie for this cuz his family doesn't have a registration or tab or whatever with them. And he's still just as nice to Charlie as he is to the other kids! All the adults and kids in the film are written very well. Even Wonka with his serial killerness, because he's actually good with kids, like he knows how to talk to them as we see when he first shows up, he just chooses not to be at multiple points in the film; perhaps being good with kids makes it even worse😅

      Are you sure you're clear on what the word instantly means? Charlie scarfed down nearly half the bar before he reminded him he hadn't yet paid. He actually handed that bar over to Charlie prior to being paid, so what you're saying is just wrong. Besides for which, 1. those kids are likely his regulars, and by the way how do you know they're rich? Just because they aren't dirt poor doesn't mean they're rich either. 2. That opening scene is clearly to play up the fantasy and wonder the candy shop has for Charlie who is poor, and isn't an actual representation of how the shop is. Notice in this scene all the other customers aren't being sang to and showered with candy, and Charlie doesn't seem surprised by this normal shop behavior.
      ...
      Charlie is a kid. Kids are easily distracted, and Charlie himself was so focused on eating the candy, he didn't even seem to be aware the shopkeeper was speaking too him. Is it really that surprising said shop keeper might suspect he'd be so involved, he might forget he hadn't paid?

    Roald Dahl disowned the film, the script of which was partially rewritten by David Seltzer after Dahl failed to meet deadlines. Dahl said he was "disappointed" because "he thought it placed too much emphasis on Willy Wonka and not enough on Charlie", as well as the casting of Gene Wilder instead of Spike Milligan. He was also "infuriated" by the deviations in the plot Seltzer devised in his draft of the screenplay, including the conversion of Slugworth, a minor character in the book, into a spy (so that the movie could have a villain) and the "fizzy lifting drinks" scene.
