Could be the OG of Mice fans or people that just liked their original music that don't like the softness of how their music has become. Personally I love their older songs much much better. But it's their music and I still support what they do cause they're great people.

Not to be the negative Nancy here, but the time I was religious was when I was the most suicidal. I saw this life as a waste and I prayed for the afterlife to be better. When I stopped believing I learned to value this life more. That's just my views though, I know the concept of a god has saved people in the past and still does.

I know what Of Mice & Men usually sound like, but this sounds really good. Vocally, it's very clean sounding with catchy tones and strong lyrics. Musically, it's a work of art. I LOVE that part when everyone stops playing except the lead guitarist when he says "Start, *stop* , start over again". And the heavy part of the song sounds like it was so much fun to create. Don't get me started on the transitions from each measure. It's all so damn good.
I'm not even a huge fan of this band, but I really enjoy great musicianship. And it's mixed very well too. A bit bass heavy, but I like it because I'm a bassist myself lol.
So according to a lot of butthurt fans who are complaining that they've "BECOME SOFT" just know that ALL their albums have soft songs and plus, REMEBER PAIN? THAT SHIT WAS PRETTY FUCKING METAL

I enjoy Dayshell more, but you're exactly right that he clearly wouldn't have kept them going in a Metalcore direction. It's like Dayshell went in a Deftones-ish direction and now oM&M is going Linkin Park. This song has more of a radio single feel to it than Carsick, imo. This might have a little more up-front aggression, but it sounds like the sort of hard rock/metal that ends up on the stations that cater to that genre but are still really mainstream.
Saw these guys yesterday in NY & it was literally THE best day of my life. At first, I thought the album was ok but after listening to it again and seeing them my mind was changed. I can't wait to see how they're keep changing
