📚 History:
Ménerbes, a village in Provence, France, has a history that goes back to the Paleolithic era. It was named after Minerva, the Roman goddess, and belonged to the Papal state of Comtat Venaissin . During the religious wars, it was a Huguenot bastion and withstood a long Catholic siege . Many historical buildings, like the Citadel and the 16th and 17th century houses, still stand. The village has been a magnet for artists, such as Picasso, Maar, and Mayle.

Visit the charming village of Ménerbes and admire its historical buildings, such as the Castelet, the house of Dora Maar, and the churches. Explore the ancient Abbey of Saint-Hilaire, a former convent that dates back to the 13th century and has a sober and elegant architecture.
