Awesome video! I’m a professional tech and I took a lot of tips from Doug’s shop tour, and the other tour video too- an experienced word of caution: be careful when putting 4 swivel casters on a tool box- when all 4 casters are turned in- the centre of gravity is now further to the centre of the box. Won’t make a difference with a drawer-less cart, but with a tool box with drawers, the weight of a heavy drawer will flip the box on its face when it’s opened. That’s the reason boxes have only 2 swivel wheels. :)
Amazing content! I appreciate all you post- we’re kinda 2 peas in a pod- firewood- tractors- sawmills. Healthy country lifestyle.
    Cheers my friend, Jeff

I had built a crash cart back when I was doing locksmithing. Code machine and key duplicator on the top shelf. And hand tools on the bottom. I would be in a office building and push my cart from one work Oder to another work order. I did this back in the early 1980’s. Even though I’m disabled now, I still have my crash cart.

  • @greenwoodsbushhogging6704

Had a friend of mine that worked off the ground more than he worked standing as well. He took an old creeper frame and made a tool cart off it. The highest thing was only like 1 1/2ft high, which was a removable screwdriver set. He wired up a work light on the side and everything. It just takes a little thought and experience to figure out what you want/need to make the job easier.

Wranglerstar is a tool. Pun slightly intended. He had a few good videos from way back in the day that drew me in. I got tired real quick with the click bait titles, the constant negativity, and really, just his general personality. One reason I love Adam's videos is he's always positive and always trying to help others out, such as with the organization series. I never finish a video feeling more down then before, rather the opposite. I'm sure Wranglerstar has his positives from time to time. I just don't have enough time to watch content that brings me down like his channel does.

His paranoia is unnerving. The video he put out showing him chasing down some poor guy for flying a drone near his property was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. When I poured the floor first on my shop, I still had to work and so I threw a tent up on that floor so I had a surface to work off of. I had a cart much like this one and did the same thing you have done here except on the back side of mine, I had some plywood attached to it and layed out my different pry bars. I had drilled holes along the sides for sticking in as well as those phony socket organizers that the size was on the little plastic peg sticking up. Those couldn't be seen or read them after a couple of uses. It worked for some time till the walls were up and stuff just changes over time. I had worn the other wheels out.

Four swivels are harder to control when you're moving the cart around the shop and are unstable. The swivels can catch on something and flip the cart over. It's worse when the cart is top heavy from the weight of the tools or parts. Two fixed wheels keeps the cart oriented in a more stable position.

Great job as usual. The miter saw mount was nothing short of brilliant. I love the totes for the wood. If you can’t get a hold of the totes, I wonder if you could use rebar? I am not sure what would be best, 3/8” or 1/2”? You could use a torch and bend the 4 corners around a pipe mandrel. I’d make 4 or 5 sections then cut straight pieces to connect it all together. Make your own pallet to set them on. I think the modified tool cart Doug uses is great too. He is 100% correct, smarter not harder. I think the “other channel” means we’ll, but Doug clearly is on the right path here. He could perhaps make a place to stow a bottle jack on the lower shelf.

I feel like Doug (and myself too) use tools differently than Wranglerstar. He said in his video that all he used is 3/8" sockets and a 3/8" impact. With that in mind, it seems that he is doing light work. I have seen him tinker with motorcycles...light work. As for Doug, he is using the 1/2" drive and delving into heavier work (not professional homeowner work). With this in mind, I bet Wranglerstar could keep most of the tools he would ever need for the work he does, on a cart. When I worked in a shop, I would take the tools that I needed for a job and put them on a cart, and take them to the job. At the end of the job, I would bring the cart back to my box, and wipe the tools and put them away, and be ready for the next job. Again, very different use than I see Wranglerstar doing. Hope this makes sense.

The ABCs of good, encouraging CZcams content: Adam from hometown acres, Billy from Buckin' Billy Ray Smith, Cody from Wranglerstar, and Doug the always helpful and generous. Down the line a ways at M we, of course, have Mark Rober.
Love the content, looks like you're keeping busy, thanks for the window into your pond life!

Kudos for giving Wranglerstar some props. While I enjoy his channel, I most certainly don’t agree with everything... like 95%, which is better than most. I keep my tools very well organized, and take pride in that (though just in a 3 car garage). One guy came over to help with my sisters cars and complimented me for my organization. That absolutely made my day and I still think of it. A little thought and effort goes a long way.
