  • i'm starting a new series about the basics of flying machines in minecraft (commonly referred to as "slimestone" by the tech community), and how to use them in practical scenarios. for the first episode i'm sticking to the basics (pun intended), by going over basic engines, basic return stations, and basic extensions. next video i will go over how versatile these extensions and engines are by showing how many different variants there are, since i only went over a few designs in this video.
    update: thanks for all the kind comments, they keep me motivated to make more videos!

    I just started a redstone channel and I’m so glad I found this series, I’ve always just looked at massive flying machines full of strange instant extension mechanics and just decided it was too complicated to try and understand. Now I can look at them and really get a feel for what each part is doing

      thanks for letting me know. i ultimately included it because while it's not required knowledge to be good at slimestone, i felt that it would be good to include because it provides a basis for understanding WHY something works, which makes the entire concept seem less like magic.

    I'm pretty decent at all things "minecraft"... but flying machines have always been the bane of my existence. I just never really understood how to make them "fancy" unless I'm following a tutorial (yes I can do the simple engine/line type, but as soon as extensions are involved I'm lost).. And I love ilmango, been watching him for years.. however Your video has really helped click a few things into place for me, so I can't wait to jump into creative and give some ideas a try! Thanks mah'dude! - thumb'd & sub'd

      Checking in again because, like I said, prior to this video I was pretty decent at most minecraft things, and I loved redstone, but never "got" flying machines without tutorials... Now I'm building my own contraptions, extensions and multipurpose tools, thanks to this video! Noice job mah'dude!

    Will TNT dupers work at 3.3 blocks per second? e.g. for a quicker world eater/tunnel bore?
    I was hoping to see extensions added to flying machines just like that just mentioned - tnt dupers, so we can stick such modules together to build our own world eaters/tunnel bores sized to our personal needs.

    • @voiding_
      @voiding_  Před 2 lety

      yes, it is possible to make them both horizontally and vertically. they can even be moved in a third direction if you make a moving sequence for it. fun fact, i am actually using a two way instant extension that goes up and down for a quarry i am making, and i am able to push it forward every slice.
