  • Located at the base of the eastern side of Table Mountain, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is an amazing place to visit. The diversity of plants is astounding. The gardens include an "extinction" section where endangered plants are protected.
The entrance price is reasonable. For South Africans (current as of June 2024), it costs R100 for adults. Foreign nationals pay R230. Regardless your status, Kirstenbosch is well worth a visit. Plan on spending a half or an entire day.

Thanks for reminding me how beautiful our Botanical Gardens are. Have not been there in a while. Gonna make a plan to visit again.

Kirstenbosch is a wonderful legacy. The staff take a lot of trouble with programmes. I know they have firefly evenings in November which is on my bucket list.

Thanks for a wonderful show depicting our beautiful botanical gardens. Unfortunately you did not seem to find the Boomslang which is situated above the trees and moves gently from side to side depending on the number of people using this walkway. It is quite a distance away from where you were standing when you mentioned it at the end of your trip in the gardens. It is quite a long way off from there. Perhaps next time when you are visiting Cape Town. Something to look forward to.
