Sergio was ALLOWED to win to make the new ifbb look openminded and not racist like nabba or aau etc, plus he was so far ahead of anyone, including arnold they couldnt deny him
ps.they said dorian won because ifbb didnt want to make it look like a black dominated sport after 8 haney wins, so the new mr O "had" to be a white man

@@TheLusianPopa Sergio had no separation in any muscle group. I've never heard the lame excuse that he never flexed his legs. That is just beyond laughable. He had big arms, football biceps with no peak, a small waist with wide lats. His calves were average at best. Sergio's chest couldn't compare. His back, while thick had no detail nor did his legs, and who really judges a bodybuilding competition on forearms?
Arnold had a better presentation, more charisma and always came in better condition than Sergio. After Arnold lost the first time, he improved to the point where he never lost to Sergio again. Again, proving Arnold was the better bodybuilder. Or, maybe Arnold won because Sergio didn't flex his legs...LMAO.

    • @TheLusianPopa
      @TheLusianPopa Před 5 lety +1

@@preservationwealthmanageme3184 sergio didn alot of stuff that made him "appear" smoother than he was
the excessive use of baby oil, which under stage lights washes him out
overdoing the backstage pump, by actually engorging a muscle with blood you are losing some definition, this is something arnold actually mentions in one of his books
as for the not flexing his legs most of the time, i guess john hansen doesnt know shit either eh?
Because the contest was being filmed by ABC-TV’s Wide World of Sports, the stage was flooded with bright lights for the benefit of the television cameras. Sergio made the mistake of slapping on too much baby oil before he stepped onstage and the strong lights made him look too glossy and smooth.
Just like after his loss to Frank Zane in 1968, Arnold analyzed why he was defeated by Oliva at the 1969 Mr. Olympia. He obtained film of Oliva posing to study his physique and take note of his strong points and weak points. He noticed how he hit his poses and where the weak links in the armor would be.
When Arnold met Sergio onstage one year later, he put his plan into action. For all his genetic gifts and his incredible work ethic (Oliva, unlike Arnold, worked a full-time job involving physical labor before commencing his brutal 3 hour workouts every day), Sergio was lazy on the posing platform. Often, he would leave his legs unflexed when hitting an upper body pose or he would not properly contract all the muscles when hitting a back pose. Arnold took note of this and worked on his posing routine even harder, only including poses in which he looked his absolute best.
I guess you know better than him right
i already broke it down pose by pose
i gues you also forgot to say he also had way better quads, shoulders than arnold hahaha
sergios chest couldnt compare?how so?it was just as thick and super wide and shapely.Arnolds was a little more square and lower attachment but that certainly doesnt translate into very superior
back detail?john hansen explains it for me
forearms are half the upper limb kid
as for his calves beig average?LOL they were huge and in proportion to his thighs, arnold had huge claves but small thighs, so his overall top to bottom leg development was whack.
better presentation?yeah but sergios beats him 5-2 in the mandtaories LOL
More charisma?ppl actually tend to underrate how charismatic sergio was and tend do overrate how charismatic arnold was for some reason.Arnold was very nervous when on stage, especially against sergio,
always in better condition?NO Only in 1970 he had better condition( when arnold advised sergio to bulk up 15 lb lol), 72 it was equal at least, and in 69 sergios was better
in 72 arnold admitted he was the only guy NOT IN SHAPE so dont even try
improved what?other than condition he didndt really improve his lagging legs, shoulders, triceps, forearms or make his waist any smaller
arnold was the business partner of weider, and under contract and on all his covers even before mr O
didnt weider say , anfd this yopu can verify
i put sergio on the cover i sell x magazines, i put arnold on the cover i sell 3x magazines
do we really, REALLY, need to say more?

Flex doesn't realize that judging is not based on a "perfect scores". They judge it by positions. If there are 7 judges, high and low are thrown out. the other five judges felt Dorian was first, therefore giving him a 1, 1 x 5= 5 points (per round) Whoever placed second would have been given 2 or 3 depending on the how the judges see that person. They see the number 1 as a perfect score when it's just the position they are in. I don't know how Flex Wheeler doesn't know this.

But As said by Arnold, Flex's physique at that 99 Arnold show was the best he ever saw on stage. But you are right, Yates took Bodybuilding to a new level, but also was where bodybuilding starting going wrong and physiques got away from the shape and aesthetics into a weird looking freak show. Sergio was just being nice. No one thought Flex shoulda won '93, that was one of the most insane packages ever bought to the stage. But after the bicep injury, this highlighted a problem with the current judging criteria, it allowed someone to have a flaw and not be punished severely enough. There is no way he should be walking away with perfect scores because simply put his front double bicep was never gonna trump any of the guys with non bicep tears every again. It's not a front thigh, calves and lat flare pose, its a friggin' front double bicep pose. Not saying DY didn't deserve some of those Sandow's but I think 6 was too many, he prolly shoulda won about 4.
They still have not fixed the judging mess, and here we see the 2023 Arnold Classic Nick Walker controversy loss as evidence. Whereas before DY was winning because of the mandatory poses (he wins the majority), now we have an athlete who clearly was winning the majority of the mandatories now not winning the competition overall.
