Amazing to think he is a self taught guitarist and didn't start playing until he was in his twenties. Great talent!
One of my all time favourite songs, sooo underrated. We're all on that road, violence, greed, environment pollutions, diversions between people and so on
"This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway.... oh no, this is the road to Hell"... (whew)
Love Chris Rea .. such a deep, yet soft, timbre voice 👌
Amazing musician from my neck of the woods in the North East of England
Britain is littered with talent, it's everywhere.
Chris always wanted to be a rockstar but never ever saw himself as one he was a very talented musician with a fantastic voice. But recently has actually been through hell with regards his health but thankfully Chris is still with us and doing what he does best writing and singing great songs god bless you Chris the very best rockstar that never ever got the recognitions he most certainly deserved.
Chris is a very underrated guitarist. Cheers
Chris Rea is one of the best ever.
And welcome to 2022, where we finally realise that we were all on the road to hell.
I love Chris Rea. Soon at Christmas time... Driving home for Christmas
Joys of christmas
When Rea wanted to release the Road To Hell, his record company were totally against it even been remotely released. They feared it would be a massive Flop because of the song and albums title but of course they were wrong... Road To Hell stayed at number 1 for over 4 weeks. Chris Rea's financial woes were over and he became a huge success. Before "Road To Hell" he was a very well known and respected musician through out the late 70's and all of the 80's but his career was stopping and starting up until 1989.
thanksss so much souvenirs of my teenagehood
Saw Chris live in South Africa, one concert only, was blown away and been a fan ever since. early 80's
"Theoretically" this song is about the M25 motorway encircling London notorious for the traffic jams. Chris is also from Middlesbrough as am I and in the late 70's/80's lots of us moved to London looking for a better life/job but many fell into problems and trouble and we actually used to say to each other when we heard a friend was leaving for London that "they're going on the road to hell". Apparently.......
Close. Defo M25 aka The Magic Roundabout or Europe's biggest traffic jam. 119 miles.
I also never heart the intro, but it was mysterious and I loved it. I liked the whole song. A bleusy feel to it. 👌
you gotta do Tell Me There's A Heaven; knowing your reactions, you will love that - Chirs at his best
Chris Rea is my favourite musician other than Pink Floyd. This song and album being my favourite of his work. It took me a while to realise Chris Rea is actually from my country, the UK. I always thought he sung like an American cowboy.
Love his work, I was just thinking as I watching this with you that he makes me think of Leonard Cohen but a Blusier version.
Watchin these reactions for the past couple of years now I am thoroughly convinced that i grew up at the best time for our histories music.
Leonard has my playlist since the 70s good stuff
This is a masterpiece ! Try Texas and aurberge you will love them
Put Mark Nophler and Chris Rea on stage together you got an explosion of excellent expert guitar playing…
WOW!!
this song is great bud you must listen to it without stops
For me an early song about the pollution. Just the line, it boils of every poison you can think of.
Nice reaction 👍new sub like , damn I was young the time it came out😂. Have a nice day mate
The best song love it ❤🎼🎶🎤🎧🎸❤😊
Written about the London ring road called the M25. Apparently a nightmare road to travel.
One of the greatest tracks ever.
Legend & Icon. One of the most respected artists around,
I am glad that you did the full version! That 'intro' where he has the conversation with his mother was cut out of the radio edit. It really sets the atmosphere for the entire song.
This song 30 years old and some. Still right on the spot maybe even more now. Thos lyrics make you think and think again. Hopefully we will learn the lesson before its too late. 😎
do you know, friend, the enigma project? if not, maybe this will be the most mystical journey for you))
He predicted the fate of California in 1989.
Another side of Chris check out the orchestration on this and apologize if this rips your heart out ..... Chris Rea - Tell Me There's A Heaven......czcams.com/video/T-6FmYqIeps/video.html
You must react to " God's great banana skin" That's a funny, but an amazing rock song😎!!
The whispers at the beginning are Indian voices. I assume they're stopped over old tribal grounds.
Love love love this Chris Rea classic. Another wonderful song of his is called 'Stainsby Girl'. Hope you can check that one out too some day, and share it with all of us! 🙋♂
the story is this song was writen by Chris Rea while stuck om the M25 the London Orbtal road in one of it epic traffic jams.
Me encantó tu reacción, este es un clásico, pero espero que oigas, on the Beach , blue café ,thinking of you, lejos dance, mightnight Blue, Heaven, Auberge, you can go own way, if you were me, esta última con Elthon Jhon, Julia , Josephine,, I can hear your hearbeat, loving you again, Que será, Windy town ,Curse of the traveller,Ace of heart, Working on it, Driving home Chistmas, Steel River, Se sequi, And you my love❤, set me free, y muchísimas más, lo amo, gracias amigo🧡💛❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Guitar reminds me of Ry Cooder
The album is awesome mate well worth a listen
Chris said he wrote this song as a warning about what we’re doing to our planet, society, and the hell that technology is reaping upon our society.
I think that was “You must be evil”, this one was about being stuck in traffic near London on a very rainy day.
@@diana-cy4kj being stuck on the m25 for 4 hours.
@@happyapple4269 Yeah
I remember the song, but I think I've never heard the intro.
Pretty sure that the intro is Part One, the song Part two
From my own town of Middlesbrough. Top guy ,a true Middlesbrough FC football fan
For you soccer 😎
"Mama I've come to the valley of the rich, my self to sell" She said: "Son this is the road to hell" Can you say Illuminati?? Once you're in..there's no getting out.
Fantastico !
This guy should be better known
The bass tone, OMG the bass tone 😍
Did Mark Knofler have a contribution in some way, because there are certain licks in this arrangement that sound so familiar. No disrespect intended for either musician. Is it maybe the same producer??
written by chris rea, arranged by chris rea, played by chris rea both put and slide mark has nothing to do with this
Watching from Texas. Looks like it is filmed in England and American soldiers came by. They are headed for free Texas. There is plenty of room for Constitionalists.
its a song about the m 25
Awesome 👍nice reaction mate👍try to check out Frank Marino , agora theatre . Something’s comin our way . Will blow you away🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Please react to Rebelion Overdose at Supremcy 2019! I cant imagine ur reaction to this kind of HARDstyle!
Appreciating your response it’s no new song for me though it feels like it every time. That change up like life makes it a love story that just isn’t never is tangible yet we keep at it. Love myself first and not to sell out my love I’d rather die than give it to someone for food for them to devour me when I exit that effer.
Would you please play some Chris Rea. Texas, Daytona, Let's dance.
Please please please. Thank you
This song is about the motorway m4 in uk, its the longest motorway in uk.
Los Angeles valley
Yep hell on earth

Mississippi -2 by Chris Rea if you like bluesy.

If I read another dumb "underrated" comment I think I'll through up.

Bloody Hell! The video is available for free on CZcams! Welcome to my REACTION channel. If you were trying to find one of those "reactors" that just sit there and bob their head, you are in the wrong place bubba. Here I pause when I want and as much as I want... I'll throw a couple extra pauses into my next reaction for you though since you were kind enough to participate in the comments section. Congratulations!
I bought the road to hell album the day it was released, I consider it 1 of the best albums of the decade
