  • Here is a quick lesson on the main riff to the song "Snow (Hey Oh) by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I break down the chords used, picking technique, and how to play along with a metronome. Enjoy!

Nice vid man! The right rhythm really play s a big role in achieving that spicy fell.i can switch , alter pick those chord kinda "effortlessish"now 😅.but it just hard to get that wavy some sound,I just sound robotic .And BTW,I use jag too! How you mod your jag switches like that.its really dope 👍👍

That second variation of the f sharp major where you have to barre and trill while barring is difficult. I have to rotate my barring finger a little to be able to play this and remember it always being muted when i first started playing this.

Thanks! Practice makes perfect! Keep at it and you’ll be playing it at full speed in no time!

Yes, a difficult guitar riff acknowledged by all. According to @Paul David’s the bpm is around 104 to 108, fast in 4/4 time with 2nd and 4th beats accented, triplet semiquavers followed by three semiquavers ! This gives the piece a nice percussive, syncopated backbeat 👍. That’s 5 notes in a single beat. STRICT ALTERNATE PICKING , D, U, D, U etc is the only way to pull it off with a very relaxed right hand wrist action. Otherwise it all goes out of time.
You play D, D, D and then Up which makes it more difficult 🤔😢Did you get up to speed with your picking?🤔

I still play it D,D,D up and after about a year of practice I can play it full speed. Definitely made it more difficult for myself but I got so used to playing it that way it became muscle memory.

@@mksguitars7617 Hmm.... If its ok with you I can try suggesting some for lessons (maybe 3). Touche from Godsmack (there are some YT attempts but not a satisfactory, truthful to the album covers), You did a real nice sounding Symphony of
Destruction from Megadeth (if you could do all parts better), and Get thru this from Art of Dying (if you could do Acoustic then Electric versions better); Drop B tuning. I know you can explain the elements of the song better than most...
