പണ്ട് പണ്ട് അവഗണിക്കപ്പെട്ടു പോയ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന് പാട്ട് പാടാൻ യോഗ്യതയോ , ശബ്ദമോ ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുക മാത്രമല്ല. ജാതി പറഞാക്ഷേപിക്കുക കൂടി ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
ആ വേദനക്കും പ്രാർത്ഥനക്കും മുമ്പിൽ ദൈവം നേരിട്ടിറങ്ങി വന്ന് തൊട്ടനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

his singing here has a lot of flaws , musically trained in opera we sing for 2 hrs in over 5 octave range , his range would be 3-4 octaves , needless to say he has a beautiful voice but that's no real talent it is just luck, god given luck !

Dear friends, I want to share this:
I'm blessed to hear him live from the seventies perhaps on more than 100 occasions. The last time I heard him live was in Chennai 11 months ago at YGP auditorium. Y.G. Mahendra's late mother who was perhaps in her 90s also was present. She took the mike during the interval to announce emotionally that she was hearing the best Carnatic performance that day in her many many decades of experience! That was when Dasettan was already nearing 79! Hope I can listen to him in this December season again. His voice & music continues to be magical in live settings, no matter his age! That is Malayalis' beloved Dasettan and all our Yesudasji!

Youths of 1960s & 1970s did not have interest in Classic/Carnatic music. But they and the Youths of 1980 onwards got interested in Carnatic music only because of Yesudas.
Very true we were carried away by western music even though our parents showed inclination towards the traditional classical music
i had a crush after reaching Dubai 1984 Voice of the divine could heal my loneliness, A solace before & after went to sleep.
My nerves started to condition to his voice God is full of mercy to create Jesudas for us.

Yesudas is a legend and we know it. But who are these magical musicians. The violinist, the mrudangam player, the Ghatam player they are all so awesome. The violinist especially is a superhuman who can accompany Yesudas.
Yesudas is sent to earth by God to sing his songs.Through out his career he has been associated with some great musicians also.To name few his guru Chembai Swamy in classical and in film music Devarajan master(Malayalam) Illayaraja (Tamil) Ravindra Jain (Hindi) Salilda (Bengali Hindi and Malayalam) and many others.I just only mentioned a few.Also these percussionists are associated with him from long time.
