BINARY Acoustics X GIZAUDIO Chopin - The Hybrid market just got Richer!

  • GizAudio has just released a new collaboration IEM called the Chopin.
The deal was done with Binary Acoustics, a brand that is better known in the Chinese market.
But let's talk about the Chopin, it's a 1+3 hybrid in a shell that astheticaly will generate divergent opinions, but in terms of fit, it's flawless, the long noozle length being probably the main reason for that.
The rest of the build is solid enough and where it not for the lackluster accessories, cable and carry case , the Chopin would get full marks .
As for sound I can only praise it, as the balance struck between the frequency spectrum balance, the technical capabilities and the musicality is exemplary and a testament to the hard work that was put into the Chopin.
It's got a tuck style bass , to emulate that subwoofer feel , although that does not mean the Midbass is sacrificed.
Mids, so vocals and instruments have almost perfect , timbre and tonality, resolution, clarity, and whatever minor flaws that can occasionally occur are easily mitigated by the lush musicality that is obtained from the Chopin.
The treble is sweet as honey and matches the rest of the performance easily.
Technically the Chopin is highly competent with the take away message being , that it does everything you expect for the price and more, going so far as surprising me when I compared it to way more expensive IEMs.
Overall the Chopin definitely becomes one of my recs if you are entering the Sub 200usd market for a hybrid, although having said that, if you own a Aful Performer 5, the Chopin is not an upgrade, but more of a slightly different flavour of excellent!

I've heard most of the IEMs in this roundup. The Phoenixcall was fun, thumpy bass, clear mids, treble was a bit splashy at times but not enough to bother me. Kara had good mids and highs, but the bass was a bit pillowy and was definitely the weak part of the IEM. They have interesting aesthetics though and I could see someone with not much experience with IEMs really liking them. I own and love the Yume 2. Yet to hear the Volume. The Hexa sounds like a entry level version of a Blessing 3. I prefer the Truthear Zero blue to the Red. I felt that the Red sounds too close to so many other IEMs without doing anything to really stand out, while the original blue version legitimately sounds different from other IEMs with that separated sub woofer effect. Chopin immediately grabbed my attention with it's bass. It reminded me a lot of the OH10S in that aspect. Unfortunately unlike the OH10S, the treble on the Chopin had a small peak somewhere that gave me that BA timbre effect so I am staying with my OH10S.

Would you consider phoenixcall to be macrodynamics and imaging monster or is it on the average side? Which other set(s) do you consider to be really good in that area plus fun sounding?

Totally, totally correct regarding depth of insertion, overall seal and the improvement in sound is truly enormous. That's why for less well designed shells and nozzle lengths, choice of tips can make or break sound performance. I may have to buy these purely on the strength of design and insertion.

You have to compare it with the upcoming Truthear Nova! They graph very similar and seems like the main competition in this new crop of iems. And seems like it will cost 50$ less... $200 for the Chopin seems too much... Against em6l and quintet how would you compare and rank it?

I found on ali a company that makes round sticker filters . But with a compressed wool like the sponge filters. But compressed for iem nozzles. They do the same as the sponge inside . And they small. And don't get wet like the filters from alina type.

Can you send me link please

    • @paulosilva8200

@akros9333 can't copy the link from the app. But I copy the text. Once you you type the name on ali the first on the left will be the one. .........type the name below.......
100pcs 3.7mm-5mm DIY Earphones Tuning Mesh Pads Dustproof Speaker unit Tuning Mesh Cover......
I notice that sponge filters are good for dd iems only because the ba in the nozzle prevents from that long sponge filters. Some of them they too small, and they fall inside . That's why I get sponge filters with 5mm by 6mm and I have the 4mm too. And for the filters in the nozzle I have all Mesh and y forms and I notice if I place 2 filters in the nozzle the sound gets muffled even if the tuning is correct. And for all my iems I place a filter like mele that is around 150 Mesh to 200 Mesh in the nozzle because of sweat. Now, what I notice is even if the iem has one dd driver. Some of the nozzle filter makes them sound bad. Like the sonus, or simgot 500. So sponge is better. But in the simgot 200 they sound better with filter in the nozzle. But then I have to place like a 500 Mesh that really sounds like a 300. So for this reason I try all filters because it's a lucky strike. Some sound better with sponge. Some with nozzle filter and now with this new filters that I spoke to you about. Bow I can have the same effect as sponge but on the filter . And they cool. Once you click them you can see sizes from 3.5 mm to 5mm and they have low,médium amd high density . Is like a compressed filters. Cheap as hellp. 100 filters for 5 dollars or less. You should try that. Keep my posted buddy
