    Corruptions main causes of poverty.

    • @AGfrom83
      @AGfrom83 Před 2 měsíci

      Not really.
      Poverty has many many causes. But the biggest by far is the brutal inequality of human creative ability.
      No matter which domain you look at. A tiny minority produces almost all of the output. A small amount produce a little. And like 90% produce zero.
      Music, art, writing, acting, anything. A tiny minority do almost all of it.
      But so many people stack up on zero. Which is why we do as a society need ways to funnel some of that wealth down to the people at the bottom. Otherwise when the inequality hits a certain level, people at the bottom. Usually the young men at least, say "fuck it" let's burn it all down and start again. Maybe then I will get to 1 or 2.
      The tricky part is how to do that. You start in capatilist society's by diversifying the domains of competition. You can't be mozart, but maybe you are a great driving instructor.
      The other thing that is important is that the rich don't fix the game! People can tolerate being at zero, if they can see the game isn't rigged and their kids can be a 3 or 4. That's been the American dream.
      The corruption you are thinking about is not so much a cause of poverty as it is a consequence of the unfairness of the system. It's very easy for the people at the top to influence the game. The stock market for example. If you own enough of an interest in a company, then you really can only lose if you sell it. If the price tanks and you can keep buying more then the price rises again.
      The people who have that power are playing a very delicate game. Because if 10 million people decide they want to cut your head off. All the billions in the world won't save you.
      So you have to keep them preoccupied enough with life's struggle and other bullshit that they can't get enough of them to agree on who's head they want to cut off. Let alone where this person is and when to do it.
      It's always been this way. Kings and Queens would look out of the castle walls and see the village folk fighting and hug each other. Because they know it's only when the town folk agree on something that they are at risk of them scaling the walls.

    I disagree with his comment about "affluenza." If this were true, how do you explain places like Singapore, Japan and Norway? Singapore, for example, has the highest concentration of average people with at least $1mil in assets. The mass population there has way more in the bank than your average American, but yet you go to Singapore and it's one of the safest and sanest cities in the world. Singaporeans are generally happy, healthy, and mentally stable. The real problem(s) the US suffers from is incivility, lack of common culture due to open borders, and now mental illness. Mass illegal migration has done more harm to our country than anyone can imagine and the worst is yet to come.

    • @hjc7429
      @hjc7429 Před 7 měsíci +3

      Singapore has 4 official national languages, has 3 major ethnicities, Chinese, Malaysian and Indian. Singapore is multicultural finance powered city state exactly like a NYC of SE Asia, not the cultural or ethnic homogeneity you envision. Japan's GDP hasn't grown in 30 years, the US has 2x GDP per capita compared to japan. Norway has a high GDP, but that's because of their oil which they've essentially nationalized, combined with socialist welfare policy, their GDP still hasn't recovered to the 2008 peak 15 years later.

    • @brianshowa45
      @brianshowa45 Před 7 měsíci

      @@hjc7429 I have no idea what your point is. Americans are POOR! They live off of credit and have under $1000 in the bank. All it takes is one health issue and they're bankrupt. Singapore is very multicultural (not just the main ethnicities you mention) and their bank statements would make most Americans feel very bad. To say Americans are "affluent" is laughable. A small percentage actually are, the rest are fake rich (living off credit). In addition, the American education system is HORRIBLE! You cannot call yourself "affluent" if you don't know basic math and can't read beyond the 5th grade like most Americans. America hasn't been affluent since the 1980s. Stop kidding yourself.

    • @p51mustang24
      @p51mustang24 Před 6 měsíci +2

      Singapore is prosperous, but only because it imports a constant stream of high intelligence immigrants, who then have few/no children. It's a human capital shredder.
      The US, on the other, is much less wealthy than it thinks itself to be. The majority of americans are less wealthy than their peers in other developed countries, but the american upper middle class, and especially upper class, are much *more* wealthy than their peers. This wealth gap largely rides on the fumes of empire and former industrial glory. It's ephemeral, only existing on spreadsheets. The real tangible capital has largely moved to china. There's no such thing as a post-industrial economy.

    • @p51mustang24
      @p51mustang24 Před 6 měsíci

      TL;dr on Singapore is that the IQ shredder economic model only works in a tiny micro-nation. You can't scale it up to a nation like USA, China, or Germany. You can borrow some obvious aspects like zero-tolerance for drugs and crime.

    Hang on, hang on!!! You get booms, manned by security companies, at entrances to neighbourhoods. There are no electric fences, and constitutionally you can not stop the movement of people into those areas if they are on public roads. Vehicles are stopped and asked to sign in, and pedestrian traffic is monitored. You also get neighbourhoods built on private land, called 'complexes'. Like the one the 'Blade Gunner' lived in when he shot his girlfriend through the bathroom door. These residential complexes have high walls to protect the affluent residents, and the rules of entry are different. Another thing to bear in mind is that the Police in South Africa are paid really badly, and have heavily, 'thank God', been muzzled compared to their fascist white counterparts during the dark days of apartheid. So please Mr Prince stop talking shite about my country!
