  • If you're looking to ride a ferry in Korea, you'll quickly realise it's not a popular option. From my own research, it appears the only ferry operating out of Busan by a company called MS Ferry has gone bankrupt.
    But there is an alternative near Busan! Enter "Ocean Vista Jeju"!
    If you're looking for a bit of adventure, and don't mind roughing it out a bit.. watch this video!
    00:00 You can't catch a ferry from Busan to Jeju anymore
    02:22 Why you probably should just avoid the ferry

      Lol.. for the record.. there wasn’t any mean/foul language involved.
      However, he did scold me for spending money on the full set of toiletries just to have a shower

    Nice video, thank you. Surprised that the "room" is an open compartment like that!

      Yeah, the open compartment wasn't as bad as we thought it would be as it wasn't packed/busy. Mind you, there's also another option where there's no compartments at all. Just open floor.. can't imagine being able to sleep at all :)

      He's good with it :) it was only a rather short overnight stay. Might have been a different story if it was over multiple days.

    Hello, can you share the link where we can book the ticket with Ocean Vista Ferry? we are very interested but I cannot find their website and cannot see their line being sold on 12go Asia. Thank you!

    • @whereisant
      @whereisant  Před 2 měsíci

      You can find their website here: www.oceanvista.co.kr
      But it's pretty much useless unless you understand Korean and you have a local credit card to pay with.
      Instead we booked it via online chat on their official Kakao account. Using a bit of Google Translate and a bit of patience.. you can reserve a room without upfront payment. Here's their Kakao chat channel:
      pf.kakao.com/_vxdxjTs
      You can pay them at the terminal when you arrive on the day. Hope that helps.

    Hello and thanks for your content. Could you share a website where you can buy a ferry ticket?

    • @whereisant
      @whereisant  Před 6 dny

      Their website is here -> www.oceanvista.co.kr/
      However, I notice it has been restricted for use in Korea only, and you need a Korean issued credit card in order to pay.
      I did not book from their website at all. Instead, I downloaded Kakao messaging app (on your mobile).. and you can reach them on their official channel by searching for:
      오션비스타제주
      With the help of Korean translation to English.. you can book a room without any upfront payment. We paid for the room when we went the to terminal on the day
      Alternatively.. you can try to reach them via email - psg@oceanvista.co.kr
