I love how the metal family keeps growing with the different countries and culture joining in.
And Maui culture is perfect for Metal.

Ohhh shht that comment made me lose it hahaha.. Nice

As someone of 100% Scandinavian descent, and being very in touch with Viking culture, I have a ton of respect for the Samoans. From one ocean sailing warrior culture to another.
Being 50% Samoan and 50% Norwegian, I love this comment
Awesome Respect! If everyone could take a moment and embrace another's culture without bias, so much accurate knowledge would be gained 🙏😁👍

Rammstein, Bloodywood and now Shepherds Reign! International metal is our language. You guys rock! Sekia!!!
Alien Weaponry !!!
i am part of the "i did not understand a word, but loved it anyway" club
Metal is a language we all understand.
I can relate
Lol bro. Me too. I was headbanging till it hurt.
It’s Samoan bro. They are singing a siva tau, or what most people would call a haka. For samoans we call it a siva tau, much like a war dance. If you look up manu Samoa rugby siva tau or haka, that is the song that’s being played now
@@localbrada2368 SAU IA!
First, The hu, then Alien weaponry, now this. CZcams algorithm is learning 👍
Hahaha that is only the beginning! It started 2 years ago with the Hu at my CZcams recommendations, since then CZcams gave me so much awesome bands! I don't know if you like Folk/Viking Metal, but Skäld and Heilüng are also very nice bands! :)
If you haven't checked them out already. Bloodywood is an excellent addition to the mix.
Ningen isu
try them for next..

This song slaps hard!!
Proud to be an Islander!!

Bruh... I never thought Polynesian metal would ever become a thing... It's fucking awesome!
As a Hawaiian musician and a metalhead, I've always felt like I didn't fit the genre because of my looks...I think you guys just opened the doors to us Polynesians who love metal.
Love your song! Love your sound! Love your look!
okolekahuna we need diversity in our music in Hawaii. Hopefully this will inspire more musicians to come up with their own sound/creativity like these guys 🤙🏽
@@braddahjerry, so true.
Metal has no color or look... metal is in your heart brother!
@Some Kind of Master, sorry I have never seen them before but I just went onto a few of their videos. Wow! Kick ass! But what I was trying to say, and please don't take it as "I'm a racist", I'm not, but the guys in Alien Weaponry don't look Polynesian but Shepherds Reign looks Polynesian.
Very true...
The beauty of music. You don’t have to understand the language to enjoy it
Everything the Polynesians do is brutal..this is no exception 🤘🤘 Aussie fan right here
From a fellow ANZAC to another, y'all over in Australia are no stranger to brutal music yourselves! Big fans of Parkway Drive and Thy Art Is Murder! 🤘
@@LukeyMia4 true that, but this just sounds so damn good sung in the native tongue, that it just makes it sound that much more brutal..matter o fact, this particular song is my "go to" song in the gym👊
I am embarrassed. As a Samoan i should've been on this quick, but i'm just now hearing it for the first time.
Much love from the US. 🇺🇸

The Hu, Alien Weaponry n now Shepherds Reign. I don't understand any of the lyrics...but damn this goes extra hard!!! This is what music is all about. The soul of it s what speaks. And the soul of these guys is nothin but a proud warrior soul. All love to my Samoan brothers and sisters!! Served with many of y'all while enlisted in the USMC.
As a Samoan who completely loves heavy metal and rock- this is sooooo firrrreeeee 🔥🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
Shepherds Reign and Alien Weaponry will make something ruthless if they done a song together.
My 60yr old mother listened to this now she's The Rock..
Never knew how much I needed metal featuring Native languages until now
Band Called Alien Weaponry does Maori stuff, check them out if you haven't yet! :D
@@annah7573 Funny enough, I came here after hearing Kai Tangata for the first time!
I love it when different cultures adapt their style into metal. It's always amazing and badass.
There is more of them than ya think and they dont get the recognition in rafio due to stations playing the same pop music over and over for years
I imagine the pit at one of their shows being super brutal and super friendly at the same time
Samoans. YOU LITERALLY ROCK!!!!!!
Theses dudes need to perform for Roman Reins at Wrestlemania
Metal is an international language.
Cod3Thr33 definitely!
Amen, brotha!
Jared Dines shared this and here I am.... Totally worth it!!
Sounds great, the best way to end this year!!
Same!
These guys playing in the rainforest is like black metallers playing in frozen forests!
I see, great analogy
I did not understand all of the language, but the spirit understands the emotion. Brothers in metal, there is a sister on the other side of the world who hears you. \m/
I've seen many people from New Zealand giving love to Nordic/Slavic metal/chanting vids etc.. SO here's a lil Nordic/slavic woman giving some love back to you guys... This is freaking fantasic!!

Metal Samoano! Wonderful. The new sepultura.
The Hu, Heilung and now Shepherd’s Reign! I connect with indigenous music more than any other music! Can’t explain it! Keep doing what you’re doing! I think you are making your ancestors proud!
Bloodywood, amon amarth, alien weaponry
I’ve spent my entire 33 years on this earth thinking I was the world’s only Samoan Metalhead & I have never been happier to be so wrong. Wanted this my whole life

I never knew Samoan metal existed now I'm proud to be living in the pacific
Jared Dines brought me here. The epicness kept me here 🤘🤘🤘
You spell your name the same way I spell mine .
I love people that are proud of their own culture. It takes a lot of creativity to present it in such an epic way. People are just copying each other, not making anything new really. While as we can see here the solution is right in our roots. That's true authenticity.
And another country with insane music. Love it. Metal will unify us no matter we are. Thanks for this sound.

I was just thinking how this music "awakens" something within me and you perfectly put into words what it was. I'm glad to know others feel it too.

Dude, this shit is fucking fire. His vocals are aggresive and the language makes it sound even more ruthless. I love this!
I proclaim this as: Native Metal.
Because of the show Vikings the Norse spirit stirred. And then the Hu popped up and then Alien Weaponry now this band. The small nations spirit roared and now people have more respect to older and forgotten cultures and people's.

Check out The Hu, you'll love them.
Scarier!?

Agree to that
The Hu, Alien Weaponry, these guys. Metal is going into an awesome tribal route
Samoans always do kick ass things. Proud people with proud culture. Awesome!
There are a lot of similarities between seafaring cultures such as pirates, vikings, and Polynesians. It makes total sense that they would have their own genre of metal.
It's so awesome to see how worldwide METAL is. I honestly didn't know that Polynesians and island people were into hard music until I saw this. My girlfriend was born and raised in Hawaii and she hardly knew anything about metal until she met me, so I had the impression that they only listened to the usual rap/hip hop stuff down there. But this band proves me wrong and I'm glad!
@The Australian Rationalist awesome!
I'm Samoan, and I absolutely LOVE THIS! Usos are from South Auckland and this genre is not common in this region, usually Island, RnB, Reggae and Hip Hop but Heavy Metal? I love my metal, big ups to the usos for venturing into other genres that you would only find going Eastside, Central and probably West Auckland. Too much usos. Le Manu! Rock Hard!
Different in Welly. Caught this fulla listening to Disturbed one morning. Teens listening to some kinda heavy band and everyone joins in if its a classic!
Love from the UK to Samoa! Amazing culture!
