keep up the great work guys, looking forward to the drags at calder and Heathcote as well. :)👍👍🚗🚗😎😎✌✌✔✔
This is the kind of guy you want tuning your car. Not chasing the hero numbers and knows all the interrelationships and dependencies.
Anyone who knows anything about tuning cars for the street knows you chase power "under the curve", not "phone number" peaks - Martin Donnon was writing tech articles on this stuff in ZOOM magazine back in the late 90s. Only instagram cowboys hunt the biggest number they can get on anything other than a dyno competition car.
@@ChristopherHallett Your dead right, and how many times do people spend at those peak numbers driving around the street, barely anyone
my UGP tuned S3 drives very nicely
Definitely!
Was think the same brother 😂
As someone who is in the mechanical industry what I got out of this vid was your professionalism and attention to detail in a world of dyno cowboys I wouldn't hesitate handing one of my cars over to you guys well done again
I never thought I'd say this but the mk8 Golf R looks fantastic
With a dump pipe, intercooler and intake, these should make around 260kw at the wheels - in the right hands that's a mid 11sec 1/4 mile. Very impressive.
HELL YEAHHH!! UGP kicking arse once again! Great video guys!
Sweet video, UGP do awesome work! They tuned my 206tsi Passat a few years back, goes like a rocket.
Sweet! Can't help but wonder if we will see more MCM videos about this too, now its unlocked.
Great video!
As always nice work 🤌🔥
Give the man a job, his intro was much better 😂😂😂✌👍👊 top video as always fellas. Want to move to Oz coz love the car scene out the but the misses keeps muttering something about deadly insects or something, but I feel I've rightly pointed out that the UK food is just as deadly!
Nice numbers Alex 👍
Good to hear you can tune out the crackle
Makes me want to buy one. Very very tempting
I see VW now include a dyno mode on the dash rather than trying to hide it from the EPA.
That sure is tempting
Awesome video lads, I love my Audi, once you go German you can't go back!!!
The acceleration in the Draggy run is impressive, basically holding 1g for a sustained period when the stock tune doesn’t even touch it once.
Yes impressive! Is this the Tcu software that make it this quick. Agree that the stock Tcu software is pretty slow..🤪
Can you send me the link to that Dragy run? I just did my best of 12.55 at 109.18 mph on a drag strip and hit 0.92 G
@@mqbr22 There is a screenshot of it in this video.
@@fullboost Must have somehow skipped trough it. Thank you
Nearly 500 nm at the wheels!!!
Noice
Nice work UGP and Fullboost.
Look forward to seeing what you do with the new T-roc r
They are Fuckin quick enough as they are
Hey, just wondering if its easy to add overrun to a stock gti. I dont want to increase the power, just want to make it a little more fun in sport mode.
Thanks
They tuned my AW Polo GTI to stage 3, love it. Such a fun stupid FWD car
Maybe this new turbo of the Mk8 R will be the next IS38 drop in GTI turbo. 🤔 😮😊
I'm here!
0 to 100 in 3.67 seconds with tune only thats crazy, time to sell my Barra me thinks 🤔
The fact that all R line vehicles can now be tuned is impressive 👍
Well maybe not the Toureg 🤔
When is the next vidoe on mods for this i want to see more power and torque numbers with the intake, exhaust qnd intercooler
Underground Performance on Stalk book has the results ☺️👍
Bang
the most important thing is how it does the curves and how much improved it is compared to the mk7 anda compare civic , megane ecc ecc
0.5sec more or less on a straight road is not the end of the world
Just ran my best of 12.55 at 109.18 mph last night at a drag strip all stock. Would love to get your guys tune. I’m located in the USA. Is there anything that can be done for me about remote flashing at home maybe?
Integrated Engineering is where I would go. They know what they are doing, best DSG tune in the US, lots of record breaking cars use them.
@@dj4monie Have not see them post anything about releasing anything anytime soon. They are a good company for sure
like thevw as my brother in law had a tuned mk7 with APR stage 2 with 14inch brembo discs and callipers. He done 11.5 1/4 and 0-100 3.5 sec. But it has cost him over 25K in upgrades.
At the end it wasn't worth it - I just bought 2017 AUDI TT RS with all options for 100k and under 30,000km.
Night and day in terms of looks, quality and engine sound as audi is 2.5 ltr beauty!
If he did none of the upgrades himself he spent alot. You do have a European car modification tax you have to pay which keeps me away from VW's in general. But I can't any longer because of the Giant Killer status they have breathed on, let alone heavily modified which would scare Tesla Plaid owners.
Anyone know if you can permanently disable the start stop system in these and the new Octavia RS specifically? The 3 step process back to the Home Screen really sucks. Not to mention the cut off.
Amazing how they make the usability worse with more tech...
What rims are those need some not the stock ones the aftermarket ones
10:33
Thats at the wheels right? I have seen one do 428ps at the crank with RON100
We only.measure at the wheels here, it's far more accurate.
Nice video sir , thanks for the information here
Are the golf's in Australia detuned when new? In Europe they come as standard 320 bhp but when dynod they have been making 340bhp ( vw sandbagging) They have done a stage 1 on the mk 8 and they have managed 406 bhp
These power figures are measured at the wheels. The Aussie version doesn't have the particulate filter l believe.
0-100 in 3.7 after the tune, bloody impressive but will the DSG handle it for long?
People are putting 400wkW through the factory trans.
Yes
I heard with some tvs tuning bits and tcu tune, the 7spd can handle around 700nm
Easily, the dsg has been tested handling more than that. Dq381 is a stout transmission even with the stock clutches
@@kemalkeza6795 600 with just TVS software. With TVS clutch 700nm
What company unlocked
RIP my Evo 8
Hopefully you blokes can sort out a proper tune for M135X, at some point.
Nice numbers for the Golf, and not running a piggyback box, thank god.
Nothing wrong with a JB4 you twit I have one on my car...
Is this on a North American version Golf R? My real question is, will this tune be available in the US?
Yes, the car is the same.
Excellent video and tuning. One thing I don't understand is why your MK8 R is only showing 268 hp stock, and 325 hp tuned on the dragy shot. Stock MK8 Rs usually dyno 320+ bone stock. There are several reputable shops that have dyno videos showing this. Comments, Fullboost?
Because it's recording power at the wheels not guestimating engine power.
@@fullboost The other dynos are also reporting wheel hp.
@@shinymike4301 well it just shows why you cant compare different dynos... they are just a tuning tool. Amazing how other dynos are making the same whp as the engine hey...
@@fullboost Exactly take the thing to the track or use a Dragy, my goodness today's generation relies even more on bench racing numbers than Gen Y did.
Do a GTI, I can't afford an R haha
Very impressive! Shame they sound the way they do.
Terrible especially with the shit pop and bang noises
only 320hp? these make more stock in the UK? am i right in thinking its because the fuel quality in aus is awful?
re i just watched further and you said about the fuel? what is it over there? must be 91RON or something for that low power, stage 1 over here is looking like 410bhp/305KW
Our fuel is 98RON. Power is measured at the wheels, you should ask what they are making over there (atw) not estimated engine power as a comparison.
@@fullboost oh thanks for clarification i didnt realise that was WHP, ill ask my tuner but id assume it would be about 330 WHP which is close to what u guys are getting! makes alot more sense now
Estimate at crank? Quality dynos measure the drive train drag after the pull, and for most dynos they hit pretty much right compared to trap speeds when you know the exact car weight...
Where are the mk8 GTI figures? Want to know if the same DLBA engine can perform any better than the mk7.5 GTI performance
This video is about the R model not GTi.
Dragy timw says it all
So stage 1 on a new golf is basically the equivalent of a FBO Stage 2 Mk7/8V S3
Can someone explain all the stages to me please? I looked at a Volkswagen page on social media last week and there was stage 0.5, stage 1, stage 1.5, stage 1.75, stage 2, stage 2.5, stage 3...
Yeah it's for people who aren't mechanically minded I think. Stage 1 is basically an intake and tune.
It's for Euro owners who have more money than mechanical knowledge.
Stage 1 tune
Stage 2 tune + downpipe + intake
Stage 3 Bigger turbo + intercooler + other support mods
It's not just for people with no mech knowledge. It's simply easier to say "I'm Stage 2" and most people know where you're at power wise.
Easier than saying "I'm running a tune that makes x amount or power with an intake and downpipe"
stage talk is poitless talk. Just list your mods when someone asks what yo have. That's what I do. No need to prove to anyone what kind of "stage" I have. Pointless
@@8Bit5tyle only seems to be an issue with euro drivers 🤷♂️
is it possible to tune the Mk-8 GTi?
Yes
@@fullboost Is the tuner based in Sydney?
Melbourne
Yep, the 18 year old boys with snapbacks will enjoy the hatchback community.
In my time, you weren't cool if you had a volkswagen hatchback. I had a mark 2 golf turbodiesel. The mark 5 GTI was just out. All of a sudden, some rich parents kids i knew had one.
how much toque
It's in the video
Can you do remote overseas tuning?
OPF?
petrol particulate filter, they cop it in Europe... for emissions
Engine down size, OPF filter, CO2 emissions restrictions are in Europe. It is like the CO2 from USA and Australia will not be mixed in the air and finaly arrive in Europe.
I am European but all these restrictions should be arould all continents.
how much hp with tune??? 420?
329hp atw
@@fullboost i mean engine hp?
On a chassis dyno, we only measure at the wheels here, it's not accurate to estimate engine hp.
@@fullboost nobody is interested in WHP in europe.😅 but ok..europe there was measured 420-430hp with stage 1
@@michael3026 Yeah but they are just guestimates and overinflated.
If I had that car I would honestly just keep it stock. It's got all the good bits from the factory already and it's plenty fast. But that's just me.
It doesn't matter what you drive it will feel 'slow' in time. Most cars will take a 20% increase just fine. 👍
Emphasis on 'IF'. If you had one you'd definitely go at least stage 1. The fun of a stock car won't stay there for long. Going stage 1 will unleash the real car.
@@Mo-ug2vf nah, I’ve owned enough cars in my life to know not to mess with turbo engines and keep them stock. Tuning them gives you more torque and power but you ruin the powerband.
@@mrnicktoyou lol the powerband becomes better with tuning. Stop being weird
@@mrnicktoyou That will only change if you change hardware like the turbo, a tune on a factory turbo car can do wonders.
If you want no customer service I suggest not going with UGP as from personal experience once they have your money they will not help with any tuning issues after.
Dont get me wrong, now u have the stock hp for europe...
It's measured at the WHEELS
Not a good idea. It is best to have substantial km on the clock before even tuning it. No brainer.
That's complete rubbish. Modern engines are run-in in 30 minutes.
Technically impressive……. But it’s still a pos with a fart exhaust and no one cares
Hey your hurting a lot of Golf Fanboys 😂😂
We should put that slogan on a T-shirt :P
🤣🤣🤣
When I see a golf, I automatically blink to overtake him. Those cars remind me of disgusting gases and bad taste. New models fart. It's all quite disgusting to me. It's time for them to disappear. I think they spent all id how to hypnotize clients. Last is the fart and those awful screens in the cabin.
What do you drive, if you even have your license? Proof also required
Plastic soooo much plastic a few hot perth summers and that's them done
@@nate-tz8sx Why you parking outside? That said these cars survive typical Southern California summers just fine.
