I was walking through the office in my new On running shoes and the squeak was so bad it sounded like I was walking on Styrofoam. Got back to my desk, found this video, tried it out, and squeak is gone. Well, not completely but highly diminished. Perhaps wrapping the edges better might get rid of what's left but at least I can walk without it annoying me or anyone else. I suppose as it wears it might not be as loud either and I can see maybe pieces of felt working well too.
Use Dryer Sheets! Take out the sole. Use the sole as a pattern on the dyer sheet…cut out the pattern. Place your dryer sheet pattern into the shoe and place sole back into the shoe. Automatic Squeak Less Shoes
Should not have to put paper towels in the bottom of $175 shoes!

The paper towel trick actually works I just tried it and no more squeak thank u so much dude!!

Didn't work. Take out the insole and it still makes the sound.
