Great.lesson! I have a doubt... working with 5 colors I feel that the mochila will come out too heavy and too thick, I mean, not flexible enough to be used like a hand bag to put some staff inside. Of course that Im supposing that for what I see at the screen and probably the thread is not as heavy as it looks. Could you tell me the closest ref number or the ply used?
Fanny Moreno A Mochila needs to be firm, otherwise it won’t hold its shape when you put your stuff in it. A normal size Mochila will way about 500 gram. Bonnie Zamora I am glad my videos are helping you. I always use mercerized cotton yarn, 125 meter per 50 gram with a 2 mm hook. I am not sure if you hook size is in mm. For the bottom most people need 10 or 12 increases. How many times did you increase? Do you have Facebook? I have a group about Mochila, it is called Mochila bags, crochet. In this group we have a beginner bag and many other patterns. I also have a few patterns for sale on Ravelry. Maybe my coaster pattern is a nice place to start.
Thank you for your vidéos , i have a question ? , how do you make your Botton of mochilas so rigid, I tried everything cotton, acrylic ... and I hook with 2.5mm.. thank's for your answer .. from belgium 😊
Betty Boop I use 100% mercerized cotton. Schachenmayr Catania is my favorite. I crochet with a 2 mm hook. I crochet tight. I increase 12 times each rounds. This makes the stitches come close together. Most people get the best result with 10 increases. Some with 8 or 12.
Anupa Nayak, an increase is when you crochet more than one stitch into the loop, *increasing* the number of stitches in the project overall. It's often used when making circular projects because if you don't increase, the project will fold up like a bowl instead of staying flat like a plate. Definitely look it up and learn how to do it. Increasing is a big part of crocheting, as is decreasing (which is when you *decrease* the number of stitches in the project).
I tried to make a bottom with 8 increases. I'm only 8 rounds in and it's already shaping up like a dome. Should I try 10 increases instead, or am I just pulling and modelling too tightly?
Rose-Marie de Koning There are not many people that can make a flat and firm bottom with only 8 increases. If it is cupping just a little, then try 10 increases. If it is cupping badly, then try 12 increases.
but the catania Garn is so expensive , how much would the hole basket cost ? I 'm working with Catania too, but i ' m making just mandalas. I want to learn zu mochila technique anyway !

Lorianne Palmer You have to look at the pattern and see where it is best to make the increases, so the pattern will look good. I explain where to place the increases in this video, czcams.com/video/7QsJqfme9ts/video.html. In my Facebook group, Mochila bags crochet, we have many bottom patterns where the increases are marked. In the group you can always ask me to mark increases for you.
Please help meeeee!
Nina Boss Mijn bodem blijft plat.

Marion Verloop I could not understand you ! How to make 12 increases if I have 8 SC in the magic ring ? It will be 8 increases that result to 16 sts . Can you explain the increases in written pattern. 💓

@@MarionVerloop dankjewel .
Ook erg bedankt voor de linkshandige tutorials 👍🏻

How do you do an increase for each row and keep the pattern?
Lorianne Palmer You have to look at the pattern and see where it is best to make the increases, so the pattern will look good. I explain where to place the increases in this video, czcams.com/video/7QsJqfme9ts/video.html.
In my Facebook group, Mochila bags crochet, we have many bottom patterns where the increases are marked. In the group you can always ask me to mark increases for you.
At 4:10 minutes you see the back side in this video.
Please help meeeee!
Nina Boss Mijn bodem blijft plat.
Marion Verloop hihihihi klopt! Bedankt 😉
I want to see it's 1st video.. i can't found.. please send me that's web.. i want to see, how it starts...
Ronika Dean In this video you can see how to start making a Mochila, czcams.com/video/JKOUq5OVihU/video.html.

I want to ask u how you did the base of the bag “circle shape” without is turning inside I mean I could not make it flat 💔so sad I repeat my work more than once .. the same result .. please advice me
b azan I always increase 12 times each round, then my work is flat.
With 8 or 10 increases my work is not flat.
Have you tried to do more increases?
Marion Verloop I could not understand you ! How to make 12 increases if I have 8 SC in the magic ring ? It will be 8 increases that result to 16 sts . Can you explain the increases in written pattern. 💓
b azan Most patterns can be divided in 8 equal parts. Take 1/8th of the pattern and repeat that part 10 or 12 times.
If you have a Facebook account, you can join the group Mochila bags, crochet. In this group we have a beginner bag with written instructions for 8, 10 and 12 increases.
Marion Verloop ok, I send a request
Olga Idarraga I start with 6 stitches in the magic circle. Then I increase to 12, 24, 36, 48 etc. That works best for me.
gracias

I love your thumb ring. Where did you get it?
Sam Renee The ring is actually a brace. Without the ring my thumb bents 90 degrees the wrong way. The ring is called a silver splint, it is custom made.
Well thanks for sharing that with me. I would never known, I just saw it as a beautiful ring. :)
@@MarionVerloop does it help with the pain that comes with crochet?
@@zamyndcrochet Yes it helps, but I still can't crochet for too long
@@MarionVerloop That has been my problem, I refuse to take breaks. I found this device online I hope it helps. Thank you so much.
Where do you get graphs for patterns, please?
Jammin Jammies I design my own patterns. I have some for sale on Ravelry.
You can find many patterns on Pinterest and in the Facebook group, Mochila bags crochet.
I'm on making the strap for this bag but am confused about how many chains to make. I have 23 stitches in the 4 in swatch and want the strap to be about 2 ft long. Can anyone tell me how many chains to start with?
Nancy Cason 2 feet is 24 inch.
24/4=6
6x23=138
You chain 138 stitches.
Beatuful
Thank you
