my favorite part of the episode is connor saying "one touch is all it takes" about 50 times when the lyrics are "one kiss is all it takes" he is really a trailblazer in that sort of aspect.

my favorite part of every podcast is there being at least one segment of connor asking a question he's about to google but not specifying whether the crew should be googling it or not resulting in them moments later cutting him off mid typing it out on his phone to show it being pulled up lmao. idk why it cracks me up i'm not sure that he's ever looked something up uninterrupted

Boy do I love Thursdays. Nothing like getting home from work as a grown adult to smoke weed, eat frozen pizza, bagged salad, and watch B and C make a P while I’m laying in bed for two hours straight. Thank god for bonus or I think I just might perish

I worked at Starbucks for 5 years and they do usually have tips but it changes with different POS systems. All the tips are split amongst the store for the week based on hours worked. The only exception is holidays where people tip big (aka Christmas). Then the tips from that day are shared with everyone working that day.
Also the sizing thing is confusing because there were only 2 sizes when Starbucks started. Short (8oz) and Tall (12 oz). Then they added the Grande (16oz), then the Venti (20oz), and finally the abomination that is the 30oz Trenta. The Tall used to be the largest but over time they added bigger and bigger sizes. Each one (except for the short) was the biggest size at one point in time so they all sound "big"

As a delivery driver I kind of understand tipping about driving distance but at the same time if I get tipped $5 when I'm delivery $150 catering order it feels weird. People tip waiters/wairesess around 20% and I would say a delivery driver is very similar to a waiter and should be tipped around the same as one. Especially since we are using up gas and not all companies compensate for that.

starbucks family member here :) we do split any tips we make every week. the new card tipping thing is very new and awkward for everyone
When you tip at Starbucks all the tips get pooled together and then distributed to the staff by percentages of how much time they worked in the week

Tips have been a thing at Starbucks in Chicago for at least 15 years now, unless they're working for one within a grocery store that's unionized under that particular grocery store's union - in which case they cannot accept tips.

so with the sizes and their confusing names, Starbucks started out only having short size in their history. At some point they added tall as a larger and at the time largest size. Eventually as the demand for larger sizes grew they had to add new size names. So technically the names were all the biggest size at some point lol

Starbucks tips are split evenly among all workers as an hourly rate for how much you worked at the end of the week, including credit card tips! It all goes to the baristas :)

A cortado is not just a very small coffee lol. It’s a double shot of espresso with ~2oz of steamed milk, but the milk has to be a little cooler and less aerated (not as foamy as a cappuccino). 😊
