- Behind Bars Season 2 Episode 1: Colony 100 - Ukraine’s prison for hardened criminals | Prison Documentary
Serial killers, child abusers, repeat offenders. All those behind the walls of this Soviet-built prison have already done time in at least three other Ukrainian jails - and learned nothing from that experience. Or they have committed crimes so heinous that they will never again leave their 100-square-foot-cell in the maximum security wing. The prison is marked by an omnipresent hopelessness that seems to go hand in hand with its architectural dreariness.
Alexander knows the procedure by heart. Speak only when spoken to. Hands crossed behind your back. Stop at every white line. And for God’s sake, always look down.
Today he’s getting locked up for the fourth time. This time he committed armed assault. He’s been to jail before for drugs, theft, and stabbing. But this time he hasn’t been sent to some town jail. No, he’s in Colony 100. THE prison for repeat offenders. And Alexander knows that if he hopes to be released again, he must adapt from day one. And not call attention to himself. Either from the guards, or from the other 300 inmates...
Rusha doesn’t ponder such things. He murdered 29 people, and he’ll probably never see the world outside the maximum-security wing again. Instead, each day he tries to find something to occupy himself in his isolated and dismal world. Waiting for an upcoming meeting with a psychologist distract him from reality. Other than his cellmate and the guards, no one has spoken to him in years.

The guards are all thinking "Damn these cameras! No cracking heads today!"
Notice how only one of their rifles had the white mark on the barrel meaning blank firing. The rest are real and loaded.
😂😂😂
Andre Mcgoo it's a universal practice to have the muzzles of training rifles painted white. Also during the k9 excersize the soldier would never shoot live rounds in the direction of the dog or person
At least not whole cameras are rolling.
@@mikoyanig5512 I've never seen "the muzzles of training rifles painted white", it's definitely not a "universal practice". All the "training riffles", at least in the USSR and its successors have their chambers bored through and the firing pins broken. That's it, no markings. The practice to put white stripes is used (by the producer, on the plant) to mark "blank" cartridges, where that stripe is drawn on the "bullet" (which is made of plastic or something).

I dont know why I got 4yrs since last time I got a month
I am impressed at how civilised this is compared to US and some UK prisons, that punishment cells have a limit of 14 days but many US prisoners live in worse conditions for their entire sentence. The quarantine makes sense, the care that is taken with choosing where the prisoner works and lives and the psychological evaluation are years ahead of most prisons. The strict rules being enforced are good, the alternative is the chaos we see in many others. The prisoners can earn 50 euros a month, if you think that’s a poor wage then compare it to USA and bear In mind how low wages are in Ukraine. All in all I am very impressed.
Same here
Exactly. This seems to be a model prison.
No, the prison conditions in the U.S. are very good compared to other countries - too good in my opinion. For example, they have TVs in their cells, regularly interact with other inmates, have better food, and can get all kinds of food through commissaries. If you want to see truly hard prisons, look at those in Siberia, Russia.
The American system is a horrific joke with an even worse punchline.
@@amylee3531 Well, if people don't want to live like that then maybe they shouldn't break the law. Also, I know people don't like to talk about it but the more mixed the races are in a prison the more tension and violence inside. That's just a fact. It doesn't mean one race is any better than another. In American prisons, the first thing that happens is people divide each based on their race. The guards don't do that, the prisoners are the ones who want it that way.
"Everyone in the car was neutralised"
Yeah mate, first to go was your guard 🤣👏

This looks like the type of prison where guards leave the door open on purpose in hopes of getting a little headshot practice.

Prisoners - "Lets steal a van and escape"
Armed response - "Not so fast!" *Commando rolls out of a drain cover*

I don't really get that part. Is someone stationed in the sewer all the time to pop out if needed? Surely it would take more time to get into that position in a real crisis than to just rush the van or something.

@Gay Thağğ0t CockThrobber the whole point is punishment
Rather than preventing lifers from committing suicide, they should be given the option of taking their own lives. Yes, it's the easy way out, but from the standpoint of society, it is pointless wasting resources keeping them alive in a cell for the rest of their lives. And since execution may be objectionable, this would be the better & more humane option.
@Əbu Zörğhanürr At-Türkməni it would make sense for a country that has low resources. I'm from Norway so i have little clue on how the death penalty work but i don't think it's very nice to kill someone who has already killed someone. @thegrandfinale2 In some places is really is life though. Texas for example
@@Im__A__Fan Ironically in the Bible Belt South.. They think they can do the bidding of god and give "END OF LIFE" Sentences.. While putting them on suicide watch before their execution.. We are complete fools..

@thegrandfinale2 yes a double murder could get you less than 12 years on good behavior..
But if you compete with the CIA selling a half kilo of Coke or heroin or more
you can get a double life sentence...
RIP Michael Ruppert
The philipino is the hardest when it comes to sentencing and Madagascar is the hardest in terms of conditions and solitaries- and hey in terms of the rolling over when sleeping - imagine if some one has back problems and needs to roll over every 16 min
Anyone see the guard staring directly into the welding??? Lol 😎 good way to go blind 😂
Colony 100 is like 5 star hotel compare to Madagascar and Philippines
Haymi Green that lapaz Bolivian place is bad too but ur right this looks like a hotel.
Haymi Green Madagascar and the Philippines jail is 5 star hotel compared to any North Korean prison

lol..in philippines theres shabu lab, swimming pool, ktv rooms, mini grocery, barber shop, and inmates can also organize concerts inside with special guest celebrities and politicians..
That's what yo momma said
After watching phillipines prison, This prison seems like a heaven.
Because the people running it are way smarter. Wh1te Europeans who value structure, that's how you help people.
Man Indian one is even worst
Me too, but after watching the Madagascar episode, the one in Philippines is like a really cheap summer camp
Kalash Nikov is that so is that why so many Russians Ukrainians live in shit conditions?
Ukraine is much closer to a first world country than Madagascar, Phillipines and so on. Of course they can treat their prisoners better. In prisons all problems of a society inlcuding hunger, poverty and living space are more extreme. When people outside of the prison starve massively, how can it be better in prison?
This quite an entertaining. From Ukraine and I approve this message.
That's quarantine guy has some solid handwriting skills
Omg the dog who jumped through the car window 😳
Right?? That dog did NOT turn up to play!! 😱😯
They use Cane Corso dogs. Unfortunately, now some very irresponsible people are getting them and they have no clue how to train them. So the poor dogs pay with their lives.
Go watch dog dynasty to see better here on CZcams
My mother in law wants to rescue a dog.
I’ve already contacted them
Roubles no object 😉
USA needs to use this as a model to develop better prisons. This was the cleanest, best organized and respectful prison. They don't mess around.
Make prisons like hell.. only then you can think of not making A crime and going in..
