I just got back into BL2 about 2 months ago. Have been playing since games release. My very first objective. Get all 5 of the characters I play to first town. then get them all to sanctuary. Now I'm set to run and take any character into any direction I want. Guage being the fastest early game clear I took her right to doc mercy's lair. Which you can do early on in the game. Kill him, nothing. reload game go kill him again. DING! Lvl 9 infitity pistol. Now that all of my characters are in sactuary and able to use the stash. All 5 of my characters were able to use this 1 pistol to carry them to level 22 without needing any other weapon, grenades, shield, nothing. Didn't matter. Had the pistol. Know how to grind badass fast. My last character was able to still viably use this level 9 pistol while level 25. Speedrunners can get through first playthrough easily. I was able to have commando level 32 and into TVMH in 18 hours of play. It's just madness how fast I can speed run this game now. Once I have more badass I have a goal to play as assassin. And the only weapon he is allowed to use is grenade, and pistols. That will be a fun run.

And how the hell do you go around farming badasses with infinity gun? Wasn't the usual method using it on the target dummy A.K.A Shoplifter? Kinda remember being a dumbass on my first playthrough when I was younger and wasting anywhere between 30 minutes to two hours killing the Warrior with it. I find grabbing good shotguns and sniper rifles allow me to one shot for a less annoying experience than using that fucking peashooter for anything high level.
Do side missions as soon as they are available, If you keep doing them all you will increase your level naturally as you play along, as oppose to power leveling where you artificially halts the enjoyment of your playing experience. You'll hit max level naturally.
Tip 11) use the slots in sanctuary early on in the story. Eridium, weapons, and money, with the odd live grenade without a pin, can be obtained from these machines. just keep yourself on a budget, and kit yourself out with the best gear while selling off everything else. Note that story progress levels up the loot, but increases the cost of the one armed bandits.
It always surprises me that Axton isn’t the easy mode option. I have multiple play throughs, with many people. The sentry gun is great for players with bad aim, can’t find the enemy, are careless since it can you your second wind, and a generally great distraction to stronger enemies. New players can throw that thing down and run away if they want to.
That's kind of the problem with "beginner guides", they are made by veterans with very different mindsets. You'll notice everything in the video is basically about being optimal, instead of being a true intro about having fun and avoiding pitfalls. Pitfalls a veteran hasn't thought about in thousands of hours.
Maya is also a good starter class, phaselock trivializes a lot of early game nuisances like Badasses and she has a bunch of perks dedicated to survivability.

@@ataberkuzun9582 well if you don't understand basic stuff like weapon manufacturers and status effects, you should try to watch a more simple guide as this video is for people who have at least some familiarity with other borderlands games and expects you've at least made it to sanctuary in borderlands 2.
Last tip. Don't be too concerned about the level of your weapons, always use weapons you are comfortable with. If you find a gun slightly better than the one you are using, but it doesn't suits you, sell it. For experience, handling it will never get better with time, and you are wasting bullets and time.
Another tip would be to spend Eridium on SDUs that you need before SDUs that are cheap. While it may make sense to spend 8 and 12 of that sweet 'rid-rock on two SDUs instead of 20 on one SDU, consider if you're using that SDU first. You may spend 20 total either way, but if you are buying 2 Rocket SDUs and barely use Launchers while filling your backpack and often needing space, the 20 would be better spent on three more Backpack slots instead of six more Rocket capacity.

I remember my first run i had a salvador in the 4 member group and iofc didnt look up whats the proper build what about what weapons and such ended up with basically a goose Very fast very tanky always comes back for another fight but is utterly useless offensively which i of course didnt notice since playing with 4 player i just assumed we were all pumping 2 entire mags into a nomad to kill him... BUT EVEN THEN i had like 200 eridium Upgrade on my backpack before even the 20 or 50 erid ones on weapons especially since i used an ammo regen classmod for my team Still spec for the goosebuild tho on every new salvador, wont touch that moneyshot bs same as cloudkill Turns out when you combine the goose with enough fighting skills, especially the aim on gunzerking you actually get a good alternative on ignoring intended game mechanics by using the grog nozzle
Tip for Playthrough 1 is that enemies in The Dust scale with you, so farming the Lyuda, Veruc, and Nukem are viable especially since the Nukem is usually a 1 hit kill to most mobs
I actually think having an AR that shoots out slag is a good idea. It shouldn't be your main source of damage, but it is really good for quickly painting things with slag, before shooting them with the appropriate elemental weapon.

I do agree, but also MajorSlackVideos has some awesome real walkthroughs of this game. That being said, another real walkthrough from a different point of view would be great. This is just that great of a game.
Do the glitch to get infinite tokens and boost to over 100% in every stat, then make a salvador, get a grog nozzle and dpuh in op8 and raid bosses melt like butter, also get a low level legendary tortoise and a class mod to reduce your sheild, zoom around, fuck shit up and feel invincible XD

Bill Joe low key thinking about restarting Borderlands 2 cuz tbh, I don’t like playing as Zero. So far my experience with him hasn’t been the best but it may be because I’m new to FPS games, I’ve never played shooter games before and my aim is awful and I find it difficult to look for the enemies when there’s so much going on around me.
Another tip: Most of the cases worth sacrifice everything to get more points in one awesome skill... When I first started the game a lot of skills for me wasn't worth to have a blue class mod for them, because when you are giving +6 points on one skill you're losing all the bonus points in the others... but this is not how it works in a lot of the cases, so if you get a blue class mod that only boost that one skill that looks awesome... go for it!
If you want to play the long game, the psycho is the best class. If you are patient you can get a skill, that when your in low health you can activate it and, become nearly indestructible, because you one hit everything plus it resets you action skill so if played right can make you next to immortal.
For anyone who’s new and wondering slag elemental is a good option because once you hit an enemy with slag they become weak or weaker to every other element type including non elemental weaponry (slag only has a chance to apply slag it doesn’t deal damage per chance like other types) don’t use all slag guns carry mainly one slag weapon or modification also of note elemental weapons all have a color base to them shock will give blue highlights corrosive green, fire red, and slag purple I say this cause you may be able to tell a guns element just by looking at its highlights
I disagree with #9, as some legendaries/uniques are very quick to farm. They do get under leveled, however they are still very useful for the time taken to farm them. The bee, unkempt Harold, and fastball are very quick to farm, and very helpful. I do agree that you should not farm for specific parts, but these weapons are so helpful early game that they should be farmed. I would also say that you should try to get at least one of the top level grenades from tiny Tina’s dlc, as the regen is very helpful early on. Also some of the unique effects are very fun, and can’t be experimented with as much late game when you’re fighting for your life.
I definitely wouldn't farm in the early for any other reason than fun weapons/effects though. If you're doing (and hopefully enjoying) most of the side quests, you can fairly easily get to a point where all your quests are 3-5 levels beneath the players. Having legendary gear on top of that is overkill imo.
YES. I farmed fastball and let me tell you, I wrecked through EVERYTHING. I spent 3 min farming and gained HOURS of advantage. Bosses? Just 1 fastball and they’re dead. It’s crazy how much time it actually saves. This was my first play-through in which I farmed, I can’t believe it made such a huge difference. I learnt from joltzdude, that dude is a GOD in BL2 and he always farms stuff so I copied his strategy. Don’t listen to average players saying “farming is not worth it”, they’re average for a reason!
One of my favourite weapons was still a bandit smg. Mostly because it was the perfect alag machine. 120 round magazine, fired 3 bullets with each round and 28% chance of slag. The damage was abysmal, but I could slag all enemies in seconds, and then change weapons to finish them off. Especially amazing in co-op. And I played Axton, so it combined well with the turret.
I feel like the most important tip is to move on as quickly as possible to the next difficulty level. I have seen players so many times running around finishing side quests for xp that they could have gotten in a matter of a few kills on the next difficulty level. When a player is ready for the next playthrough it's not worth farming equipment that will be useless anyway - nor is killing enemies that give 1 xp when they could have gotten 500 or 1000 just by moving on.

At first I used the Bane for a while with the fabled tortoise shield, as kind of a joke. took forever to get anywhere, until I figured out jumping forward isn't really slowed down much. Even still it took a while, but it was so easy to kill things. plus you get a movement speed bonus when the shield depletes, so that's nice. would I subject myself to this exercise of masochism again? No, probably not. was it fun until the gear stopped effectively scaling? yes, yes it was.
hell since it was buffed to work better at endgame, it's just broken fucking good in normal and damn good in TVHM - you can beat normal with a level 1 pistol and cloud kill no problem
@@crozess7032 the hyperion robots that are sent after you - they were essentially just worker (hence why they're called loaders) that the bad guy programmed and equipped for offensive use
Puma you may be late in this but still always nice to have tutorials for old games. I still play this for awhile and I got my wife into playing this. She doesn't like first person shooters but when I got her started playing borderlands 2, she fell in love with this game. She wants to play borderlands 1 as soon as we can get a decent PlayStation 3 that works. So if you can make a beginner tips video for it. I would be thankful because I fell like I've forgotten how to run that game well.
Started my borderlands 2 journey this week with Maya in Solo. Level 15 now and having a great time. The game still looks really nice on highest settings on a pc :)
Massive thing to know is the ingame Health Gate. So long as you have 50% or more, you cannot be one shot. This is more of a playstyle tip as people may see turtle shields as crap or you may be scared of playing without a shield up but knowing this will allow you to gauge when you can dive in or back off. This info is helpful as you fight harder enemies in TVHM
I like BAR it makes acheesements actually somewhat worth doing. I also like how they share among toons as well as you get bonuses across characters. I wish more games did stuff like that.
CMDRFandragon uh, so basically when you start your second character and you are a bit experienced the difficulty is lower than your first time playing, and the difficulty gets easier and easier the more experienced you get, to me thats a terrible terrible design
@@sucettebleu346 Eh the bonuses arent that great. You get 3% here, 6% there. It doesnt let us focus our efforts to stack like 20% rof 20% dmg and 20% weapon accuracy. I barely notice my BAR buffs, but it did get me to do them, cuz more stats is always fun.
For a first normal playthrough it doesn't really matter, play with Bandits if you like them. I played with a full Shock elemental Zero through a big chunk of Normal and had a blast :) But from a pure stats perspective it's true that Bandits are generally worse than anything else, the bigger clip size is just not a good enough tradeoff.

@@mrtva_baklawa9633 NVHM = Normal mode (gear cap 30) TVHM = True Vault Hunter Mode (enemies have 2x HP, gear cap 50) UVHM = Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode (enemies have 4x HP, regen quickly, deal alot more dmg and Loot now scales with your lvl) If you overlevel between TVHM and UVHM your gear will be underleveled (ie. you're 56 with 50 gear) and thus make it harder for you fighting lvl 56-58 enemies :)
Makes me want to go back and play this game. Logged so many hours and played with tons of people online. May have to use the siren and start over. Only used the sentry and Salvatore. Love love loved my sentries.
You forgot to mention one of the most important tips in BL series: Financial handling, ( Money), : You could be saved by a weapon you found in a vending machine, because you had money to buy it, even you could find a legendary + You need ammo like 35-50% of your play through from those machines, depending on your looting and skills of not wasting too much ammo on a midget, LoL. I notice that a lot of people don't know how to do so, usually, so here are the tips : 1- Pick up loot, and sell it. If you can't pick it all up then pick up the most expensive ones first or, as I like to do, pick up white rarity loot and go sell it then green then blue and so on, ( Because, for some reason, the loot will disappear faster, depending on the loot color, from first to last >> white > green > Blue > purple > E-tech > orange > seraph > pearls . You only have to worry about the white, the green and the blue rarity loot, because they disappear really fast. 2- open everything you can open in the game, which will provide loot, money, ammo, and many others, saving your money and even getting more money. 3- go, constantly, for the vending machines, because loot is what you want to buy, so check them very often, because that's what the money was for, other than getting ammo. 4- When you die, you lose a fuc*ing BS amount of money, so don't be cheap on yourself and buy that good weapon you found in the vending machine......, I know, I know, but trust me, buy the things that you thing worth the money. This is, for me, one of the most survival things to do in BL series. Well, the save editor made everything easy for me :P , however, when I started every single BL game, I always made sure to follow these tips. >>> Trust me, money is really important in this game. You could buy a weapon that will save you for 5 levels ahead, so don't underestimate the power of the vending machines and money.

@@dollin971 Not having DLC doesn't make the main game bad at all when most of the dlc is for end game or third playtrough and stuff, not having co-op is hit or miss depending on the player so that's not good or bad while how can you say the gameplay is bad if the game isn't even out yet while gameplay is literally the same just with an option to use Move controllers.
@@V-Jes at level 50 the game is way to easy to be enjoyed (at least for me) so yeah the dlc's are needed at least the level increase ones, co-op depend of player obviously but lets admit that the game is still played today because it is a co-op-able game, whatch ign video to see gaplay it "looks" clunky and unprecise, rather than pre-ordering it, i'd wait for it to be out and see how it turn out, i'm just trying to save you some money out there
@@dollin971 At level 50 you have already beaten the game twice so that's not really something that happens very quickly while are you not familiar that the video showing vr gameplay doesn't even show how the game actually looks/feels when you wear the headset while the gemaplay was recorded using 2 Move controllers instead of the normal ps4 controller what even handsome collection uses to show how different it is with those in comparison so that doesn't really say much at all when VR version allows both options.

@@BalthazarB2 I always mix in some melee from the start, using the middle tree. It's got a nice mix of everything and keeps Zer0 interesting. Otherwise, if you're just standing back with a sniper rifle you could be playing any class
@@Temple00 I'm partial to the Stalker COM, which means Pistols. 10/5 Rising Shot does give +100% gun damage for any weapon though, so it isn't limited. But when you find a nice Vladof or Hyperion pistol... Counterhit from Deception can also go well above 1,000% melee damage, so that's fun, even before the 1.2x multiplier kicks in for followup attacks.
I think Axton is the best character to start with. Yes Maya can take out a single enemy and deal with it, but Axton's turrets can distract multiple enemies giving you time to back off and take your time when you're getting overwhelmed. Not as cool as Maya but I think he's easier to play.

Just purchased the Handsome collection on PS4. First time playing a Borderlands game. Me and the wife playing co-op split-screen having a blast. I get what all the fuss was about.
she is easy - her action skill works great ASAP whereas while sal can become OP as shit at the end of normal, that's still AFTER you've basically played the game for 10+ hours where maya can lock one foe out of combat and get hits easier pretty quick tier 1 skills include massive healing via sweet release gun damage and bullet speed shield recharge boost elemental proc rate up bigger mags and reload speed helping DPS some tier 2 is an elemental nova effect on phaselock LARGE fire rate and gun damage boost when a foe is locked (and it's a potentially long ish duration short cooldown skill compared to some others) phaselock duration (giving you more time to be able to kill shit) sal's powerful - but it's not like he's fuckawesome right out of the gate whereas to some degree maya IS very noob friendly fairly early - being able to get decent healing effects shield boosting and damage buffs fairly early in her trees
My starter tip, take advice from CZcams "experts" with a huge grain of salt. These videos are very useful but I find a lot of personal preference and opinions being presented as fact

OKAY, WHO SAID IGNORE ASSAULT RIFLES?? Nuh-uh man. Guys, watch DERCHLANDS instead. The 20% type c crit doesn't matter so much, even on op8. Trust me, I have tested them. In Normal Mode, ar's are still a VERY good option, and Maya, Zer0, and Axton still have enough damage to deal with the crit. Maya and Zer0 really love AR's, and Jakobs are OP on them. Aight, guys? Ar's are not bad later on, guys.
you've probably seen him showcasing them while using community patch, which boosts ARs damage and lets them have crit multipliers. Vanilla game, Puma is very much correct on his tip about the ARs.

my tip is spam doctors orders as soon as you get the quest great for getting legendries and xp you get it around the 17 to 19 mark and I just spam that until I hit 23 to 25 then I don't have to do any other side missions you can do the same in each difficulty
I bought BL2 in 2015 and am just about to start playing for the first time here in 2019 and this guide has already helped even before I've begun. I also just finished watching your video "What is the Most Fun and Favorite Class or Character for Solo Play in Borderlands 2?" and it helped me choose Zero the assassin, due to his versatility. These tips are really helpful, but I would have liked some demonstration of each clip, not just the same gameplay.

Only for normal mode, yes. Certain missions in TVHM and UVHM you want to save and not always do immediately

It always surprises me that Axton isn’t the easy mode option. I have multiple play throughs, with many people. The sentry gun is great for players with bad aim, can’t find the enemy, are careless since it can you your second wind, and a generally great distraction to stronger enemies. New players can throw that thing down and run away if they want to.
That's kind of the problem with "beginner guides", they are made by veterans with very different mindsets. You'll notice everything in the video is basically about being optimal, instead of being a true intro about having fun and avoiding pitfalls. Pitfalls a veteran hasn't thought about in thousands of hours.

Maya is also a good starter class, phaselock trivializes a lot of early game nuisances like Badasses and she has a bunch of perks dedicated to survivability.

Last tip. Don't be too concerned about the level of your weapons, always use weapons you are comfortable with. If you find a gun slightly better than the one you are using, but it doesn't suits you, sell it. For experience, handling it will never get better with time, and you are wasting bullets and time.

Another tip would be to spend Eridium on SDUs that you need before SDUs that are cheap. While it may make sense to spend 8 and 12 of that sweet 'rid-rock on two SDUs instead of 20 on one SDU, consider if you're using that SDU first. You may spend 20 total either way, but if you are buying 2 Rocket SDUs and barely use Launchers while filling your backpack and often needing space, the 20 would be better spent on three more Backpack slots instead of six more Rocket capacity.

Turns out when you combine the goose with enough fighting skills, especially the aim on gunzerking you actually get a good alternative on ignoring intended game mechanics by using the grog nozzle
Tip for Playthrough 1 is that enemies in The Dust scale with you, so farming the Lyuda, Veruc, and Nukem are viable especially since the Nukem is usually a 1 hit kill to most mobs
I actually think having an AR that shoots out slag is a good idea.
It shouldn't be your main source of damage, but it is really good for quickly painting things with slag, before shooting them with the appropriate elemental weapon.

I didn't know about B.A.R midway through my 2nd character and let me tell you spend 72 B.A.R tokens at once is about as fun as it sounds.
Do the glitch to get infinite tokens and boost to over 100% in every stat, then make a salvador, get a grog nozzle and dpuh in op8 and raid bosses melt like butter, also get a low level legendary tortoise and a class mod to reduce your sheild, zoom around, fuck shit up and feel invincible XD

Another tip: Most of the cases worth sacrifice everything to get more points in one awesome skill... When I first started the game a lot of skills for me wasn't worth to have a blue class mod for them, because when you are giving +6 points on one skill you're losing all the bonus points in the others... but this is not how it works in a lot of the cases, so if you get a blue class mod that only boost that one skill that looks awesome... go for it!
If you want to play the long game, the psycho is the best class. If you are patient you can get a skill, that when your in low health you can activate it and, become nearly indestructible, because you one hit everything plus it resets you action skill so if played right can make you next to immortal.
For anyone who’s new and wondering slag elemental is a good option because once you hit an enemy with slag they become weak or weaker to every other element type including non elemental weaponry (slag only has a chance to apply slag it doesn’t deal damage per chance like other types) don’t use all slag guns carry mainly one slag weapon or modification also of note elemental weapons all have a color base to them shock will give blue highlights corrosive green, fire red, and slag purple I say this cause you may be able to tell a guns element just by looking at its highlights

I disagree with #9, as some legendaries/uniques are very quick to farm. They do get under leveled, however they are still very useful for the time taken to farm them. The bee, unkempt Harold, and fastball are very quick to farm, and very helpful. I do agree that you should not farm for specific parts, but these weapons are so helpful early game that they should be farmed. I would also say that you should try to get at least one of the top level grenades from tiny Tina’s dlc, as the regen is very helpful early on.
Also some of the unique effects are very fun, and can’t be experimented with as much late game when you’re fighting for your life.
I definitely wouldn't farm in the early for any other reason than fun weapons/effects though. If you're doing (and hopefully enjoying) most of the side quests, you can fairly easily get to a point where all your quests are 3-5 levels beneath the players. Having legendary gear on top of that is overkill imo.
YES. I farmed fastball and let me tell you, I wrecked through EVERYTHING. I spent 3 min farming and gained HOURS of advantage.
Bosses? Just 1 fastball and they’re dead. It’s crazy how much time it actually saves.
This was my first play-through in which I farmed, I can’t believe it made such a huge difference.
I learnt from joltzdude, that dude is a GOD in BL2 and he always farms stuff so I copied his strategy.
Don’t listen to average players saying “farming is not worth it”, they’re average for a reason!
One of my favourite weapons was still a bandit smg. Mostly because it was the perfect alag machine. 120 round magazine, fired 3 bullets with each round and 28% chance of slag. The damage was abysmal, but I could slag all enemies in seconds, and then change weapons to finish them off. Especially amazing in co-op. And I played Axton, so it combined well with the turret.
LOL used a level 9 DP UH for the entire 1st play through and never had any trouble killing shit to death lol.
It is one of those items that you will wonder how you managed to live without after you one-shot badass mobs charging at you with one salvo.

I feel like the most important tip is to move on as quickly as possible to the next difficulty level. I have seen players so many times running around finishing side quests for xp that they could have gotten in a matter of a few kills on the next difficulty level. When a player is ready for the next playthrough it's not worth farming equipment that will be useless anyway - nor is killing enemies that give 1 xp when they could have gotten 500 or 1000 just by moving on.

At first I used the Bane for a while with the fabled tortoise shield, as kind of a joke. took forever to get anywhere, until I figured out jumping forward isn't really slowed down much. Even still it took a while, but it was so easy to kill things. plus you get a movement speed bonus when the shield depletes, so that's nice. would I subject myself to this exercise of masochism again? No, probably not. was it fun until the gear stopped effectively scaling? yes, yes it was.

Massive thing to know is the ingame Health Gate. So long as you have 50% or more, you cannot be one shot. This is more of a playstyle tip as people may see turtle shields as crap or you may be scared of playing without a shield up but knowing this will allow you to gauge when you can dive in or back off. This info is helpful as you fight harder enemies in TVHM
I like BAR it makes acheesements actually somewhat worth doing. I also like how they share among toons as well as you get bonuses across characters. I wish more games did stuff like that.
CMDRFandragon uh, so basically when you start your second character and you are a bit experienced the difficulty is lower than your first time playing, and the difficulty gets easier and easier the more experienced you get, to me thats a terrible terrible design
@@sucettebleu346 Eh the bonuses arent that great. You get 3% here, 6% there. It doesnt let us focus our efforts to stack like 20% rof 20% dmg and 20% weapon accuracy. I barely notice my BAR buffs, but it did get me to do them, cuz more stats is always fun.

Bandit is good from blue rarity or better.
For a first normal playthrough it doesn't really matter, play with Bandits if you like them. I played with a full Shock elemental Zero through a big chunk of Normal and had a blast :) But from a pure stats perspective it's true that Bandits are generally worse than anything else, the bigger clip size is just not a good enough tradeoff.

Don't over-level between TVHM and UVHM. Enemies will scale but you'll be stuck with lvl 50 weapons.

NVHM = Normal mode (gear cap 30)
TVHM = True Vault Hunter Mode (enemies have 2x HP, gear cap 50)
UVHM = Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode (enemies have 4x HP, regen quickly, deal alot more dmg and Loot now scales with your lvl)
If you overlevel between TVHM and UVHM your gear will be underleveled (ie. you're 56 with 50 gear) and thus make it harder for you fighting lvl 56-58 enemies :)

You forgot to mention one of the most important tips in BL series:
Financial handling, ( Money), : You could be saved by a weapon you found in a vending machine, because you had money to buy it, even you could find a legendary + You need ammo like 35-50% of your play through from those machines, depending on your looting and skills of not wasting too much ammo on a midget, LoL.
I notice that a lot of people don't know how to do so, usually, so here are the tips :
1- Pick up loot, and sell it. If you can't pick it all up then pick up the most expensive ones first or, as I like to do, pick up white rarity loot and go sell it then green then blue and so on, ( Because, for some reason, the loot will disappear faster, depending on the loot color, from first to last >> white > green > Blue > purple > E-tech > orange > seraph > pearls . You only have to worry about the white, the green and the blue rarity loot, because they disappear really fast.
2- open everything you can open in the game, which will provide loot, money, ammo, and many others, saving your money and even getting more money.
3- go, constantly, for the vending machines, because loot is what you want to buy, so check them very often, because that's what the money was for, other than getting ammo.
4- When you die, you lose a fuc*ing BS amount of money, so don't be cheap on yourself and buy that good weapon you found in the vending machine......, I know, I know, but trust me, buy the things that you thing worth the money.
This is, for me, one of the most survival things to do in BL series.
Well, the save editor made everything easy for me :P , however, when I started every single BL game, I always made sure to follow these tips. >>> Trust me, money is really important in this game. You could buy a weapon that will save you for 5 levels ahead, so don't underestimate the power of the vending machines and money.
Ori No Game No Sekai agreed when I start a new game I play through Marcus’ dlc as soon as I can man you can find some good weapons to use but good ones to sell to plus it’s a good area for eridium farming

@@dollin971 Not having DLC doesn't make the main game bad at all when most of the dlc is for end game or third playtrough and stuff, not having co-op is hit or miss depending on the player so that's not good or bad while how can you say the gameplay is bad if the game isn't even out yet while gameplay is literally the same just with an option to use Move controllers.

@@dollin971 At level 50 you have already beaten the game twice so that's not really something that happens very quickly while are you not familiar that the video showing vr gameplay doesn't even show how the game actually looks/feels when you wear the headset while the gemaplay was recorded using 2 Move controllers instead of the normal ps4 controller what even handsome collection uses to show how different it is with those in comparison so that doesn't really say much at all when VR version allows both options.

Zer0 Is a great starter because if you feel overwhelmed in a fight you can bail easy. Also one shot some bosses.
He is the most boring to play though.
@@BalthazarB2 I always mix in some melee from the start, using the middle tree. It's got a nice mix of everything and keeps Zer0 interesting. Otherwise, if you're just standing back with a sniper rifle you could be playing any class

@@Temple00 I'm partial to the Stalker COM, which means Pistols. 10/5 Rising Shot does give +100% gun damage for any weapon though, so it isn't limited. But when you find a nice Vladof or Hyperion pistol... Counterhit from Deception can also go well above 1,000% melee damage, so that's fun, even before the 1.2x multiplier kicks in for followup attacks.

I think Axton is the best character to start with. Yes Maya can take out a single enemy and deal with it, but Axton's turrets can distract multiple enemies giving you time to back off and take your time when you're getting overwhelmed. Not as cool as Maya but I think he's easier to play.
Maya sadly is broken with cloud kill. 1 bullet to activate and kill every enemy in sight.

Just purchased the Handsome collection on PS4. First time playing a Borderlands game. Me and the wife playing co-op split-screen having a blast. I get what all the fuss was about.
Side quests are some of the most fun areas in the games.

she is easy - her action skill works great ASAP whereas while sal can become OP as shit at the end of normal, that's still AFTER you've basically played the game for 10+ hours
where maya can lock one foe out of combat and get hits easier pretty quick
tier 1 skills include massive healing via sweet release
gun damage and bullet speed
shield recharge boost
elemental proc rate up
bigger mags and reload speed helping DPS some
tier 2 is an elemental nova effect on phaselock
LARGE fire rate and gun damage boost when a foe is locked (and it's a potentially long ish duration short cooldown skill compared to some others)
phaselock duration (giving you more time to be able to kill shit)
sal's powerful - but it's not like he's fuckawesome right out of the gate whereas to some degree maya IS very noob friendly fairly early - being able to get decent healing effects shield boosting and damage buffs fairly early in her trees

OKAY, WHO SAID IGNORE ASSAULT RIFLES?? Nuh-uh man. Guys, watch DERCHLANDS instead. The 20% type c crit doesn't matter so much, even on op8. Trust me, I have tested them. In Normal Mode, ar's are still a VERY good option, and Maya, Zer0, and Axton still have enough damage to deal with the crit. Maya and Zer0 really love AR's, and Jakobs are OP on them. Aight, guys? Ar's are not bad later on, guys.
you've probably seen him showcasing them while using community patch, which boosts ARs damage and lets them have crit multipliers. Vanilla game, Puma is very much correct on his tip about the ARs.

don't recommend derch to vpg community they dont want to be good at the game they just want excuses to keep being weak, this dude just recommend using maya's cloud kill on normal, and using salvador which is by far the worst choice for a new comer, vpg community doen't deserve derchland knowledge

Sure they may be GOOD but there are better things.ARs might deal enough damage to kill things at op8 but there are always going to be better things
my tip is spam doctors orders as soon as you get the quest great for getting legendries and xp you get it around the 17 to 19 mark and I just spam that until I hit 23 to 25 then I don't have to do any other side missions you can do the same in each difficulty
I bought BL2 in 2015 and am just about to start playing for the first time here in 2019 and this guide has already helped even before I've begun. I also just finished watching your video "What is the Most Fun and Favorite Class or Character for Solo Play in Borderlands 2?" and it helped me choose Zero the assassin, due to his versatility.
