The phase " leads us in Triumphal procession"from 2 Corinthians 2:14 middle of the verse) most interpreters see this as reference to the lavish victory parade celebrated in Rome after battles. God is dipicted( showed) as the sovereign victor😊❤, with Christ( Jesus😊1st❤) as the general😊❤ leading the victory procession, and Paul😊❤ as " Captured" by Christ( Jesus😊1st❤) but now fully following him( Jesus😊1st❤). Images of such parades are still visible in some ancient work of art, such as in the relief on the late- first century Arch of Titus in Rome commemorating the emperor's victory over Jerusalem. The picture here reflects a recurring theme throughout 2 Corinthians, namely, namely, the contrast between the believer's apparent( temporal)
defeat and the believers' actual ( spiritual) victory.... Another view is the " Triumphal procession" from 2 Corinthians 2:14 middle of the verse is an expression of Paul's praise😊❤ to God😊100%❤ for leading him (like a prisoner in a Roman Triumphal procession) into situation of suffering such as he experienced in Troas( 2 Corinthians 2:12-13). Why did Jeremiah refer to himself a lot in this message? It seemed like he was boasting quite a lot. It just wasn’t a good sermon.
Most likely any issue that you have is either with you, or merely because you don't like his style. He isn't boasting, and if he did, he boasts in God and in the wonderful, powerful impact that God has.
@@LionsOfHope-23 He spoke about himself. That he wrote his dissertation, and that he did a 600 plus word study over a long period of time. He didn’t get to the point until way late in the message. I go to Calvary Alb and I love the way Skip Heitzig preaches. This one message Jeremiah was boasting about himself. It has nothing to do with me, he was clearly more focused on what he has done and then the point of the message finally came through towards the end. Maybe he needs to hear this for future sermons.
