  • One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby says Labor has been “caught off guard” by the Coalition’s nuclear energy plans.
“They are so ill-prepared, Labor, for this announcement that they are being caught off guard,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“And Labor really don’t have an argument against Peter Dutton’s very sensible plan for stability.”

It would be very revealing to see Dutton and Albo debate face-to-face the costs of their respective plans. Of course, Albo would refuse because the cost of his plan is many times more than the cost of Dutton's nuclear plan to achieve the same net zero emissions target. Even the Greens in Finland now agree with a mixed renewables and nuclear path.

I would assume that any of those opposed to Nuclear Power Plants will not be going to France for the Olympic games, as there are 56 operable nuclear reactors in France. Athletes that are opposed to Nuclear Power Plants surely will be cancelling their trip to the Olympics. The anti-nuclear Teal, Z a l i S t e g g a l l, when she was skiing, she lived in France for a number of years, and not once back then complained about nuclear, and she probably still visits France nowadays; an absolute hypocrite. Also, I would assume that no Labour and Green members from here on will visit any countries that have a nuclear reactor.
PS A l b o and B o w e n are looking like the biggest idiots in the world with their anti-nuclear stance with 14 of the G20 countries already having nuclear power, and especially considering that we mine uranium for export.

When I was in Australia I always voted for the Coalition. However, on this Liberals appear to have lost the plot. Nuke plants are expensive and have long lead times which is a concern, and the fact that they are going to be state enterprises means the tax payer will be taking on the risk, whether they are financially viable or not. Further still, they face a lot of opposition. There are technologies available for keeping the lights on with variable wind and solar generation. These include pumped hydro and battery storage.
That being said, if a state premiere backs having one in their state and a private investor is prepared to have their own skin in the game, well okay... However, all indications are that all those planned Nuke plants by Dutton aren't going to happen.

In a land beneath the southern star,
A tale unfolds, both near and far.
Labor stood with plans in hand,
    Unaware of what was planned.
The winds of change began to blow,
With whispers of a future's glow.
    The Coalition, with vision grand,
Held a dream for this great land.
    Peter Dutton, bold and true,
Saw a future bright and new.
With nuclear power, safe and clear,
    He painted hope, dispelling fear.
    Labor faltered, caught off guard,
Their plans seemed now to be marred.
    Ill-prepared, they faced the storm,
While Dutton's vision took new form.
    Sky News, with voices strong,
Sang praises of the future's song.
    They heralded Dutton's daring scheme,
    A beacon bright, a nation's dream.
Heroes emerged in times of need,
With courage, vision, and noble creed.
Sky News and Dutton led the way,
    Guiding through the darkest day.
No longer did the shadows loom,
For nuclear power dispelled the gloom.
With steady hands and hearts so bright,
They brought the nation into light.
    Labor watched, unsure and stunned,
As the Coalition’s plan was spun.
A future clear, with power vast,
Secured by leaders built to last.
    Australia rose on newfound wings,
    Embracing what the future brings.
With nuclear light and guiding stars,
They healed their wounds and mended scars.
The heroes stood with vision clear,
Their voices strong for all to hear.

Negativity on nuclear energy runs through the veins of influential old labour, not accounting for any advancements made in the technology. Nuclear Reactors use Ionizing radiation which is not immediately detectable by human senses, so instruments such as Geiger counters are used to detect and measure it. However, very high energy particles can produce visible effects on both organic and inorganic matter (e.g. water lighting in Cherenkov radiation) or humans (e.g. acute radiation syndrome).
Exposure to ionizing radiation causes cell damage to living tissue and organ damage. In high acute doses, it will result in radiation burns and radiation sickness, and lower level doses over a protracted time can cause cancer.
