The 305mm Slide Compound Miter Saw.
In this video I receive a Makita LS1219L Miter saw for the workshop. I show the unbox and test.
Motor head slides on fixed pipes without extending to the rear of the machine, allowing the machine to be placed close to the wall.
Unique 2-Steel Rail Sliding System design offers single slide-glide operation; reduced saw footprint allows operation flush against a wall
Increased capacity for up to 8" crown molding (vertically nested), 6-3/4" baseboard (vertical), and 15" crosscuts at 90°
In-front bevel lock for convenient operation
Dual dust collection ports provide excellent dust extraction performance
Innovative direct drive motor and guard system is engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity (6-3/4")
Linear ball bearing system engineered to deliver "dead-on" accurate cuts
Less weight (65 lbs.) and the most compact design in its class for easy jobsite portability
Powerful 1800W direct drive motor requires less maintenance and delivers 3,200 RPM
Large-sized aluminum base improves stability of material for efficient cutting
Soft start suppresses start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life
Miters 0-60° left and right; bevels 0-48° left and right
    Positive miter stops at: 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45°, and 60° left or right
Electronic speed control maintains constant speed under load for smoother, higher quality cutting
Integrated upper and lower 5-1/2" tall fence system offers added rigidity for more precise miter and bevel cuts
Built-in laser clearly indicates line-of-cut whether blade is turning or not; on-off switch and micro-adjustments for precise "left-of-blade" or "right-of-blade" cutting
Ergonomic rubberized horizontal D-handle design for better fit and added comfort
Replaceable stainless steel miter scale features large and easy-to-read markings
Easy-to-read dual bevel scale for more precise adjustments
See-through blade guard system for greater visibility of blade and line of cut
Easy blade changes for increased efficiency
Oversized trigger switch for better fit, added comfort and easier operation
Easy one-touch slide lock for convenience
    Simple 90º turn-of-the-knob miter angle lock/unlock mechanism

This saw and the LS1216L are hands down the two best miter saws ever made by Makita so far. They are well-engineered, slide effortlessly and cut like butter.

I’ve gotta say you done a great job making this video. I bought the Bosch 12 in miter saw last year and have my regrets for not getting the Makita. All my power tools are makita and I love them. Definitely will own this in the future. I wish they made a shadow light version of the saw though!

You made 50 square cuts and even cut a log but didn't compound cut crown? Fantastic demonstration. The lumberjacks will love this saw.

*Powerful motor, cuts through aluminum stock easily with standard blade **MyBest.Tools** Cuts are straight and angles are accurate. Good overall saw. The only thing I would have changed is the blade cover. It is very thin and wobbly.*

Superb quality throughout, easy to assemble. I found the saw to be highly accurate and a delight to use (I am a homeowner using this saw for various projects). I attached the saw to a folding mobile stand to save space and that works great czcams.com/users/postUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe as well. However, you have to be sure the saw is securely locking in position before collapsing the stand. I've had many of the brands over the years and have come to point where I only buy Bosch, the extra money is a small price to pay for the quality and ease of use. Treat yourself to the best.

It’s not too bad, somewhere around 95 db. The motor is usually the loudest part.

Festool is one of the top brands in the world for precision! But it’s 6-800 usd more than the makita. I’d def say go with the Makita!

China. Where else. Makita used to be Japanese built, but now they're doing what all others- besides Festool- are doing: put their name on it, then have it built in China (PRC).

I bought the shitty Bosch and have had trouble with it from day one. It’s has a loud clicking sound when it winds down from a cut. It’s heavy and awkward as hell to carry! No one on our crew likes my miter saw, especially the older guys. They call it a transformer and just refuse to use it for anything other than a square cut.

  • @jed2055

LMAO. You had already unboxed it then videoed pretending to doing it again. Giveaway is that
you have to cut the lid end tape before the flaps open. Good video though and much appreciated.
I can't afford this saw in Australia as it's close to AU$1200, unfortunately.

  • @tomtillman
    @tomtillman Před 5 měsíci +1

$800 and it has BRUSHES??? I would expect brushless for that.
Also, it has the inferior laser cutting guide instead of a razor sharp shadow LED guide like some of the competitors.
C'mon Makita, deliver $800 worth of saw. I would buy it if you fixed these two major flaws.

    •  Před měsícem

How brushless makes wired tools better?

    • @trentramsey8599
      @trentramsey8599 Před 23 hodinami

No corded miter box that I know of is brushless! And the laser is a minuscule thing to worry about when you’re actually getting a saw that cuts true. We have about 6 dewalt 12” saws and I have a 12” Bosch and I’d trade all of those in for this makita!

So I hooked my dust collector up to my shop vac, it came out really nice but the problem is it seriously sounds like a humpback whale getting raped. Like, is a shop vac too much suction?

  • @raytroninstrumentservices1209

The machine is good. But pathetic service in India after sales. From day one, there was a manufacturing diffect. There is a 1 degree difference for the right angle. There, engineers are not able to resolve the problem on site. Now they have requested to send a machine from Mumbai to thereafter Bangalore service center. Hope they solve my problem.
