It occurred to me as a bit of complicated to get. So I’m not sure if my guess would be correct, but I’ll try. I think he oppose his theory to the idea that God is some man on the cloud. I guess his theory about God is that He exists everywhere: in stone, water, stars, galaxies- everywhere. That it’s the only reality we’re living in. To my understanding he means the nature itself as God.

As much as I like Templeton, I cannot as a Christian understand why he would equate false religions with God. This many ways to Heaven, are false teachings. Like the movie Highlander says "there can be only one".
