It takes a so long to realize and learn how to love yourself. Its a really long windy road but once you get to the place of loving yourself its peaceful and nothing can stop you! Proud of how far you've come in the journey of loving yourself

As a mom, hearing you hold space for your mom and her mistakes, is so endearing and makes me so hopeful that, yes, I'm not perfect and definitely flawed. But coming from a place of love is what matters at the end of the day, and we can always choose to do better than yesterday.

I don’t know why this made me so happy but I bake all the time, and I used to really love it, but recently it’s felt more like a chore. I think this is because I’m being pushed to turn it into something; to be “the best” at it, it’s taking the perfectionist in me and turning it up a notch. But seeing you make some cake pops, and just have fun. Not trying to make them perfect, and then just being proud of the result. That made me smile. They looked awesome :)
(PS: if you dip the tip of the sticks in candy melts before sticking them in the cake it will keep them from sliding )

I loved the mom rant, I used to have a really rocky relationship with my mom as well. Specifically during my early teens because my mom’s parents didn’t parent her very much since she was the youngest on top of her parents going through a divorce. So she thought I would make the same mistakes she did as a young teen. This was far from the truth because my mom grew up on a military base with minimal supervision, she had a lot of friends and an older sister who took her places. I on the other hand grew up in a ghetto suburb and moved 4 times with brothers who all hated me. So I never left my room but she thought I was constantly doing what she used to do, causing her to very much take control of my life and I hated her for it. Luckily she’s my best friend now and I tell her everything.
Moral of the story: Moms=Protective and smart. Don’t hate them. Unless they’re a bad mom.
