I love her genuine modesty "I'm not hugely famous myself" Coming from one of the most famous and respected female English Comediennes/writers/actresses of all time!
So humble and lovely. I guess it's true that the most talented and gifted people don't need to be over bearing, narcissistic and full of self importance!

Yes and no. She wasn't internationally famous at all (apart from being reasonably well known in Australia and New Zealand), and she's probably comparing herself to the big stars she mixed with that are. (even Julie)

Wood and Walters are the greatest female comedy double - act, as well as French and Saunders.

I just love Victoria I think I have seen everything she has ever done numerous times! I saw her at the Royal Albert Hall in 2001 she is just fabulous, so modest about her talent. There is a lot of Pat & Margaret in her Dinnerladies series with Bren being very much the same as Margaret, Jim and Stan's characters, Clare and the equally hapless Phillipa and even Pat and Petula with her tales of celebs maybe Petula is Pat after the money and fame lol. Victoria you are my comedy hero! x

"No,coz I can't be fagged to go out",hahaha. "Pat & Margaret" was quite simply one of her best works. She has that enviable ability to present REAL characters, even the grotesque kind, and we recognise them or elements of them from people we know in actual life.

you must be on a Vic Wood bender!! Agreed about Pat and Margaret - it was equally funny and tragic in parts. PS Don't drink the lager!!!
