  • 1.Aruvippuram is a village in the southern district of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. It is famous for the Siva temple established by Sri Narayana Guru. The Guru consecrated the Siva idol, the first non brahmin to do so in Kerala society, in the year 1888. Aruvippuram Sivarathri is a very popular event attended by a large numbers of devotees and followers of Guru. Sivarathri also marks the anniversary of the Aruvippuram Siva temple. Koduthooki Mala is a rocky hill nearby the Aruvippuram Siva temple. There is a cave on top of this hill, where Guru used to visit for rest, solitariness and meditation tapas.SNDP Yogam is formed at Aruvippuram, which was a historical event in Kerala history.
    2.Poothotta Sree Narayana Vallabha temple is located at Poothotta in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and Subramanya. The prathishta in the shrine was done by Sri Narayana Guru on February 20, 1893. The annual Prathishta dinam festival is held on February 20 annually. The annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam.As per history people of the region wanted to create two separate temples for Shiva and Subramanya. But Sri Narayana Guru objected to it and said to consecrate both the murtis in a single sreekovil.
    3.Mannanthala Anandavalleshwaram temple situated near Main road, one Bus stop ahead of Mannanthala junction while travelling from Trivandrum to Kottayam via MC road. This temple can easily identified by its North Indian
    style architecture and presence of a Banyan tree near the temple.
    4.Shree Jagannatha Temple is a major place of worship in Thalassery, Kannur District, Kerala province, India.The temple was erected by Shri Narayana Guru in 1908. A statue of the guru was included in the temple complex in 1927. The Guru had a glimpse of his own statue at Colombo where it arrived on the way from Italy to India.it is a famous Temple.
    5.Vakkom Puthiya Kavu Anandavalleswaram Subrahmanya Temple is located at Vakkom in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is the oldest temple at Vakkom consecrated by Sri Narayana Guru.As per local history, Sri Narayana Guru asked the people of the region what they wanted to worship, Goddess Bhadrakali or Annapurneshwari. The people told let they would like to see the murti that is to the liking of Sri Narayana Guru.
    6.Vakkom Puthen Nada temple, also known as Vakkom Deveswara temple, is located at Vakkom in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva and the pratishta in the temple was done by Sri Narayana Guru.
    The Aruvippuram Pratishta was done on the Shivratri day in Kollavarsham 1063. The pratishta at Vakkom was done on the Shivratri day in next year in Kollavarsham 1064.
    There is a huge statue of Shiva in front of the shrine.
    The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Subrahmanya and Goddess Parvati.Mahashivratri is an important.
