    looks like the stalled marine viaduct on the Malaysian side has been removed since March. the launching girder and segments were stalled for 5 months since its launch in November!

    • @SGYap
      @SGYap  Před 3 měsíci +3

      From what I see, the initially batch of marine viaduct segments at the JB side may have quality issues including cracks. It is good that these segments were replaced but this has caused almost 5 months of delay.

    TQ once again Yap, for the update. My side transport minister said very soon , Msian coming back from Spore on KTM will pay an equivalent of SGD to RM5 only. Heard anything of this for RTS?

    • @SGYap
      @SGYap  Před 3 měsíci +3

      It has already been implemented, KTM tickets from Woodlands Checkpoint to JB Sentral for Malaysian has been reduced from SGD$5 to RM5 for rides from August 2024 onwards.

  • @diseler1
    @diseler1 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Finally beginning to take shape 😀 time to consider moving to JB in 2027. Only thing now is how much are tickets going to cost. If it's $10 one way, many people will not take this RTS. So pricing of the tickets will be crucial to it's success.

    • @SGYap
      @SGYap  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I think the tickets cost will likely be higher than the current KTM tickets prices. I estimate it to be SGD$8 (SG to JB) and RM8 (JB to SG)

      @@SGYap Given that CW3 and KTM already cost S$5 per trip and the impending closure of KTM services to woodlands checkpoint after RTS is completed, It is always best to recoup the investment sum as soon as possible. given that the Malaysians travelling to singapore are able to afford, perhaps there will be a monthly concession card in the future.

    Getting the unpleasant feeling that construction (especially on the MY side) is behind schedule. Opening by the end of 2026 will become difficult.

    • @SGYap
      @SGYap  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Wadi Hana Depot should be on schedule and there isn't much construction activities at night. For the Bukit Chagar site, they are working day and night to ensure it is complete on schedule. From what I see, Bukit Chagar station and ICQ should be ready but Urban Oasis likely not ready by end 2026.

    JB must have an experienced team of planners near the Station area or else there will be congestion and other problems. Do they have some feedback from Singapore planners who are very sought after in China.

    • @SGYap
      @SGYap  Před 3 měsíci +3

      I believe the peak of the disruptions to traffic has passed as most of the piers for the land viaduct has already been constructed. I do agreed given the nature of a project of this scale, the disruptions to traffics will be very massive, but so far I am still able to get around JB town area without much difficulties, the planners has done a good job.
