    Zidane is a french Algerian player is considered by many, as Greatest player of all time the man had everything.. there is reasons why:
    1. He won World Cup in 1998
    2. Singlehandedly, dragged France to their second World Cup final in 2006
    3. Singlehandedly Won Euro in 2000
    4. Scored Greatest goal of all Time. (and where.. in 2002 CL final)
    5. He has own skill, named Zidane's Roullete (spin move)
    6. Was MVP in every his tournament and championship
    bonus:
    1. He scored 3 goals (!) in 2 WC finals (!).
    2. Zidane's transfer record stood for 8 (!) years. (2001-2009). in 2001 €75 million (!)
    3. In 2004 Zidane was named by UEFA as the best European footballer of all time and at this time, already was GOAT in football history. and this all before his last famous 2006 WC.
    For example: this all is for what overhyped by social media, marketing tools like Messi and Cristiano can only dream..
    He also won three consecutive champion league cups as Real Madrid coach. This has never been done by any coach before in history of football.

  • @Hi-fm1xg
    @Hi-fm1xg Před rokem +1

    The thing is, where you say he's fumbling is where he shows such great control. He lost his footing and hasn't got time to look for the ball. His foot looks for it, and as soon as his foot touches the ball he's got it and keeps it while he tries to keep his footing.
    How he can feel the ball is, and improvise with micro corrections is crazy

  • @TheGroucho66
    @TheGroucho66 Před 7 lety +3

    The tricky thing about doing a video about Zidane is that whilst he did have lots of tricks, and he scored plenty of amazing goals, the thing he was most famous for was being a playmaker (type of play that doesn't translate well to video). He was the anchor to the whole team. His role involved controlling the entire game by funnelling all attacks through him and his passes. The defence and midfielders would always pass it to Zidane for him to make the "killer pass" or to do a series of short passes, almost like moves in a chess game, to gradually encroach into the other half to set up for a push for goal. He also seemed to always be calm and graceful on the ball as well, and players would always comment on how Zidane always seemed to play as though he had "all the time in the world" (The irony of history is that, despite being famous in football for being a passing/control master and being calm and calculated, most non-football fans know about him for headbutting Materazzi in his last game during the World Cup 2006 final). There's a really good video of footballer Paul Scholes (considered one of the greatest Manchester United players of all time) and a compilation of his passing abilities that you guys should watch.

    It's difficult to explain what Zidane is. Why he is nicknamed "The Maestro". It's even more difficult to explain it to someone who doesn't know football. Let's say briefly that he almost never lost the ball, that he almost always made the right decision, and that he eliminated players with a single move (which is extremely difficult). And all this while exuding ease, natural class and a lot of elegance. It's a legend.

  • @rp7goku424

    the reason why zidane head butted they guy was cuz the guy told zidane something about his sister

    • @MrKLeBlanc
      @MrKLeBlanc Před 4 lety

      Actually it has more to do with frustration of losing the game than the insult (it's not the first time Zidane's relatives are insulted during a game and he doesn't just go fighting everyone who insult him on th epitch otherwise he would have probably fought in every game he played).
      It had more to do with the fact that at that moment of the game he probably understood the game was over and that he had lost his last world cup final.
      World cup he wasn't even supposed to play because he had retired from the french national team but was asked to come help and was so close to achieve ending his international carreer winning the most prestigious title a footballer can dream of.
      Zidane is known for losing his temper. All defenders knew it and italians more than anyone because he played for a long time in the calcio so they've tried to get in his head and they won.

      @rp7goku424 Před 4 lety

      K Le Blanc it was bc he insulted his mom and sister ect. Nd bc he kept pulling zidanes shirt Nd zidane told him stop and he told him tht “ if you the shirt I’ll give it to you after the game Nd he kept telling zidane strong words u can look it up zidane talks about it

    • @MrKLeBlanc
      @MrKLeBlanc Před 4 lety

      We have a saying in france: "c'est la goute qui fait déborder le vase"
      It translates :"It's the drop of water that makes the vase overflow" The insult was just the drop of water..
      I know what he said to the media but these kind of insults are really common on a football pitch and even in the stadiums in general. He probably heard them at EVERY game he has played in his career without thinking twice about it. That's a thing players do, they try to get in each others head. Players are usually angry and would take the risk
      facing the consequences of a fight only when there's an injustice or when a player try to hurt on purpose another player,etc. The insults are just an excuse he came up with to justify his actions but it goes way deeper than that.

    • @marvingeheim8513
      @marvingeheim8513 Před 4 lety

      @@MrKLeBlanc you really are french?
      Because how has this "more to do with the frustration of loaung the game" when the game was even 1-1 at that point?
      You should get your facts right before making smart guesses.
      The game was decided only by penalty shootout.

    • @MrKLeBlanc
      @MrKLeBlanc Před 4 lety

      Zidane had the chance to make his team win for sure with a header and it was so close just before the other "header" but he didn't score . You are right i didn't phrase it right when i said "losing the game". I should have said frustration when he felt the game was sliping out of his hands/control. I still stand by what i've written. The point is that his reaction has more to do with the game and the pressure for him around it than the insult itself.

    What he did was to use his body to send the keeper to the ground then chipped it over his head.
    It's similar to a cross over/fake in basketball where you send the opponent the wrong way.

    Great video :). Just a little thing that people who don't usually watch football doesn't appreciate (and probably one of Zidane's greatest vritues) is control, to better understand this you should just try to dribble with a ball in your feets, then do it running, then try to catch a ball in the air with your feets. The ability to do this smoothly, with precision and even embarassing some rivals while at it is a very complex and difficult to master skill, that's why Zidane is so appreciated, he does it like it's nothing, people who doesn't know how to watch football tends to see just a guy running with the ball or doing some goofy/sloppy movements, but there's a LOT behind it.
