      Does all of these controllers have auto aim, fire burst, "the ability to up and down movement when shooting"? Can you "program" all of them?..thats the info i wish you talked about... other than that, GREAT video 🙏

    I bought a SCUF Vantage for my PS4. The only issue I had to deal with was the analog stick recall. I was getting hella stick drift, and when I contacted them, their customer service was extremely nice and polite about resolving my issue. They also informed me about the recall and helped me with all the paperwork. Which was great since I have difficultly writing and filling out forms due to my Cerebral Palsy. Everything was repaired for free, including shipping since I was still within my warranty.
    The only complaints that I have about SCUF are that they discontinued the entire Vantage line without having a similar replacement available, nor did they have a similar design for PS5. They also discontinued all of the accessories. So, I can't get replacements for anything that breaks over time, like trigger covers. My trigger covers cracked, now those buttons constantly stick because the cover gets jammed. I asked for new ones from SCUF, only to find out that everything was discontinued, and VERY RECENTLY at the time. It was still listed on their website, along with some accessories, but not what I needed. That was the first controller I had that made gaming TRULY ACCESSIBLE FOR ME. Before the Vantage, I discovered that there were some games I just couldn't play. OR, I would have a good start then get stuck at some point because I physically couldn't do the controller movements necessary to continue on with the game.
    They could have at least kept certain accessories that were prone to damage, like trigger covers, available for replacement parts. Not even with all the colors, I'd be happy with black; I just want the controller that I paid so much damn money for TO WORK PROPERLY FFS! They don't even have to be on the storefront, just available through asking Customer Service/Support. Like what Bose does for the covers of their earbuds. If you lost the rubber covers, which are the parts going inside your ear; you can contact customer service and they would send you a replacement set. The replacements were free at first, last time I got a set, they charged me between $5-$10 which wasn't bad compared to the resellers on eBay.

    I couldn’t have found a better video for the information I was looking for. I’m so picky about my controllers and after switching from Xbox one X to PS5, I expected to love the PS5 controller because when I played PS4 on occasion, it was the perfect controller for me as far as size and feel. Didn’t think the next gen would be THAT different, but I really hate the stock PS5 controller. I love things about it but the size and slippery plastic is awful. It’s time to invest in a good custom paddle/back button controller for my PS5. Gave it a fair shot and played for a good while but I still just don’t feel right with it. I used several different controller types on Xbox and I’m really looking forward to getting a much better fitting PS5 controller for me. And this video was perfect for everything I was wondering about. Thanks man. You got a sub for sure.

    Short answer customize your controller yourself.Hex is owned by extremerate which provides parts for everyone but Scuf.The stick drift is a hardware defect in the launch models that can be fix with electronic cleaning spray or have it replace if stock by Sony.Shipping time is from waiting on parts is probably cause they all get parts from extremerate/hex which is a overseas company most likely.

    I'm considering the Reflex FPS. I've got a few SCUF controllers and honestly they are great. I had a button issue with my Impact Pro which SCUF did fix but because of lockdown it look a month but it's been solid ever since, over 2 years of COD and it's still as good as ever. Also got an Instinct Pro and that's amazing too. I will say their coatings do tend to peel easy and quick and their colors don't quite match the renders and I wish they did better there as these are expensive options sometimes. If you look after your controller it should last mechanically, even if you play a lot of FPS but cosmetic wear will occur. But it you rage quit and throw your controller like WingsOfRedemption, yeah that sucker ain't gonna last long!

    Thanks for the vid. I’ve been thinking about getting an aim for a while. Paddle placement is super important to me and based on other controllers I’ve used I know I’ll love aim’s. I just don’t wanna deal with waiting. I’d love to go with the 4 paddle/button hex but I don’t like how they’re next to each other instead of on top of each other. I’ll probably just end up waiting to decide which company to go with until my current controller becomes unusable

      I am glad you found some value in the video! Yea, i agree paddle placement is key to having a relaxed and comfortable grip. Unfortunately, the two best in terms of paddle placement are Aim and Battle Beaver. Both of which have extremely long lead times in terms of getting the controller to the consumers.

    There are tons of aim controllers on Amazon that’ll ship in 2-4 days. I did notice the ratings went down since I bought my aim controller. The ratings when I bought the controller went from 4.5/5 to 3.7/5, and I bought my controller in July 2021. Then I went back to buy an Aim controller for PS5 when I noticed the 3.7/5 rating. I never had a problem with the paddle system, if I remember correctly, but I also didn't do much customization to it because I bought it on Amazon, not their website. The only problem with it was my down d-pad button broke to where I couldn't use it in-game. I purchased a Scuf in 2018. My first issue was the wait time. I think I had to wait 2-3 months to receive it. Then when I finally got it, I had it for maybe a month, tops. It broke in the stupidest way possible. I took the paddles off by following the CZcams and paper directions. Then when I put them back on, they never responded the same. Then eventually didn't respond at all. I wasn't about to wait another three months for repairs. All in all, I liked the Aim controller better.

  • @cashreliadorgaragedoors1178

    As a note for further videos, you've made this so high scores mean a better controller for all other metrics but for some reason a high score on price indicates a worse controller. So the score at the end is muddied by that. The highest priced controllers score the best and will place higher than they should

  • @buddylee19082
    @buddylee19082 Před 2 lety +2

    Couldn't agree more in regards to BattleBeaver... I've dealt with them and their controllers on numerous occassions and when it comes to their ship times, they're ABSOLUTELY ABYSSMAL. And one thing you didn't mention but I personally found issue with was the "Beaver-Boost" LOTTERY!? I don't see how this is a sustainable business model nor do I think it's ethical, frankly. If you're going to offer a expedited service IT SHOULD be offered EXCLUSIVELY to those furthest back in your queue FIRST and/or returning customers. Not, "hey login at this time, on this day, and hopefully beat everyones else to checkout, and you can have your controller next week rather than 8mos from now, even though we've already had your money for 4-5mos now"..? imho. Also, Great video btw!

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh my gosh I felt the same exact way about Beaver Boost. It is such a flawed system. I agree with you 100%. The sad part is, this isn't exclusive to BB. Many companies are trying to create artificial scarcity and, "limited supply" to create hype and drive FOMO in consumers. The worst part is, it only hurts the gaming community because scalpers with bots are swiping up all the inventory and reselling. These lottery type systems suck, things have to change. Ok, rant over lol Thanks for watching!

      @@boxiii It looks like Hex is just using Extremerate parts (some of the images are even straight from Extremerate's website), so If you are DIY inclined, you can make the controller yourself for significantly cheaper. $75 gets you all the parts (plus tools and spare controller screws) you need to add the paddles, grips, interchangeable sticks, and clicky triggers to a stock controller (Removing the rumble is free, for obvious reasons). I did this last night and it took me about 45 minutes.

    I like the video, but I have to disagree about the hex ultimate. I absolutely love it, the k1/k2 is designed to bend, which i like cuz it's like springy.. and clicky.... but also, I like the pro grip feel as well, but that's all preference. I don't so much like luxury over performance, and the pro grip to me is like velcro to my hand. The scuf back to me has that licked though, it both has luxury and comfort BUT longevity on the Scuf is already breaking down. The rubber is losing the little nubs, like its becoming smooth rubber... 3 weeks of solid call of duty play and it's going bald (in performance tires terms) which I can say that the Hex (or extremrate) pro grip has been through many more hours and looks and feels just like it did back in October.. again, my personal preference. I have not got the AIM in yet... waiting..... and waiting.... um.. you get the point. Anyway, love the video, thanks man!

I know people say Scuf durability isn’t the greatest but 1. How do you treat your controller? 2. Corsair purchased Scuf so quality control is better and 3. It’s literally a PS5 stock controller modded by Scuf so the durability with just naturally be better. I gotta wait until May 12th to get my Reflex Pro but I’m excited to get it. Still rockin with it! The Hex Rival has been my go-to for FPS games since 6-7 months ago. I haven't had any real issues with the durability of it. I have noticed slight stick drift forming, however, that is bound to happen with any controller over long periods of heavy use. I also noticed the clicky buttons are not as snappy as they once felt. Again tho, we are talking 4-5 hours of use 5 days a week for half a year. I also tend to grip my controller tight and as a result mash my buttons harder than I probably should. Got myself a reflex FPS. Set me back quite a bit. Not even 4 months in, my L2 trigger stopped functioning. They offered to get it repaired, since it’s still in warranty. Be warned though, you only get 6 months warranty. Prolly because they are aware these triggers will break fast.
    I’d like to add that I take care of my controllers. Wash my hands before a session, clean it every week and generally clean my desk every day.
    For such a steep price, I’d expect more. This controller costs half of my console. To have a trigger break do fast, worries me.

    Great video! Like the ranking system you have going on. I do believe the warranty is a big issue. I’ve owned and scuf control for my PS3, battle beaver and Aim with PS4. One another one that I liked as well was Cinch Gaming controller for the PS4. Looking to get a modded controller for the PS5. This video was a big help, just wish you reviewed the Cinch controller as well. I know you were a big component for the rumbles to be removed, and the cinch PS5 only comes WITHOUT rumbles. Also they let you send in your own controller for a cheaper price. Let me know what you think or if you’ve looked into them and didn’t like there products. Even after just a week of use, I definitely like the reflex much better. The digital triggers feel better on the scuf and like you said, it feels damn good in the hands with the grip. One thing I did notice between the two was the ultimate seemed to have a slight input delay compared to the scuf. I’m on PC and prefer PlayStation configuration and the Thrustmaster lets you swap out the dpad and thumbsticks to be PlayStation or Xbox configuration. If I thumbstick gets bad just buy a new one and easily swap it out. The only issue I’ve had is the handles are a bit thin so the grip can be uncomfortable until your hands get used to it. I think I spent $150 and pretty good value

    The Hex Rival controller is just using Extremerate hardware. You'd might as well buy the parts from Extremerate and put it together yourself. Bare minimum you have more customization and, you get a little diy experience.

    • @Belacthemighty
      @Belacthemighty Před rokem

      So for $210 you can get a new base ps5 controller plus hair triggers, clicky face buttons, backlit face buttons, adjustable sticks and remappable k1-4 buttons. all it takes is a little diy work, and if you don't want some of those things the price goes down. you can always add a custom shell wich will raise it a bit. now I do have to say if you REALLY don't like learning new skills or just diy in general 100% not the way to go, but overall I think with the fairly low price, the knowledge you get from putting it together yourself, and he said in the video the controller that already uses the Extremerate parts was good quality. I'd say it's pretty worth it. literally the only downside is if you want a warranty for any of the parts you have to pay extra, and if they do accept a return you have to take the controller apart, but in my eyes that's just more experience. Plus if you get good at it and your friends want a similar controller you can put it together for them for a bit of money. so anyway just my 2 cents.
