Smart man! You didn't take no for an answer, did you? Excellent call on simply moving drawer to the bottom. I was anticipating having to install a rolling shelf to take full advantage of the cabinet space. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and saving me time and money! Looks to me like you're doing just fine with your old school tools and your top-of-the-line brain!!! It just makes me wonder, "Hey, why didn't I think of that?"

Thank you very much, but it was my wife's idea to move the drawer. Glad my video helped you out. Thanks for letting me know. It is still working fine, and my wife loves it!

This is genius! I had a contractor come to install mine but he couldn’t get it to work because it wouldn’t lock in place with the drawer there. Thank you so much.

One thing i noticed about the shelf when i installed mine was it leaned down in the front when the mixer was on it. I lowered the back of the bracket 3/8 of an inch to compensate for this. I also added a hand hole in the board to aid in lifting it.

Sounds like some good improvements, thanks!

3 years ago isn't too long ago is it? ;) When you say "lowered" did you pivot the bracket downward 3/8 " in the back to pivot the front upward to level or lowered the whole bracket? Thanks for any help.

@joemc6014 yes pivot the back. I just dropped the back of the bracket and rechecked it with the mixer on it. Also check the clearance between the board you have the mixer on and the counter top. Hope this helps

@@jcowboy123 One more question...many of the wood platforms look too big and bulky...too thick.
Any suggestions on where to find a more proportional platform? One that doesn't look like a huge block of wood. Modify a cutting board?? Thanks for your time.

@joemc6014 hi Joe , I made my own in a style of a cutting board. This gives you freedom to do what you like and match your kitchen. I gave a coat polyurethane after sanding.. I mentioned before about a hand hold , drill a couple of holes with a hole saw ,draw a couple of lines to connect them, then using a jig saw cut the lines . Trust me it makes lifting that turd easier lol

First video I've seen where the lift top matches the height of the counter top. Always wondered whey they were all set so low.
