Oh I absolutely love that they added all the unfinished things at the end of the book. It’s like a DVD extra but in book form. One book I remember them doing that was for Satoshi Kon’s Opus. I’d like it if more books in the future would add stuff like that.
Already ordered and can't wait for this to arrive! I've gone for the regular cover version which I think is better on this occasion. Love these previews, as they make me all the more excited for when the book arrives. Keep keeping us entertained!
Waiting for mine to arrive. I ended up getting the DM cover as well. I have read the main event of Empyre & some of the 0 issues but not all of the tie-ins. It’s really cool how Marvel included the unfinished material that didn’t make it into the event. I hope they do that with others if there’s unfinished material. Great overview Omar, you are the man!
If it wasn't for the pandemic this Omnibus would've been the largest one yet!!!

I really like this omnibus and storyline. Marvel should do more Events like Empyre that don't have trylion tie-ins but focus on story. Great that they added bonus stuff. I am wondering about future of this Kree-Skrulls Unity, remembering epilogs with Brand and SWORD. Future looks great
The art and the extras look awesome. I don't know about the story though. I did not read it when it was coming out.

Oh, wow that Jim Cheung cover's gorgeous! I almost want it just for that.
Not my favorite event but wouldn't mind getting this omni because it was a solid story. Might decide to wait awhile to see if the price drops. If I remember correctly, there was an X-Men variant with a demon variant Illyana that was pretty nice. Including the cancelled minis is a nice touch.

Olivetti looks so different! I hated his cg art in war journal. His art in here looks excellent!
This is my personal opinion. I prefer omnibus on chronological order. Don’t like main event at the beginning with tie ins at the end. If I wanted like that I will get the main series tpb. Again my personal opinion.
I agree. I hated how they release the King in Black mini series tpb first and then all the subsequent crossover tpb series the following months. Once you know how the story ends, the motivation to read the crossovers is low.
@@jmv1969 this is what happened to me with Word War Hulk. Read the omnibus. Then when I started with the tie Ins after main event didn’t care that much. I’m still reading that omnibus once in a while.
I’m torn. There has to be a middle ground, because too much can make the main event loose steam. Like Flashpoint was mapped with all those issues in publishing order. What was the point of having it in collected editions? To me the perfect mappings are events like Infinite Crisis and Annihilation.

I would love to see you do a spoiler review of this. I’m not really planning on getting this but I’ve heard it was actually a pretty good event.
Really? I think it had its ups and downs for me. More downs. But that’s just my opinion. Perhaps I need to do more reviews
@@NearMintCondition well to be fair I think it was only one person, most of everyone I know skipped this event. Personally I think current age marvel is so bad I’m thinking of stop reading the new stuff once their runs ends

@@fergotten well with an event like this there is the main empyre story which is 6 issues. Then everything else is tie ins written by others. Usually there are tie in issues where the story fits in between the main story issues. Reading them in chronological order is called the reading order.
Now marvel has been putting out event omnis like this and absolute carnage, and instead of arranging the issues in a proper reading order, they put the full main event first, followed by all the tie ins. This means that to read the book properly, you'll have to skip back and forth to read it right.
The mapping just means how the issues are printed in the book like full stories in one clump or broken up so you can read the full thing without skipping around

I thought it was meh. The artwork was top notch though.
Great art. Story had moments and fell flat often.
Over these ugly standard edition covers that are a small snippet of a cover and then an ugly color wrap around thing. They did this with the War of the Realms standard cover and I hated it there too. Thank god for this amazing DM cover. As a huge fan of Wiccan and Hulking as a couple I was happy to see them highlight the DM cover
This was my favorite cover out of the two
Might pass on this I haven't liked any new comics since Doomsday Clock and the art really isn't my thing.
It wasn't that great. If you're looking for better cosmic stuff check out The Beta Ray Bill mini or the recent Gaurdians of the Galaxy run
I regret preordering this long ago now knowing it’s unfinished.
The main story and most of the tie-ins are finished. The only unfinished tie-in that affects the main story at all is the Thor one.
It’s finished. The extras didn’t have to be added. They just threw them in there.

Is this a big crossover event type book? I have major fatigue on that stuff
@@terrencecoccoli524 Somewhat. From what I read, it helped to have background knowledge of the space side of things. War of the realms is better. Additionally, this one had a lot of unfinished stories, as Omar alluded to in the video, the pandemic and stuff. A positive though, is the script to art extras in the back of this book. I wish more omnibus included these extras.
I think I can always try harder. I just talked about the story and history of where it came from.

This more like it! Time to move on from all those 70's and 80's omnis. Marvel have been releasing any old rubbish recently. Just ordered this bad boy
