For example, if she's a flight risk, then setting a bond amount of $5,000 when she owns $50,000-worth of jewelry, houses, cars, etc. etc., then it wouldn't deter her from not appearing on her court date. She may not show up at all, so while she may not want to answer that question, then she's only doing herself a disservice.

It would be no different if an offender began yelling and preventing a sexually-abused victim from testifying. If the judge doesn't control her behavior, then the next one may do the same thing. Eventually, he doesn't have control over his own courtroom.

I was in court one time and the judge sentenced a man to 6 months in prison, the man trying to act hard said "I'll do that in my sleep" the judge responded "Great, you can do another 6 when you wake up" banged the gavel and sentenced him to a year 🤣😂 the whole court laughed their asses off 😂😂😂

Many years ago, I was a plaintiff in San Francisco Small Claims Court, suing my former employer for breaching our contract. When everyone was asked to stand for the judges entrance, I was so distracted with my case, I didn't stand and had to be asked twice. The judge was pissed and tore me to pieces in his cross-examination. When I left I was sure I lost the case. But then when the letter arrived from the court, I learned that the judge ruled n my favor and even awarded me court costs.
That Judge seems so nice. I bet if she had shown him respect, he would of reduced the fines and tried to help. Instead, she played her stupid games and won a stupid prize XD
Exactly he could have set her up with an out patient detox rehab (even if she was just selling) and house arrest for 30 days. If I was arrested and ordered house arrest during covid I would kiss the judge. About money no less, which makes some people uncomfortable. Could easily be nervousness. The "adios"? Didn't sound like it was meant disrespectful. The cursing you expect to get punishment for. However, contempt is a bit much for a single comment. Judge was being an asshole however polite he may have sounded
