    You are going to be limited by the max RPMs of the V8 compared to the 4 stroke Jetski's. You could make it a top end monster by changing the gearing and using the torque of the V8 for the hole shot.

      Cheapest option is the 5.3 all aluminium block used in 2007 and up Avalanche and Tahoe's/ Burb's. Delete all that DOD/AFM crap though. Cut about 200lbs in that setup vs the iron block. The 6.2 is the ultimate if you can afford it and would solve that bogging issue with that 4.6!

    • @ronnelson7828
      @ronnelson7828 Před 3 lety +6

      I think the LS4 5.3 from a FWD Pontiac or Chevy is the hot ticket for this application. They don't have a starter mount on the block, so they don't get used much for swaps. Price is low for an all aluminum engine. Low profile intake is already reversed and they have a smaller diameter flexplate that may help dropping the engine lower in the hull.

    The GMC Envoy Denali and LT/EXT Trailblazer had an aluminum block 5.3, and (at least for my 06) 243 heads, and is probably going to be the least expensive option...(results may vary). That one is about 300hp stock, and an LS2 cam adds about 40hp with no torque loss below 3500. If you're running the water pump still, ditch it and free up a good bit there. And if you wanna get nuts, a LSA blower will run off the truck accessory drive with a few adaptors.

    These skis do 67-68mph all stock with a 210hp engine.The problem with getting a V8 to perform better than the original 1.8 4 cylinder is both the extra weight and the low engine rpms.Your going to need either a huge prop or a much more aggressive drive ratio to get considerable speed out of this thing.At the rpms your turning the stock 155mm prop is not moving enough water for respectable speeds.To really get speed out of these we turn 160mm props to 10,000+ rpms and 30+ psi.Every 300rpm higher we rev them is worth 1mph and every pound of boost we push is worth another mph
