John's voice is sounding very strong here in this performance. I think my level of anger and bewilderment runs higher than my level of sadness concerning these two seperate tragedies, in that both cases were preventable, and that makes it a damn, damn shame.They all seriously still had so much to live for. John's music will continue to teach many generations to come........ LUCKY THEM!!
The song name says much, but the song itself shows all of John Denver's charisma. The music, the lyrics, the voice, everything so beautifully blend together. This is what makes me listen to his music everyday. And I never regreted it for one single moment!
I got to meet in in Albany, NY and just have a simple conversation. I thanked him for his music and how it impacted my life over the years. The song is perfect for those that understand aviation and the potential dangers that exist. RIP John..your wings carried you “home”…🙏

Denver came up with the idea of a "citizen in space" Reagan decided that it should be a teacher. Denver was moved down to another flight. He was also scheduled to take a Russian flight to the MIR space station - but about 9 months of training meant he would have to miss the birth of his daughter - Jesse Belle - so that was canceled. He was just not meant to go into space - he was meant to sing about it!!
Does anyone know if this concert is on DVD? I had it on VHS but the quality is poor as i recorded it of the TV back in 1986!!! If anyone has a good copy on dvd email me. thanks

I agree with you! there was some reason that he was just not meant to go to space. we don't understand these things, only God does.
Bullshit. They were flying for the quest for scientific knowledge and the understanding of facts - something religion doesn't even try to do.
