Who makes the motors for these things? I keep hearing about people having engine failures all the time. Shouldn't a motor that carries you thousands of feet in to the air be dependable?

Is Jaclyn getting the full student treatment with lean back drills and such or is she kind of just observing like you? In either case, I bet she picks up a lot. I know I did.

I've been sky diving a few times and last year I went hang-gliding in the outer banks. I guess this Summer, I'm going to try andfly a Paramotor in Fla.!!!
Man, this video really made me homesick for the Florida swamps. 😉 Been doing hang glider lessons with my wife over at Wallaby Ranch during vacations over several years. I know, not the most efficient way but that's what our time allows. As long as we're learning we're still flying. Last time we finally were ready for our solos at the end of our stay. -And got weathered out. But that's the name of the game, isn't it. 😊 We've had to prioritize family matters the last years and kind of have been pushing our aviation interests to the back of our minds. But your videos are like beer to an alcoholic, man. I can just close my eyes and see the view from the wing, feel that soft Florida air on my face and feel the wonderful feeling of flying. Lately I have been dreaming of having a trike. Like a Tanarg or something. The disadvantage of those is of course that they need lots of storage space as well as more runway space and of course the fact that we can't afford it. 😉 Paramotor actually seems like a sweet alternative solution. Being (hopefully) more affordable, less complex, easier to store an transport and you can take of and land almost anywhere. And still enabling the kind of flying I would prefer anyway. Low and slow, exploring and enjoying the view. Keep it up!

Tucker, enjoy flying on those mid-afternoons in NJ when the cumulonimbus are forming and the air seems turbulent. Shut your engine off at 1500ft and figure out how to be like a Vulture working the updrafts avoiding the downdrafts. Buy yourself a variometer instrument. You'll fly your first 1500ft aloft with your engine and your next 10,000ft with your human instincts attempting to be the Vulture. This is soaring. Consider it to be your next dimension growing as a pilot...

Damn dude, loving you vids. I follow flitetest as I fly racing quads here in Australia. I love FPV feeling of flying quads and this takes it to the next lvl. This is on my "get list" while I am still alive. Never actually wanted to fly but watched most of your vids and I have a itch that needs a scratch.

Thanks for all the vlogs and info. Its been realy great to watch.
A few weeks ago i was fortunate to meet Kristianna May (2016 World silver medalist champion PPG) here in Western Canada. It was fantastic to watch her fly and spend some time over a weekend.
She really got me hooked on this idea of being able to fly and take off nearly anywhere.
We do have a school here called FLYBC. And i will be taking my training there hopefully soon.
I do have question tho. I am a big guy 6'6" and 280lbs. With that said, i have been looking at some paramotors to try and educate myself as this is not a cheap sport to get into.
Can you maybe have a vlog that gives us the pros and cons of some of the engines out there.
I like your Scout tho. And will these motors push a big guy like me up int the air?

well... it took me about 30 minutes, but i finally found the park you fly out of. Do you plan on doing any Meet-up's there for some of your subs? it's about an 1.5 hours from me
Is it possible/safe to do double wing-overs or double barrel rolls? Just like continue the roll into another one or quickly switch over to roll to the opposite side? It seems like you at least balance yourself out again after each maneuver (which of course is safer) but have you seen people do otherwise? Just curious :P
hey tucker could you talk about which is the absolute safest wing for a newbie , if price wasn't a issue , and could you speak to the issue of deploying your reserve under stress , how do you keep it from getting caught in the mess you already have going on

Tucker Gott I have sent you a message through Messenger but I'm sure you're extremely busy. I had a question for you. my question is can you give me a comparison or at least your opinion on the differences between a scout and a Nirvana. I'm not yet a pilot, still learning to kite. But I am researching paramotors. very impressed with your videos on the scout. But I've heard you say it might not be recommended for beginners. Your thoughts? did not mean to poach this conversation but I wasn't sure how to get the message to you otherwise.
BOWHUNT king I've never flown a Nirvana so take that into account but generally Nirvanas are on the heavier side. They are well known for being reliable and smooth. They normally use a high hang point harness which I wouldn't be so stoked on but I've recently seen a model with swing arms. The Scout is designed more so for experienced pilots but it can also be your first paramotor given you get proper training.

Also is there any website where i can look prices for paramotor,wing and reserve, i am 6'2 ,208LB what is your suggestion on equipment i think i will go with Nitro 200 but not sure what wing and reserve to buy and where to buy it?

So you learned in Florida, sweet I'm from Americas ding dong. What are the prices for this place, and do they provide equipment for first timers? Dod they do a good job explaining like what type of wing brands to buy exc to give newbies a good clean educated path for making proper buying choices? I'd really like to get into this hobby. It be even better if i could buy the wing/parachute so i can just make my own engine and bore it out to do all that work in my shop. I can make a car from the ground up, so its really just the wing I'm worried about because if that shit malfunctions I'm sol depending on height i guess.

There is so much that could go wrong. Leave Fido on the ground. Also flying in Colorado is a bit less fuel efficient due to the thinner air.

scottso241 as long as you can land and take off effortlessly, sure. If your back is like really bad you might want to try a small trike. Just mind your limitations and your safety, talk to your instructor

I've always wanted to fly myself, ultralight fixed wings seemed a good choice. Then I watched a Discovery show on a Brazilian Rainforest tribe, they had no access to modern med. They were given a 2man quad powered paraglider, taught to fly it, show stated on ease of flying. I thought wow, if pygmies can fly that...so can I.
Way back when, thought I'd just order one online, put it together, figure it out on my own in my cow pasture. Never did it, have an adventurous daughter who can and will, but for her I need...must do it the right way. Love her too much to take short cuts, and who knows, later she could teach me.

Paramotor on a skate board?
I've tried to skate on a long board with just the motor and it was super unstable. I think I'll stick to skis for now, lol.
I want to try and wear my motor (without the wing) while riding my bicycle lol
