Brother, you just saved me $1,500 that the autoshop tried to charge me for this. It took me 30 minutes and had virtually no trouble at all. You are awesome!!
Wow…..that’s crazy! Glad it helped and glad you saved that money
They are trying to rip you off for that much
They tried to charge me $120 saying it’s risky blah blah
I wish all videos were like this. Excellent camera angle, crystal clear, perfect lighting, and great dictation. Keep up the great work.
Had no idea cars with SS had secondary battery. I personally think Start Stop is ridiculous
Stupid gimmick workaround to “improve” EPA mileage testing results.
@@Utubby1970 TREEHUGGERS ! Too much hydrocarbons....what BS !!!
@@Utubby1970 yep !
Makes the starter go out quicker too. Turn mine off every time I get in the car.
Dumest thing ever
I really appreciate that you both call out the torque values verbally as well as displaying them on screen. I found it very helpful!
One of the best DIYer videos I have ever viewed. I loved the extra info on bolt torque. Thanks a bunch.
This is one of the best videos I have viewed. Concise, easy to follow, good safety reminders and excellent technical info. Thanks.
I always appreciate feedback like that. I know it’s just a battery video but I put a lot of work into it as far as editing. Thanks for noticing.
Thank you!!! You're a lifesaver. My son in law tried to get the guy at the auto parts store to change his aux battery yesterday, but only ended up worse off than when he started. You had the secrets!!! First the store guy stopped when he didn't have a T5 socket, so you told us we needed one before we got into it! Then when the guy put the battery leads back on, he put the lower positive lead on the neg side with the neg lead. Jeep really should've made that a red wire. Anyway my son in-law is all better again... Thank you!!!
Thank you-Thank you!! FYI: The accessory better is only good for about 3 years. I had to change both batteries in my Compass to get it to crank over.
Worked perfectly! You gave so much detail in a fast form! A+
This video was super helpful. Thank you for taking the time to give such a detailed explanation that’s easy to follow along.
Excellent video!!! Walked me right through changing of auxiliary battery👍
Thanks Bob for checking the video out and make sure to subscribe
Always good content Dave. Excellent teacher. On another note I was experiencing shift flare between 3-4 and 4-5 on my 14' Ram 2500 Cummins 68RFE since it was new. I bought the Revmax transmission valve body and it 99% cleared up that issue. Have a great day bud.
Great work David. It's a shame how much time, engineering, and expense is put into a system that no one wants and over its lifetime, truly saves little or nothing.

But Chrysler saves money on the kickback from the government.
@@nfn7121 No, they just get scammed a little bit less by the government in how much they are forced to pay Tesla every year.
Perfect instructions. No bloating. To the point.
Replaced my battery today using this video, very helpful and straightforward! The replacement I used is an Aux14 - Duralast Platinum AGM. Very Simple! Just make sure you have the E5 Socket!
David, I was able to replace my battery today with my son and it was really easy to do.
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for posting this video. My husband used it to replace my aux battery today. Fixed all the issues I was having.
If I could like more than once I would! Such a thorough explanation. This video is so helpful I’ve referred to it multiple times.
Nice, clear video and I liked that you put in the torque specs (funny thing is a lot of folks have no idea what inch pounds are all about vs. foot pounds🙃!!) for everything you could. Thanks! Gonna go out and change the aux battery in a minute!
Very good instructions and safety. Thanks so much! Great video!
Thank you very much for this video! I followed along and was able to change this out myself! Very clear instructions and very appreciative of the verbal and audio cues!
Awesome! Glad it went well and thanks for the great feedback
Dude you are an awesome explainer……to the point , thanks so much .
Thank you so much. This has been a very helpful video. I just replaced my own auxiliary battery, l followed every step and everything is perfect
Beat instruction video I’ve seen. Great detail and step by step. Appreciate the education!
Much appreciated. Thank hate watching my older stuff due to the quality but they video I am proud of because of all the little things like the lighting, sound, etc. Glad that you enjoyed as well
Good to see you posting videos again !!!
Very nice video. I watch several channels of automotive stuff, and yours is about the best when it comes to repair procedures. Nice, clear, well explained and easy to follow.
I really appreciate your videos, perfect explanations.
Excellent video, professional and informative! Thank you
Many thanks!
Great instructional video. Who knew 2 batteries!
Great high quality informative video! Thx for sharing this.
My light and message is on now, its been on for a couple months.🥴 lol my start go hasn't worked, but honestly I never liked the feature, I always deactivate it as I start my trip for the day. However This video was very helpful so I'll end up replacing it soon. THANK YOU, EXCELLENT VIDEO!
I watched this video on my computer . Searched and found it on my phone so I can hit that like button. Very good video . I don’t know if I missed it but will watch again or check the manual for the model number of the auxiliary battery as the guy at Canadian tire didn’t sound too sure and was referring to Jeep wrangler even after I told him that it’s a compass (because aux battery replacement for a wrangler is a lot different) . Great video 👍
Thank you Sir ,very professionally done .
You are the absolute best teacher!!!
Well done!! Very thorough easy to follow. Thank you for this video, man.
Great job on this one. 2 batteries... I had no idea....
Excellent tutorial with good details. Very helpful.
This is so helpful!! Thank you for such a simple to follow explaination
Your welcome and thanks for watching.

Thank you so much followed step by step everything went great
Great video, great help. I have a 2018 Compass and the aux battery setup is similiar. Thanks, would’ve been Lost in the sauce had I not watched this
Glad I found this channel. Really clear and concise information. My Compass wouldn’t start yesterday and when I checked the fusesI had to unhook the battery because an error message about the “vehicle is in Park“ would not go off. (It was in Park) It puzzled me because I was not aware my vehicle had two batteries. The door chime would not stop dinging, Set the neighbors dogs off and of course it was 10:30 pm. So it was a fun evening...NOT! For the record, I do not like stop/start system and I’m sure I’m not alone. But I appreciate you sharing your knowledge sir. God bless!
I'm having the same issue. My car won't start, only the lights & radio would come on & when I tried to shut it off it said the same thing to put the car in park but it was in park so now my car won't turn on at all. Did replacing the 2nd battery fix the issue for you?
@@mari.buen14 I know my aux battery is going bad, my car wouldn’t start today. I’m in tow different compass groups on Facebook and they recommend to go ahead and replace both. My batteries are still factory on an ‘18 so I guess it was about time. I’m worried I don’t have a memory saver and whether I need to replace one or both batteries 😬
Darn I wish you made a video changing both. You're great at explaining. Great video
Thank you for this video.I watch it because I had to change the Auxiliary Battery on my 2019 Jeep Compass.Went step by step the way you show it on the video. With the exception of torquing the nuts.Didn’t have a torque wrench.Think I will be alright though. And I’m 71.No more,Service Stop/Start System Warning Light staying on .Again ,thank you for sharing your expertise with me..
Hello, I have the same problem now, the auto/start/stop system light is on, so the reason could be that battery, replacing it with solve that issue?
@@marvinarrobo487 Yes, it did my daughter's 2017 today!
Very helpful....followed this to do my own.
Great job!
One of the best damn videos that I've seen on here. With all of the specs as far as the torqing goes and pointing the little details out
Great Job man, so helpful!!
thanks for the video i was able to swap mine out with your help!
Excellent job man… taught me somethin I didn’t know…
You're a life saver! Thank you!
Another reason to be glad I drive a 98 (4.0L) Wrangler and a 96 (2.3L) Ranger! 1 battery, no extra electronic GARBAGE. It's all packaged as a "we're doing this to make things more efficient and help you" scenario, but in reality it's just a bunch of expensive modules, sensors, fuses, connections that can and WILL fail probably sooner than later and how many (needless IMO) start cycles is a starter designed to last? I can tell you that driving and having a starter repeatedly cycling is cutting deeply into the starter's life (if it were without the auto-start feature). Not to mention (I have driven a Cherokee with this exact feature) it is down right annoying! Great vid!
Just changed mine on my 2019 Compass…great tutorial!!! 👍🏾
Same here
Thinking about changing mine need tools, but need to see video for the other battery. Dealer want 900 yeah bet I won’t
OOPS!!!! SO SORRY!!!! I went back and checked it again. The first time I watched this it only gave me the very end. Great detail! Great video! Great Job! Thank you for sharing.
Your welcome and thanks for watching.
Спасибо за видео, было полезным!
Thank you for the detailed removal / install video if this battery. The torque specs were very helpful. I was able to swap both batteries in less than an hour.
Great video. I wish all were this detailed.
Excellent video, this helped a ton!

Awesome video very thankful sir.
Thank you for this video! I really appreciate it!
Great video, so thorough.
Thank you. I try to include as much as needed but not too muck. Make sure to subscribe and check out my other videos
Awesome video Dave!
Yes start/stop SUCKS! My wife has the same on her 2018 Dodge Durango which we always have to hit the button to shut off. But both batteries are under the front passenger seat. What a PITA. You make it look easy as usual)))
You think they would give you the option in the EVIC display to permanetly disable it if you wanted so theres less wear and tear on the starter. But then again i guess thats more moola for the stealerships.
Kudos to Dave!
Now I see that there are two batteries on my Grand Cherokee. Every time I watch one of your videos my mind expands.
Excellent video. Everything is well visualized and explained. I did this job for a friend and it went very smoothly, thanks
Thanks so much for this!

Being under the right seat in our WK2 definitely adds some frustration to what should be simple.
Hell yea thank you very informative..!
Thanks for checking the video out and for leaving a comment
Thank you for video! Do you need to some sort of update to the computer after replacing the aux battery?
Great video. Question to ask. Can I charge the auxiliary battery while connected and in the Jeep without having to take everything out. Just want to make sure it won't destroy any of these expensive fuses. Thanks
I would like to see you change out the auxillary battery on a JLUR. I believe it is more involved.
Oh I know it is. I hate that they hid it where they did so you don’t even know where it is
The jeep dealership just charged my lady friend 945 for this same job, I would've did this for a chipotle burrito. thanks for the video
Great Video ! I just jumped my compass today. Battery not holding up. Do I need to change both batteries ? And if so which battery do I take out first ? Thx.
The steps are very and very well my only question is will the light on the dashboard automatically and can you use an aftermarket battery on a

Great how to video. Can you eliminate the aux battery completely?
Excellent for you friend :))))
