Ute Lemper performs "Die Moritat von Meckie Messer"

Ute Lemper performs "Die Moritat von Meckie Messer" (Ballad of Mack the Knife) in Ilona Ziok's internationally awarded musical film "Kurt Gerron's KARUSSELL" (world premiere: Berlin Film Festival, 1999). This famous song by Bertold Brecht & Kurt Weil was written for "The Three Penny Opera" and the first to sing it was Kurt Gerron, 1928. Other famous actors and musicians featured in Ilona Ziok?s bitter-sweet movie within the Berlin cabaret are Bente Kahan, Coco Schumann, Max Raabe, Ben Becker and Schall & Hauch. Manuel Göttsching produced the Soundtrack CD to the film for Warner.
