The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

What ?
The lower part of the discs rotate in the water so they stay wet. The air passes through the part of the set of discs that is sticking out above the water level, and part of the dust sticks to the wet discs. When the turning discs pass through the water below the dust is released in the water, so the water gets dirty. When you see the water has gotten dirty you throw it out and fill the basin with fresh water. That way the air in your room gets washed.
In the mean time, as the air passes through the wet disc set, that air gets humid, and that now washed humid air is blown into your room so it doesn't get too dry. That way this device both cleans the air and humidifies it.
i tested this in a seal room with a air pollution detector. its deosnt clean as fast and good as a real filter.

@YAT 97 it dose work. the room smell musty. the water get so dirty real fast. i dont know how much the water can hold the dust compare to that of fabric
@YAT 97 I have had these for about 12 years. You change the water daily. I take the bottom section with the discs and run water in them and flush out the water with the dust and then when they are decently clean I fill it with water and return it. Its very fast and easy. Works well. No musty smell that the other person says.
I bought the LW 44 and set in my BED ROOM. I am an user with so many brands of air purifier eg. Panasonic, Sharp and IQAIR, honeywell (They are set up in my office's various room and in my house). Nice but in the summer the moisture keeps the house too warm and it's not nice so I use it only when when moisture is about 45 in home.
Looking for an air washer to wash air before it is injected in house creating a positive pressure of clean air inside the house.
How does this compare at removing dust vs a hepa filter?

I am still a little dubious, however, as air is pulled "through" water? I don't know if this is possible without misting or rapid agitation to create a lot of water-to-air surface contact. I was like to know how this unit compares to HEPA units using a contained space and an instrument that measures air particulate matter. How many room air changes is it good for per hour?
i tested this with hepa. this machine doesnt clean the air as good. it takes hours and small changes. the hepa filter takes only 15 min to be completely clean.
If you want a really good air purifier, get the health pro plus, use this machine for humidification. The filtering it does is minimal but as a humidifier, it's top of the line.
The dust in the air gets caught on the metal rotating drum filter thing. Then the drum rotates and deposites the dust into the water. The air isn't forced through the water.

On one of the other videos it say's the water should be replaced daily. The big purple dragons in this case would have to get it where you dump the old water

its NOT a filter!!!!! the air is not drawn through any water to clean it, it is drawn atop of the air. More like a humidifier!
It's an air washer ... watch the video. It's primary purpose is to humidify but it does remove larger particles from the air. It's a crappy "filter" but suitable for some uses. It's still a very good humidifier. If you need a better air purifier then you'll have to pay for something with a HEPA filter in it.
