- One of my most requested videos is how to grow a pumpkin arch like I did last year. So in this video I aim to give you all the advice and tips you'll need to create a pumpkin arch, just like I did in 2021.
I'll be doing a grow-a-long on here and on my instagram (with @pumpkins_etc) in March 2022 so you will be able to grow when I do!
ARCHWAYS: www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-24m...

If you water the ground before putting the posts/stakes in it is far easier. The soil also forms like clay around the base with the wet mud.Hope this is helpful,a kind wise gardener once shared this with me so I'm passing it on
Pumpkin pro.
There u go. U get 1st prize.
I have to say this was such a good video and achievement. I will be copying this idea in my garden. Hope it turns out well.
Hi Emma, I’ve been watching you for over a year now and your pumpkin archway was my fave! It inspired me to do it this year. I’ve got Jack be little and honey bear acorn squash seeds. Just need to get those arch’s ordered!
Love your videos, as do my kids! You’ve really inspired us to get growing 💕
I don't have an allotment but I do have a very small back garden so I Built myself a "repurposed wood" arch after watching "Jessie at plot 37" and was so happy with the results from french beans so this may well be a second planting idea. thanks Emma.
Well done on your pumpkin arch, loved watching them grow over the summer.I have a triple arch similar to yours and grew butternut squash, pumpkin and courgettes up mine as well as sweet peas. Going to try mini pumpkins this year too after seeing yours do so well.
I'm going to to try this in my garden, cant believe you don't have more likes! I really appreciate tou documenting your experiment ❤️
Thanks Emma for video I’m definitely growing my pumpkins over an archway hopefully with the success like you had thanks 👍
"Im just making it up" I love this. That earned a like and sub from me. Great video, thank you.
Thanks for the information on the small pumpkin seeds. I ordered myself some after watching you.
Love your videos and your way of doing things. Think I might be binge watching all your videos.
Thanks for keeping us all entertained, happy planting 😁
I'm definitely going to have to grow one of these on my plot! I think I might make my arch out of coppiced sweet chestnut :D Love it!
I love this!! Thank you for simple explanation 🥰 aaand I loooooove the birds chirping in the background in the beginning 😍 🕊
Brilliant I'm going to try this I've got a variety of pumpkins love your arch
Yes 🙌 this is an awesome channel! You have such a great sense of humour hahaha love it! I’ll be trying this over next few weeks. I have an arch for grapes 🍇 and will be growing pumpkins 🎃 for the first time ever:-). Take care :-)
Very good Emma! 🙂 My pumpkins and squash were a no show last year so hopefully better this year and i will get a pair of arches too, great video keep them coming cheers 👏
Got my plot last year. It's a very small plot as I've not a clue what im doing 😂 but the main thing i want to grow are pumpkins, definitely going to try growing them this way, can't wait!! 🎃
Well done Emma. What an achievement! Although I'm a very experienced gardener myself, I've never done a pumpkin arch before. However, you've definitely inspired me and I already have small Turks Turban pumpkins on the go so I'll get my arch ordered from Wilko. I'm in the north of Scotland so I might have to leave it a bit later before I plant them out / whack em in! X
A nice down to earth video and a great harvest.I have a packet of the jack be little to sow but have to find those baby boo as well.
Loved this! We have just bought baby boo seeds so I’ll be doing this :)
I really enjoyed watching this Emma.
Thank you for this amazing video. Can't wait to try this
Thanks for this. I just love growing pumpkins and squashes but never have enough space. I will try the arch.
Can't wait to join the pumpkin challenge finished my double arch yesterday
I love this. It's hard to grow pumpkins in Alaska because our season is so short.
Thanks for this video Emma and I love 😍 Pumpkin but like yourself don't have a big plot. I might consider growing Pumpkins this year. Keep safe, warm and well.
This was really funny, but also helpful! 😊
They look so lovely growing like that I find them to ornamental
Gonna have a try at doing this in my garden, I've got the same variety of pumpkins 🎃
Enjoying watching you Emma..I love my allotment too.
I've got 2 wilko arches side by side, tied off with thick cable ties for extra strength. Mine have baby boo and red kuri. The baby boo are excellent, so many fruit on the vines, but the red kuri are rubbish, just 1 on the vine.
Happy gardening, keep up the great work.
Waiting on my Jack-be-Little seeds to arrive!! 🎃
Mine got mangled in the storm but definitely going back up this year x
A Round wire, described it nicely 👌 👍
Love the tunnel 💕 💞
Thank you Emma x
Very true, it's knowing when to let go because it has come to the end of its life. :)
Cool arch
Instead of string to tie together you can get re usable cable ties, far quicker, tighter, easy to take apart & you can save for other jobs. When cutting off your pumkins cut it so it has inch or so of the stem from the plant like a letter T with pumkin at the bottom of the T.
I also grow my squash up arches!
loved the arch. could have let it stay and then grow watermelons on it.
❤️ fun times‼️🎃🍃
I'd maybe have used a softer larger mesh than the chicken wire, I'd be worried the pumpkins will garrote themselves under their own weight on the hard thin wire. Good luck with the harvest
brilliant
Such a great job from two £10 arches. Lovely.
Aw that looked great, what are you growing up it this year ?
I have a little wooden one which I built, I grew sweet peas up it last year but this year I'm growing kuri squash up.it, I can't wait
👌👌✨✨Lovely
A wanna grow pumpkins
Can you suggest which chicken wire works best on the arch
?
Is okay to put plants on each end of the trellis? Or did you only put them on one end?
Love this. What will you grow on your arches this year?
Pumpkins again, but also adding some beans this year I think. Fast growing ones, so I can get a harvest before the pumpkins take over! x
@@emmasallotmentdiaries ooh yeah thats a great idea!
Hey Emma. Do you find you have to help fertilise the pumpkins for better results or do you find they generally sort themselves out. Strange question I know. I just noticed I’ve had a few female flowers grow with a little “pumpkin” only to die out days later. They are still growing and are still producing flowers everyday. Now over a metre high. Is this normal? That loads female flowers don’t produce and it’s just a waiting game?
where do buy the chicken wire from?
Would one archway be suffice? I.e would it be strong enough? ☺️
Did you grow these from seed?🌼🌼
I loved this x I'm growing in my garden at home so I don't have a great place for the arches. But I'm going to create a place against a wall on one side of the house.
Did you plant the Baby Boo on one side and the Jack Be Little on the other? I'm thinking I'll just do two each but wondering if I should mix them up or not. Also, which did better - the compost or manure side?
U can leave the pumpkin arch up all year
Who’s is that voice and where’s Emma gone?
Thumbs up for the "pointless ladder to nowhere" description.
