Did he talk at all about how the Germans TREATED *troops* they took prisoner?
Obviously we all know how they treated their... OTHER prisoners, but did troop prisoners get sent to the camps? Or did they get housed elsewhere or something
Before you caption a video, be sure that's what it's actually about.
Dishonest clickbait video title dishonor you and the men you're interviewing. Be better.
Your title is false he, he didn't take any tank out. It took him out.
"What are you gonna do, shoot me?"
-man who got shot at by a tiger ~1944
This man is a Totally Bad azzz! Thank you God for the Greatest Generation! Barb
seriously though 😂😂 he’s so humble and nonchalant about it but you’re just left there like “man, the balls on this guy”
I'm curious where this action was, as there were only about 66 Tigers and Tiger IIs in the Battle of the Bulge and only 102 in the entire theater at the time. I know you're making the assumption that it's a Tiger because he says the main gun was an 88, but it's very unlikely that it was. Every tank was a Tiger to an American.
@@wiking44 I'll trust the mans word. He was there, he saw it with his own eyes and you're just some youtube troll trying to say this man is a liar.
Of course, every tank had an “88” and was a “tiger” even though tiger both 1 and 2 were in extremely low numbers on the western front.
Dude stared down the firing barrel of a tiger tank and lived to tell the tale. There’s a reason him and his fellow troops are known as the greatest generation
Bless you Sir
It probably was a Panzer IV.
All my life I've been watching war documentaries WW2 was where the metal meets the meat
@@roberttitan4497 He said it was an 88, open your ears.
@@knowahnosenothing4862y u so angry lil bro?
“Taken down by a German tank”. There, I fixed the title for you.
Right? I kept waiting to hear him say "so I fired" but instead I got "they took me prisoner"
yea lol L story
@@ReallyRealAnubis regardless, you could never survive a tank shell, so not so much of an L story
He's probably like 10 years old. No adult, or at least not one worthy of note, uses "ah bro he took AN L or L story!!!" Especially when describing life or death situations.
The whole story was cut out
Your bravery will never be forgotten by me, thank you.
he run like a rabbit and got shoot by back. and after he made a story.
he saved your ass or you might have been speaking german and kissing hitlers ass.@@makoado6010
This Soldier & his friend both were POW's & at one time escaped. They were found in a barn where they ran in, to hide & when the Germans found them, they executed his friend. This Soldier fought but was taken again. He finally did escape again & he survived for a whole week w/out food or water & the Germans had dogs but the dogs couldn't find him. He found his American crew again. When he found another friend of his on the battle line, he said in such a nonchalant way "hey, I just escaped, what do U want me to do here?" or similar words. I'll never imagine what The Greatest Generation endured🙏 God bless them dearly🙏🕊✝️❤ my dad fought in WWII, Pearl Harbor, US Navy ❤🇺🇸 his ship was the USS Lexington & dad was a tough Tail Gunner, he was a boxer in the Navy too ❤ RiP dad & thank you everyone for my freedom, I love U ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸❤
Thank you for serving Our Country, Sir!
These legendary men would be appalled of what has become of our western countries. Its such a shame.

@@Randomyoutubecommenter No. He was my childhood friend.

I’m sorry for what you had to go through. I can’t imagine the terror in my body if I had to even see such a thing. Thank you for your service. God Bless your Soul and the Souls of the men who fought alongside you!!!
Thank you for your service!
Thank you so very much for your Courageous Service Sir !!!!!
I know from my experience in life that his generation, were more wiser, than today's generation . You are Honorable Soldier .
If they were so wise, they would have refused to fight.
Every one of these veterans are true heroes. They saved the free world from the most evil and vile organization in history, and our world would not be the same without them. We all sincerely thank you for your service and sacrifices you made for others!

I think the Red Kmer, was even a greater evil and as degenerate, as the Nacional Socialist of Germany.
Remember AS VILE AS NAZI REGIME WAS...

I’m glad YOU lived to tell this story… THANK YOU for YOUR service…PLUS DETERMINATION; 🇺🇸‼️
Holy smokes! A WW2 Para trooper!! Thats was a crazy dangerous job and not many made it home. They would get shot at while floating down directly into combat. Amazing we get to hear his account, wow!
watch band of brothers if you haven't already
@@kountrygunz2032
Watched it again a week or so ago for the 10th time and the older I get the more I understand it. The Pacific is just as good. Also if you watch band of brothers on Max watch the documentary The men of Easy Company which are the men it's based on which by now I doubt any are living.
I watched the documentary it's really good. and no they have all passed away. from everything ive seen the guys loved the movie and said they were spot on. we owe the ww2 vets a debt that can't be repaid. They truly were the greatest generation. Fury is another favorite of mine.@@dewaynebryant1483
Grateful you made it home safe so you could spread the history. Thank you!
Thank you for your service.
Forever grateful to all vets and soldiers! Salute to the greatest generation!
Thank you for your service and sacrifice. You are truly part of the greatest generation. We may never have braver servicemen than you.
I think we do have servicemen just as brave. The Medal of Honor is still being awarded.
@jb47vintage I would like to think so, too. I just don't know if today's generations can truly live up to the same guts and glory as the World War 2 generation
@@cjsiatkowski5144 I know what you mean. From what I've seen, some do live up to it.
The photo you show is of a super bazooka, which wasn't in use until after WW2, premiering in the Korean War... Not that it's a huge deal, just thought I would point that out before some other jackass came along. Thank you anyhow for sharing this hero's story
So you thought about it, and proceeded to be the "jackass", as you'd say, that had to point out they used a picture of the wrong bazooka? Nice one 👍🏻
He probably did not give them that picture. It is probably a "stock photo" that the person who made the video inserted to give viewers some idea what a bazooka looks like in general. It helped because I wasn't sure.
If the video producer can't be bothered to describe the situation honestly, he can hardly be expected to show the correct bazooka.
Thank you Sir for your service

Kathy, nothing is funny about this. War is not funny.
Thank you for your service During WW2 God bless you all 🙏
Thank you for your courageous service
The greatest generation is the generation that raised these people.
The generation that raised them lived through the depression, WWI, and prohibition, and raised their children with duty and love.
The “greatest generation “ did do a wonderful job, but their children were crazy, and we’re still suffering from the effects of them not raising their children when their parents had gone through similar horrors or worse (no penicillin for them, and vaccines were still being developed for major illnesses like polio).
The “greatest generation” was the “greatest generation”s parents, they lived through similar circumstances or worse, and still raised their families.
Thank You Sir! For you service, bravery and courage!!!
Thank You For Your Service ❤
“What’re you gonna do, shoot me?” The absolute BALLS on this man for not turning tail and running. I know I would have. That generation may be ignorant and not tech savvy, but they are certainly the most honorable and courageous of any generation out there.
Yeah, this is impressive. He was right, it's even in the Tiger manual that the main gun is not to be used for infantry, so it was a correct judgement and not being so stupid it looks brave. But to look straight down a tank barrel, think rationally and take a few seconds more to aim is cold as ice.
You mean the generation that sent people to the moon with slide rulers?
I wouldn't call them ignorant. They were tech savvy when it came to the technology of their time.
@@leerusch7392 yeah no, they are ignorant by todays rules, and also not tech savvy by todays rules as well. That’s obviously what I meant.
You had balls of steel, sir!
May YHWH bless you. We owe you and your brothers in arms so much. Thank you sir.

It was born to them, many of these guy's dad's served in WWI.
Both my grandads served in the Great War, and my dad served in WWII.
These men built this country in many ways. We should remember President Reagan's word "We're all just one generation away from losing our freedoms"
Hello. Yes, I am from Europe, and I think you may be closer to loose your freedom if you choose some more people as Mr. Trump. Just my opinion. Regards.
Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
God bless this man and His family! My husband is a Marine and served 2 tours in Iraq...our military are the real superheros ❤
Blessings to you sir; how harrowing that situation must have been for you! We’re so GLAD that you survived ❤
Fighting against a tank, they just don't build them like they used to. God bless you Sarah and thank you for your service 🙏🏻🇺🇸
DAMN!! Staring down the barrel of a tank... This is how legends and songs are made.
Id love to hear the rest of the story .thank you for your service. So glad you made it home
Nobody commenting on the incorrect title? The tank took him out, not the other way around. Very cool story though, I'm glad these interviews have been uploaded to CZcams.
People overlook it but to be fair, youtubers making money out of vets while purposely labeling their videos with misleading titles and photos should be a crime. Its already illegal to give false information on historical events as certain public servants, considering youtube has much more influence, it should be punishable by a harsher sentence here.
What A story so great he has lived a full life! My father was a WWII paratrooper a Red Devil he told me he saw a Pz IV tank taken out in North Africa they used Plastic HE with a detonator in it, they often didn't go off until some US servicemen who knew baseball taught them how to spin the ball of explosive to keep the detonator facing the tank. They threw from just back from the roadside and occasionally took out the thrower.
Til Valhalla brother
Definition of guts!
Thank you for your service and our freedoms
Bless you !
Damn pops
Ooof. Getting hurt enough to not be able to fight back and getting taken was my only fear. These guys saw a very different, much more volite and dangerous war. Mad respect brother.
The one pictured in the video is a 4.2 inch "Super Bazooka" (not available tell Korea). The ones used in WW2 where much smaller and only of limited effectiveness against German Armor.
Literally staring down the barrel of an 88 on a Tiger Tank. That takes some ballz!
I love that his first thought was "ah come on hes not gonna waste a shell on just me, right?"
Idk why the algorithm always thinks im a vet, but love the shorts ive been seeing and definitely wanna check out more. New sub!
I had a dear friend named Mikey! He fled Soviet Russia before WW2 and from Stalin! When I met him he was almost 90! He ended up joining the US Army as an interpreter, and the stories he told me about being a US soldier, and his childhood under communism in the USSR, would unsettle most people! I served the US Marines during Desert Storm, and his stories touched me in ways that no others have! Miss that ole hero!!!! After all he'd beem thru, he was the most caring person I've ever met! He was what humanity should strive to be like! ❤❤❤
Thank you Sir for your service my Father was with the 45 Thunderbird's in Korea .hes got the Purple Heart also God. Bless u thank u
"Thank You" for my FREEDOM, Sir...
Some may think "oh what a great memory he has to remember that moment from the world war so vividly"
Others will know that this retelling of an event is a scar he will never lose.
He is like running his mental finger over the scar in his mind as if it's like Braille for blind folk.
It's nice to know that there are still some of these guys in our midst.
These are all old interviews...like over 10 years-old old.
Thank you my friend
Brave man😢
Thank you sir. I owe my freedom to you.
standing up to a tank with a bazooka - this is a badass for sure. Our once great country was lucky for these hero’s …
You and your men are owned so much. Our freedoms our democracy we owe you this and much more. I personally owe you this the right to call myself a Paratrooper.
This man has balls bigger than any other man that will live. We must protect and respect any and all Allied men that served in WWII and especially anyone brave enough to face an 88mm cannon. Title is clickbait lowkey but God bless this man he definitely faced the tank with courage.
Thanks for your story sir
My dad did the same thing from a church. The shell that he fired bounced off the tank , did nothing. The turned and fired. Dad had already jumped and ran down the stairs as the church came down around his ears. His words.
My old man signed up in 1939 when he was 21 years old despite being in a reserved occupation and after a time in the Royal Engineers fighting in Africa and Egypt he applied and after training was accepted into the newly formed 1st parachute battalion he was at Arnhem and was eventually captured and interred in a POW camp from where he eventually escaped and with fellow soldiers made his way back to the U.K. I am so proud of my dad even to this day when I am 67 years old, if I’m completely honest I’m still not sure to this day how confident I would have been at his age to sign up to such a horrendous and brutal time but I guess there but of the grace of god go I and my one wish if I could have one would be that the youngsters of today would realise and understand the sacrifices given by so many women and men in those times for the freedom they have today
